I called to speak to a manager but never got one-so I'll relay it here. I don't like unsolicited sales spam and don't appreciate my personal info being shared with everyone there. Service here sucks. They take 2-3 hours just for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Every time I come to this location for my services they take most of the afternoon. I've been waiting for a windshield fix for over a month now and have heard absolutely nothing from a representative. It's highly annoying especially when you pay extra for a maintenance package that includes more than the basics. I got a great price for my vehicle make, model, and year. However, the customer service in maintenance sucks! It's said that a dealership receives most of its money from maintenance and up keep it vehicles. If this were true you'd figure every maintenance at dealerships would have exceptional customer service and actually stick to what they say. Needless to say I'm disappointed. read more

After buying my KIA I was told that I had a two year warranty on my car. Before I made my first payment, the clutch went out and I needed it replaced. They said that clutches weren't under warranty. They quoted me $1400 for repairs until I bitched and complained on the phone for over an hour. Then it was $967. Picked up my car after waiting 3 days for them to complete the repair and everything was stolen out of my vehicle. Cash, C.D.s and other personal items. These guys are dirtbags. read more

I work here as a sales person and we all strive with integrity we work very hard to make sure our customers are happy there will be always somebody who is not happy and complains you can't make everybody happy. The service department stays busy bring a book or take a Uber back home our place has Dad and Don who own it and they are wonderful folks . There are about 6 sales guys that have been there for 10 years or better if that was a rotten dealership I'm pretty sure those six salesman would not be still working there. read more

Well, thanks to Greenway Kia of Rivergate, I remember, in gut wrenching flashbacks, why I hate, and have avoided for years, car dealerships! Stay away, friends!!!! I am so disappointed in the dishonesty and level of customer service given at this dealership. My husband and I bought two cars in the last week from a "friend" who works for Kia. He seemed to handle everything, until my husband drove off the lot and ran out of gas on busy Gallatin Road, during rush hour. He had to push the Jeep he just bought into a gas station!!!!! When the gas cap was removed, there was visible rust. Our paperwork claimed the car had passed a thorough Inspection and our "friend", the salesman claimed the Jeep had NOT been sitting on the lot, but that someone had been driving it to keep it maintained. Hmm? How was the gas cap rusted on, I couldn't help but ask. No response. Was the manager horrified to hear this? Concerned that his salesperson was dishonest and cutting corners? Nope, could not have cared less. BOOM! All memories of car dealerships and shifty used car salesmen restored. What a disappointment! I hope the cars don't turn out to be disappointing, since the manager was clear that he was done with us and had no plans to make us happy or honor the claims made about the vehicles we purchased. My car has a wiring issue. I called ahead and made a profile in their system and told me they usually don't take walk ins but if I get there earlier enough they might squeeze me in. Whoever I spoke to didn't save it in the system. BUT when I got there earlier everyone was very friendly and they were able to look at my car. Was there for about 2 1/2 hours when they said they couldn't find the problem and it would take $600 just for the labor. Yikes!! After a few more minutes the nice receptionist came in and told me they found the issue and they were able to fix it for $130 total! Happy they took the time to check every option! I'll def go back if I have another Kia specific issue! read more

First of all I want to give praise to Matlock our sales person he did a good job. Everything else is bad at the dealership. When I took our vehicle in for a free oil change it took two and a half hours to finish. I complained to the service manager but nothing was done. We recently paid off our vehicle with KIA Motor Finance and was asked to bring in the proof of the payoff by Tim Jackson in Finance. I took in the letter and he told me it would take six to eight weeks before we received our GAP insurance refund check in the mail. After those eight weeks passed I called Tim back and he said that he would mail the check that day and that was three weeks ago. I feel like the dealership is ignoring me now because I've called them many times, left detailed voicemails with Tim Jackson and the GM but no responses. I called KIA Motor Finance and they said that it's out of their hands as did the GAP insurance company. Learn from my pain and stay away!!! I don't recommend this dealership. ****Update**** We finally received our GAP insurance check from the dealership. +1 star. read more

