My yard is on the smaller side, but Greenway Landscaping did an amazing job turning a landscape nightmare into something beautiful. I waited a while to post this review because I wanted to see how everything held up after a bad experience with another turf company. Alex from Greenway came in and immediately identified all the issues. His project manager, Eric, was always present and kept me updated. They repaired a large sinkhole along the side of my house, replaced the water flashing along the house, replaced all the irrigation pipes, addressed drainage problems, re-leveled pavers, used the proper soil, and completely replaced the turf. The turf installed by Greenway is still beautiful over a year later--the blades have maintained their shape, it's soft, stays cool to the touch, has no drainage or sinkage issues, and does not retain any pet odor. In contrast, the previous turf retained odor despite following the other company's recommendations. Alex and his team, including his office staff, were professional, thorough, and extremely detail-oriented. They also removed the stone ground cover, replaced the drip line sprinkler system and amended the soil before planting a new tree, shrubs and ground cover. They then rounded it out with a new landscape lighting system. Lizette was our estimator and contact person. Steve and Jose ran the show on site. We hired Greenway, after realizing our original contractor was completely inept and unethical. Greenway came in right after our backyard and a good portion of our front yard had been demoed. They were able to get up to speed very quickly and gave us confidence right away that they were doing an outstanding job. And they did! The project manager that Alex (one of the owners) assigned to our project was Eric Lyon and he was extremely conscientious. He would call us every morning to confirm what was going to happen that day and let us know when he would be there. We could ask all of our questions so we always felt in the loop and part of the process. The crews that came during different stages were all skilled and considerate. Always checking in with us to ensure we were happy with the results. We had extensive pavers installed, a large barbecue island, a patio cover, a new gate and turf installed as well. We also had them build a planter wall that they covered with beautiful Italian tile that we had chosen. They had to lay drains and install a new irrigation system so it was a big job. I saw Greenway's ad about landscape design in various Home magazines. I just transitioned to a new manager for an AirBnB Short Term Rental (STR) house in Temecula Wine Country, who has a big vision for a pickleball court, basketball and tetherball, putting green, and a gazebo and place for yoga classes and disc golf. Me and my manager met with Alex (the son) and his design guy (who only does designs for Greenway Landscape, Alex told me), at the property. Alex did tell me before we met, that he can give me verbal prices when he comes over to the house, and if I want to look into it more, and consider hiring them, a 3D professional plan will cost $2500, and then I can do with it what I want, like use it to get other bids apples with apples. But when they came out, the $2500 became almost $5000. When I exclaimed to Alex that he had told me $2500, he said" Yeah but I thought you were only gonna do a pickleball court and a putting green". Geez I would not pay $2500 for plans for even just those two things alone. It was a total waste of time, because I ended up getting no prices for anything we talked about, except one thing, which I already forgot what that was, and he says he has to pay $4500 to FIND OUT WHAT THEIR PRICES WILL BE, and that he already gave me ONE PRICE.... like I was so lucky to get that one price, already! Me and my new manager were shocked, and mad that it was such a waste of our time. I am glad I left early, but my manager talked with them further for a long time, but at that time, he didn't know that the only "proposal" they were gonna give us, was the $4500 invoice to FIND OUT what their prices would be for what we had in mind. I told my new STR manager that I'd rather put the $4500 toward the actual work, and he agreed. Cos when I asked Alex if the $4500 was gonna be credited to the work being done, Alex said "No, I have to pay my design guy, waving his had toward the design person, but you get to keep the design". read more

