My 2007 with 68,700 miles could not be jump started by USAA de more than the 12V battery that was 3 years and 2 months old. had my car towed to a local service station on 140th. The diagnoss was I needed a new hybrid battery... estimate $6,600 including a new 12 V battery. I didnt think it was prudent to spend that much on my 2007 car and researched options. They were more epensive at Toyota dealers and the diagnostic test were as well. Toyota no longer makes hybrid batteries for the 2007 Prius so they are refurbished with 1 or 2 year warranties..for ove 6K A very nice place that sells 12 V batteries for my car told me to contact Greentech Auto in Auburn. They explained that there were choices .. a refurbished with a 1 year warranty that was made to last for 2 years, a 2 year warranty refurbished hybrid that was made to last for 4 years and a 4 year warranty battery with new cells that was built to last for 8 years. The price for the 4 yer warranty was $2,700 and they would install a new 12 V battery as part of it with no labor charge if I provided the battery. I got one at Napa in Bellevue. They said it would take 2 weeks to make the battery with new cells. I had my car towed to Greentech in Auburn. The 4 year warranty battery was ready in 5 days and they called me that it was finished. They said I didn't need a new 12 V becaue once the new cell hybrid was installed it started and ran perfectly for days, so it was holding the charge. I don't drive on highways so they delivered my 2007 Prius to my house at no additional charge and gave me all the paperwork. They were knowledgeable and clear about keeping ny hybrid battery in good condition. With gas prices what they are I am thrilled to have my Prius in working order and not having to buy another vehicle under pressure. Greentech makes hybrid and electric batteries. They actually suggestd I get the less expense battery since I don't drive very much. The warranty on the hybrid with new cells is transferable to a new owner if I sell my car. BRAVO Greentech. Bravo to the battery place Pacific Battery in Kirkland that recommended I check out Greentech. Bravo to Tony's roadside assistance for coming so quickly to jump sta and my battery and being straight forward about suggesting I need to check out anytt other issues my car had. After guy diagnosed the car, said regular battery temperature sensor bad. Stop in Toyota dealer bought new battery cost $438 dollars. Next day car dead on freeway on mile from home. Called company ask them to diagnose my car, they ask to bring car in shop. Called cooperative office, he pushes them to make appointment in my house. Guy stops last Friday make big show to said hybrid battery broken and said he didn't know why he said the regular battery sensor was dead. Dreaded Prius hybrid battery went out. Shopped around with a few different hybrid repair places. Decided to go with Greentec because their warranty was the best and the price was great, since they happened to be running a Labor Day special. Met the mechanic at their location, took only about an hour to take out my battery pack and install the new one. Drove back from Portland to Seattle and averaged 54.1mpg! Took another road trip to New York and back in 10 days. Drove 6500 miles in less than 2 weeks and still managed to get great gas mileage, except around the Rocky Mountains, which is obvious. The warranty is great for the new battery pack, which costs half the price of dealership and gives you 3x the warranty the dealer was willing to offer. Will definitely use Greentec again if I ever need to swap a 10 year old Prius battery. read more

These guys are a life saver. I recently bought a used Honda Civic hybrid and 2 weeks into driving it the IMA battery light turned on and I thought I was fucked. I got a quote from a Honda dealership and they said it would be upwards of $4000 because it's an expensive part and "the job is so labor intensive." This is the ONLY place you should go for a hybrid battery in the area!!! Really. I was a bit worried because they are located way down in Auburn because I live way up in Everett and I wanted/needed a mobile install. After getting several price quotes etc it became very clear that these gives offered the best bang for your buck. Got a mobile install AND a 3 year warranty for LESS than what I would have to pay others for an in shop install and a refurb with only a 1 year warranty. To top it all off I only had to wait 1 day for them to come out. Install took about an hour. After setting up the appointment tech called me about a hour prior letting me know he was on his way. Got here right on time, Everything went smooth from start to finish!!! I was a bit worried at first because asking for a quote I got a reply from a guy in Kansas of all places but it turned it wasn't a problem at all. Got all invoices, receipts, warranty promptly right on the money via email. Wow!! I mean I looked pretty much everywhere--Yelp, Craigslist, Classifieds on FB, Ebay, Google even and couldnt find a better deal. This really seems to be a real national company and not like others which just use contracted shops but claim to be national. It was a tough decision for me in part because my car is an 05 Civic so I was weighing getting a new battery or getting a new car. After getting the battery from Greentec I'm glad I chose the battery option!!! To top it all off again my car seems to be running better than it ever has before and Im getting much better mileage than I've ever had in the three plus years I've owned it. Just replaced our 06 Honda Civic hybrid battery here after considering the very few and very expensive options out there for rebuilds or replacements. If you're in the market for one, you already know Honda charges about 4k to do the service which was about twice the value of the car itself. We debated getting rid of the car but aren't in the position to do so. Plus the car is great otherwise. So here we are! They are corporate owned so that means they are pretty organized with billing and such. To make an appointment, you do need to put $500 down. The actual service only took about an hour. I hope that also means they stand behind their product. The guy working there said these batteries have been sold for about a year now and no one has complained about them. We went for the longer, 36 month warranty, which to me isn't very long. I'll definitely be updating my review towards the end of warranty to inform others about the product. Considering that most who own hybrids either haven't outlived the lifespan of their battery or they are still under warranty, this is still very new technology and privately owned hybrid specialists are scarce. Greentec exceeded our expectations! We called Toyota about replacing our hybrid battery on our Toyota Prius. It was going to cost us $100 to be sure that the either the battery or the controller were to blame for our warning light on and the car just not acting right. Then it would cost another $4000 if we had to replace the battery plus installation and $3000 plus installation if it is the controller or possibly it could be both. I found Greentec online ad and then checked the company reviews on Google and Yelp. I found the reviews were good and they are a large company with locations through out the west coast. They would do the diagnostics for free and would show how they did it and what it meant. Our local technician in Auburn was awesome. His name is Vlad, short for Vladimir. He was very helpful in getting the car off the trailer and back on as well as explained to me what was needed and the costs as well as benefits of different options. He was a breath of fresh air with no pressure to things that did not need doing. I knew all the costs in advance and when I arrived at the shop he checked things out on his computer. He made the needed repairs and replacements. The cost was exactly as quoted at $2300. That included diagnostics and installation labor and a 36 month warranty.