Very unprofessional. Gave us the run-around in a blatant attempt to sell us a new car above our price range. First, we inquired about a certain car. It turned out that it was at their rivergate location. Instead of telling us this, they said it "must've been sold" and tried to push a car double our budget. They also spent a long time talking amongst themselves and looking things up. They refused to show and/or feigned ignorance about several cars listed on their website. Presumably, they were trying to sell something more expensive or knew they weren't at their location. The next day, we called rivergate, and it was still available. On our way to view it, within an hour of calling, the agent called to say he sold it. They wasted our time for two days. read more

This has to be one of the worst dealerships! Customer service is terrible! You tell them the car payment you can make a month and then they double it! Set up a co-signer and then they make the co-signer the owner!!!!! Finance department doesn't return phone calls, and then gets irritated at you for calling trying to figure out what is going on!! Took an SUV here for a full inspection before buying it and were specifically told that the rotors were old but had a good 6 months left before they'd need to be replaced. We bought the SUV and took it on a short trip and the rotors started causing problems THE VERY NEXT DAY. Took it in somewhere else for repair and the mechanic said they were severely corroded and pitted and needed to be replaced right away and there was no way the dealership inspection could have missed it. We looked at them ourselves and have photos. Tried to contact Kia to complain but were told that we'd have to speak to the manager, who is only at this location for 1 hour each morning, during a time we can't get there because of work so of course we're just out of luck. Went in for a recall; ended up needing a front tire. Service called me explained to me what was needed. I gave permission to proceed with the new tire. The new tire cost was 142.17 with tax and labor. Alright no problem. Paid the cashier the amount I was told. After arriving home after work, I take a look at my receipt and realized that this tire that I purchased had cost me a house note. I was charged 1412.47! So immediately I call Kia of rivergate. After three attempts I finally speak with someone to get me to service department. Explained what had happened. They decided to refund me the amount that I was owed, only to charge me an additional 1217.00. So my 142.17 tire has cost me 2540.00! Return to Kia the next morning to speak with someone in person. Was directed to Scott the manager; who was not much help, nor apologetic at all. Told me that there was nothing he could do and for me to go and speak with the cashier who was the only one that could fix it. So money will eventually be refunded to my account, however because of multiple mistakes made by this dealership, my account is now on hold until this is sorted out. But hey, no loss to them they still got their 142.17 for this tire. I guess that's all that matters to them. Very disappointed to have been with this company for several years and to be treated with little to no respect for a mistake that was made by them. 2 days age my wife found the 2017 Kia Sorrento she had been looking for while I was at work. Over the phone the salesman acted like my questions were so annoying. He just kept going around my questions like a politician spouting off facts and specs about the car. Probably just new in sales so whatever. We went through with the deal. on the way home my wife gets pulled over for a taillight out. I just drove it for the first time and the breaks are literally grinding. They clearly didn't do any check in this vehicle before they sold it. I called to get these issues looked at and the soonest they can get me in is 4 days....hopefully they'll make things right. **My ADVISE**Go somewhere else where they value you and your money. My brother went with me to cosign, turns out, he's the owner of the car I make payments on! They told us I was the owner and he was the cosigner. When I went to take his name off as the cosigner after paying for a year and half, I was informed my name was no where on the deed! They took advantage of two young people trying to buy a car! Also one day after buying my Kia soul 2 tires busted! I went straight to the dealership and the manager was very very rude to me and said It was my fault! I financed a car 2 years ago through Kia Rivergate with no issues. I was pushed into a car I didn't want (stick shift) but fine, whatever. I have had a 100% payment rating since then. I started getting emails nearly every day saying, please come in and trade up your car! Finally, I came in just to see if I could get the same car, nothing fancy but an automatic. I was pushed and swindled and put into a 2015 (not even a new car) covered in scratches for 10K more than my last car! My payment was even bumped up $200 more a month! I filed a complete with Department of Commerce and I got a snide letter back from Kia calling me a liar. This is my response to the lady handling my case. I got the paperwork with Kia's response and every bit of it is an out and out lie. I did NOT know about the payments or who my lender even was until I threatened to bring the news station with me and show up at the dealership. I still have the email that I sent the general manager when I was trying for 2 weeks to get someone to contact me. I called every day and left messages, talked to people on the website and emailed numerous times and no one responded until I threatened to show up with the news. I was told when I was signing the paperwork that it would be $50 more a month not $200 more. I was NOT told that my father-in-law was the purchaser, he was always referred to as the cosigner and none of the paper work was filled out when we signed. I did not "show up to buy a car" I came in because I had gotten repeated emails saying I qualified to turn in my car for a new one with the same payment. The entire thing was rushed and full of lies. I am paying for two cars but I only have one and my father-in-law who lives on social security cannot purchase a car for himself because this shows up on his credit as his car! This car was never his nor will it ever be his. They also put all of my registration in his name (they promised they wouldn't). They knew what they did because after 30 days they had me come and get another temporary tag but were by no means in a hurry to fix the registration. The car has gouges of paint missing on the front and back and scratches from end to end like it was gone over with sandpaper and this was the ONLY car they showed me that night. I was completely scammed and I want something more than a rude letter from them with no restitution being made. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM KIA RIVERGATE! They will lie, swindle and push you into a crap deal and then avoid you until you have to make an ass of yourself to get someone to call you back. read more