Greenway just finished installing pavers in our driveway and front walk and we are THRILLED with the final result! We've had a million compliments from neighbors - it really looks great! Having undertaken a few large renovation projects over the past several years, I can attest that Alex and the Greenway team are top notch. They are fantastic for a few reasons. First, they do beautiful work. They are highly skilled with careful attention to detail. Mistakes in something like pavers are not easy to fix - any problems are permanent, so competence is key. The Greenway crew knows what they're doing, and it shows! Second, they are professional. Alex, the owner of the company, and Eric, our project manager, were both very communicative and responsive. We had quick answers to all of our questions before, during and after the project, knew exactly when the project was starting, what the sequencing would be, etc. The crew came every day during the project and stayed from the morning until the end of the day. They were efficient, happy to answer questions, and very pleasant to work with. The office staff was polished and professional and made the process easy. Third, they are client focused. We came in with a vision (ish) of what we wanted, but not a ton of knowledge regarding what the options were. Alex was good at getting a sense of what we wanted, offering suggestions and guidance, but never pushing. We truly felt like it was a 'pick what you like best' situation with no hidden agenda or pressure. Eric, likewise, was knowledgeable, very easy to work with, and super helpful during the process. Where issues or problems popped up (as they always do during any renovation) he was unflappable and remained solution-focused - we felt like we were in good hands. After years of planning, I met with contractors to re-landscape my front and side yard, build an enclosed courtyard and freshen up the back. After interviewing 3 other contractors, I knew Greenway was the one for me. Alex immediately understand exactly what I wanted and offered suggestions that no one else had. I could immediately tell we were on the same page re: my vision - something other contractors struggled with. He also arranged for samples to be dropped off at my house, which was a huge time saver and allowed me to look at the materials in my yard. As with every project, we had to pivot a few times but it all went seamlessly. If you like concrete with lots of cracks, artificial turf with highly visible seams, or yard drains that run uphill, then Greenway is for you. I hired Greenway to do a complete re-landscape of my property because of the outstanding job they did for my neighbor. But instead of the A-team, I got the D-team. The project manager was seldom here, which left it to me to spot and report mistakes. My complaints about the lack of supervision were ignored by Scott and Alex. This is the third property where I have replaced all the hardscape, and the first where the concrete cracked in places where it shouldn't have cracked. In my previous concrete installations, the contractor used a plate vibrator or a vibratory rammer to compact the soil, whereas Greenway used only a garden hose or a hand compactor before installing the rebar. When I questioned the lack of compaction, I was told it was sufficient. It clearly wasn't as evidenced by the extensive cracking that occurred. After repeated call backs to try to improve the artificial turf seams in the front yard, Greenway finally relented and replaced all the artificial turf in the front yard (using the A-team). For this, I give them a second star. You may get lucky with Greenway and get an exceptional job. Just remember that it's a crap shoot. And they are very expensive - with very high overhead. I was willing to pay the premium just to minimize the hassle. That didn't work out so well for me. After spending over 60k for the demo, concrete, and artificial turf covered in the contract, I elected to hire someone else for the planting and mulching, and they did a fantastic job at a fraction of what Greenway had quoted. read more

This company broke three sprinkler heads in our yard, so we sent payment in with a letter to explain what happened. No response. A couple months later, they sales called us, and again we explained to them what happened. The response? "So, I guess you won't use us again." NOPE! Why did I send payment when they broke them? I own a business, and that's how we operate. Hope? Respect? Customer service is paramount for me? I actually thought it was not a big deal to remedy. I was wrong. (Yelp really needs to implement the zero star policy.) Too bad this is the only company in town who aerates lawns, so next time, to the rental yard. Do it yourself! read more

I had the guys from Greenway install artificial turf and a few putting greens in my backyard. Let me say it was a pleasure to work with them from the beginning to end. They were not the cheapest price I got but I feel you really get what you pay for. All the installers have years of experience which I could tell by the work. Alex is very professional. He oversaw the project and he came up with ideas I never would have thought of. They also installed a Bocce ball court. So glad I made the decision to use Greenway. I had Greenway come out for a quote on our backed up irrigation drainage problem last week. I agreed to have them come to do the "Discovery" work to assess the potential cost. Yes there is a fee to do that as it usually takes them 4 hours to do a thorough discovery assessment. Well they came out and unfortunately couldn't completely do the full assessment due to major blockage. I was at work and assumed it took them the full 4 hours. Well as it turned out it only took 2 hours since they couldn't do any more work and that is all they charged me for! A dishonest company would have charged me for the full 4 hours and I wouldn't have thought twice to pay it. So thank you Greenway as honesty and integrity are critical for your business success! When I got home from work however after they were gone I noticed the side faucet that they used to pump water into the line was leaking water in our back patio. I called Greenway immediately and they were able to send one of their guys back out and within minutes they replaced the leaking knob for FREE as in no charge! That is what I call standing behind your work! I would, and I WILL be referring everyone I know to Greenway as like a good honest Mechanic it is important to have a good and honest landscaping company to do business with! Terrible service and they treated me like a criminal. They aerated the lawn and broke two expensive sprinklers. My gardener had to make the repairs in order to keep the grass from dying. When I told Greenway I wanted a portion of my money refunded ($40 of $70), they wanted photos and told me I should have let them repair the damages. And I should have reported it sooner. They wanted the photos downloaded to their email and not sent from my cell phone. They used obstacles to try to get rid of me. They showed no remorse for their negligence. They made it sound like it was my fault and didn't show any responsibility for their damages. read more

Called last week to find an irrigation specialist to give me an estimate for repairs on a one acre yard. The receptionist was at best confusing through most of our conversation, but quickly said it was $100 just to evaluate but that it would be applied to work. I agreed thinking at bare minimum they could replace some sprinklers with that. Made an appt but waited all morning then finally called to find they had no reference of me. They then stated they could put me back on the schedule for more than a week away instead of trying to work within my schedule since it was the error. Sorry to say from first call to last call customer service doesn't seem to apply here. read more