It doesn't even deserve the one star that I had to give it in order to leave this review. This lot, or maybe it's the management, isn't worth the effort. I have tried numerous ways to speak to someone (knowledgeable) concerning a check that they were supposed to be sending me. I have tried calling, email, the web site's "Chat" program - all to no avail. The 'manager' has always "Just stepped away from his desk", emails are nothing more then automated "Buy HERE!" or "Thanks for you Business!" but none of the people that I emailed took the time to read my complaints - this is shown by the emails I received in return. I emailed my concerns/complaints/problem, in return I got (2) emails. The first thanked me for coming and shopping there, the second I received three whole days later "Congratulating" me on my purchase. I have been waiting for over three months for a check that I was supposed to get in 'about' a week. The people here are clueless. I am tired of trying to get my check, I am calling the BBB. read more

The salesman was very nice until I said I needed to go home and look at my finances, then he became pushy and they decided that I could get the new car instead of a used one. The car had a listed price of $18,745. (This listing was found in my trunk about ten days later. Don't know how it got there and wasn't with my other paperwork.) I traded in a good vehicle, KIA Sedona 2005, and when asked what they were giving me for it, no one seemed to know, but that I could get this new 2016 KIA Forte within the amount that I had been asked if I could afford to pay monthly. By the time all was said and done, I paid down $1000 in cash and my vehicle, but the final amount that was listed on the top of my closing contract was $4000 more than the car listed. Oh, they gave me $2000 rebate and only $1000 for my 2005. That was the $4000 mark up almost to the penny. When I went out to look at the car listing price it was already taken off the window and no one seemed to know where it was. By the time they added back tags and title (which has the wrong spelling of my name on) charges, docking fee, taxes and who knows what all else, I'm paying more than $6000 over the listing price. And that $4000 that they so generously deducted for my trade in and cash down payment was just a paper drill to make them more money. I'm still paying $2000 over the list price. I might as well have just handed them my vehicle and $1000 cash and walked off. Oh, yeah, looks like that is exactly what I did. I'm still trying to get my name spelled correctly. I was very adamant that my name be spelled correctly, and someone at KIA Tags and Title Took it upon themselves to change it. I was also told that the finance company that approved me was one owned by my insurance company. Funny thing, they've never heard of them. Now, the Service Department at Universal KIA has always been good to me and very helpful. They even managed to return some tools that I had accidentally left in my old vehicle. I have to say that the Service Department is worth going back for, but I will never buy another vehicle there. I got a $3000 voucher from Franklin KIA within two days of buying this vehicle for my trade in of the 2005 Sedona. Had I been allowed to leave to go home and think about it and make sure that I could swing the expense of the new vehicle, I would have seen this voucher and never traded at Universal. Being a widow I seem to be the target for being taken advantage of when making large purchases. I love the little Forte, but had I known that they would only give me $1000 for my Sedona, I would have kept both vehicles. They sold my vehicle within two weeks, after telling me it was going to auction. read more

This review is just for the service department. I have purchased two autos in 4 years. I like the sales department, especially Marcus. When I had an issue (under warranty) with my car, they ordered a part and needed the service. I was told that since it would take a couple of days and a ride back to my home would be ok. Every time I tried to make an appointment, I was told by either of the two females that THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE, we don't run a delivery service! Each time the sales said yes and service said no. 6 weeks later, my car blew two tires because of the issue. And no compensation for the blown tires that could have been prevented. I couldn't get the two departments to converse. The service ladies, portrayed one as the service manager which she is not. They were rude, inconsiderate, not helpful, and liars. I finally went down there to settle this. They got the real service manager (DB) in on it. Finally, I was able to leave the car and brought home. The service department had run this con and I called them on it. Sales gave me a car to dive which was very nice and appreciated. Service didn't give one little poop about me or my car. About five days later, I got a call and my car was ready. All is well, right? No, the service department did not bother to lock my car and things were stolen. I was so angry and was told that they would replace the items. Car was fixed but, I was made to feel like they were doing me a favor by fixing it. Maybe they did but after the agreement is made, don't make customers feel like the "service" they got is a favor. So, after a week, no call and I NEED my GPS to function. I called them and they acted like this was new to them. This service department needs training to make Kia a good dealership. Or, hire people that want to work with a company that represents the full KIA product! read more

Saleman was very rude... they had a sticker on their car labeling it a "Q Certified" vehicle, but when I asked about specific things I was told that it "Couldn't possibly be Q Certified even though the sticker was on the car." They said cars with over 100k miles are never eligible, yet they had that sticker on the windshield. The saleman and the manager were both completely rude and disrespectful. They hung up on me on the phone and when I drove up to test drive, walked away from me when I asked about the warranty included on "Q Certfied" vehicles. STAY AWAY... He was very friendly , answered some questions and sent an email application to have all the paper work started before I even arrived. He ask me what I wanted and what sort of payments I was comfortable with. We test drove a couple of cars. We compared pros and cons and they gave me a fair trade-in. Kia at Rivergate sold a "lemon" car to my daughter. She is a single mother to a three-year-old daughter. She put down $3, 000 dollars tax refund money. She was promised before the purchase " check engine light " will be fixed after she purchased the car. She took the car back and the car stayed in the shop for several days. Telling her since its a Volkswagen, the car has to go another shop because they will not be able to fix the car. Then Kia informed her the repairs will not be covered and the estimated cost first $3,000 and recently estimated $1,500.00. She called a number about her warranty and was told Kia obligated to fix some repairs but they have refused. It breaks my heart because she is trying to make a life for her and her daughter. Now its questionable if she will move because she has to save money for car repairs. She has a full-time job and now she is having to find transportation to and from work to home. I am sure she is not the only person they have mistreated and its fraud. read more

My initial rating was higher due to my salesperson. However, before I wrote it my experience changed drastically. I started the whole transaction or purchase the beginning of January. They were to pay off the loan on my trade in and then complete the paperwork for me. First I had to call them back due to the lender of the trade in called me about payment not being made. This is when I learned it wasn't taken care of. When I called the dealership, they sent me to their admin offices. They told me that they hadn't received the payoff yet and were waiting on that to submit the check for payoff. This went back and forth for about 6 weeks before the check was sent off. I called the bank and there was still a balance for the payoff. I had to call Kia again and they couldn't give me an answer for why. A week later I found it to finally be paid. I kept waiting for my tag. It never came. I kept getting the run around about where the tag was and Kia couldn't give me an answer. I finally got tired of the run around and went to the police department to report the tag lost/stolen and then had to go to the DMV to get a new tag. I just two days ago got this all resolved. Remind you, bought the first week of January. Nine weeks to complete this transaction. Never buy from this dealer so that you have to deal with their admin offices. Obviously, someone isn't doing their job correctly. read more
