Took my vehicle in that wouldn't shift out of park. After completion I noticed a couple things. They left some cardboard packaging in the engine bay. This could have caused a fire or other damage if it had hit some of the moving components. My screwdriver went missing that was either misplaced by the tech or stolen by a vagrant in their lot. This wasn't a big deal until they refused to replace my toolkit as originally promised when I first phoned this in. When I came back in, the shop manager scoured the shop for a couple minutes and shoved a non-fitting piece into my toolbox. I turned down the non fitting replacement offer. Be wary of coming here for vehicle service, if this is how they treat customers I question how much care is spent on vehicles behind the scenes. read more

I wish to give a shout out to Parker and the team at Greg's Japanese Auto, Covington. Brought in our 2011 Avalon for issues with air conditioning. They worked the odd problem with the A/C until it was fixed and I also got a brake job. But the mechanic noted that it was leaking oil from work done the previous week at my dealership. Parker encouraged us to take it back to the dealership for follow-up when Greg's could have taken that business for themselves, which we did and the dealership made good on a (honest mistake) problem with the work at no charge. Parker at Greg's Auto also provided additional help to us on the AC as well as some oil to get me to the dealership with the car at no charge. Greg's Automotive was extremely honest and reliable with our vehicle and we'll be going back for sure. Great customer service all around! read more

My battery light came on while out in the snow with my older Avalanche, my oldest yet very reliable vehicle. Being out of my neighborhood, during extremely busy holiday season, covid labor issues, and the second snow day, I was worried about getting any help while 10 miles from my neighborhood and mechanic. I had called another close option that for sure sold batteries but they did not give me any hope that they could take me in that day. Greg's employee, Phillip was very friendly and encouraging that they could help. He came and jumped my dead battery, and tested it within the hour. Knowing it was at least the battery (5+ years old) and possibly the alternator, I was thankful that they were willing to get it done as soon as possible. Mike gave me a fair price for the work that was comparable to my usual mechanic in West Seattle. It was easy to walk to lunch and even closer to the mall entrance. Buyers beware: Go somewhere else, this place is toxic There was 0 positives about my visit. I had an extremely poor first experience, from a pushy salesman (Martin) who patronized me from the first moment we started talking all the way to having to bring my car back, because after they worked on it, new problems started happening. When I brought it back very reluctantly the 2nd time, as I was waiting for Martin to get off the phone, he continued to drive his point home over the phone until he finally said "oh yeah, that does sound broken, just bring it back in" ......... Hmm I see a trend. I actually felt so uncomfortable and deceived here after I walked out the 2nd time for a dropoff, I walked back in, asked for my keys to get something out of my car and then I left. This is your classic, pushy car salesman, over priced and over repair shop. They are in the middle of capitol hill banking on all the city folk who know nothing about cars. While they do know a lot about Japanese engines, you will pay extremely high prices and from the sounds of it, get your car back with more problems than you had in the first place. They charged me 20 dollars a spark plug!!! For the same denso irridium that you buy at AutoZone for 7$! Not to mention, Martin was very tricky about how he worded everything and when I asked how much the spark plugs were and he told me the ridiculous price, I said I could just do myself. He said "well you already said to do it," which I did but only if everything passed inspection as it was a new car that i was having inspected before buying- which we spoke nothing about the inspection before him telling me it was going to cost 90+$ for spark plugs. There's plenty more to this overall extremely poor experience but hopefully I've got my point across. And to give credit to my review I work on all my own cars and have my whole life. read more

I have taken my Honda cars to Greg's for over 15 years these guys are so great they're super honest they tell you what the problem is and then they fix it they show you the parts if you want to. DO NOT GO TO GREG'S JAPANESE AUTO Greg's is terrible. I will NEVER take my car back to them. Because of their poor choices, i didnt have my car for almost an entire month. My car had 3 engines within three weeks. You would think that after paying $3200 in repairs on a $4000 car, you would have a really great running car. They replaced: the engine, the transmission, clutch slave cylinder, and did maintenence stuff. An hour after picking it up the first time, the car died on me after they failed to fix a loud rattle from the engine (which was my original reason for bringing it in). So they had the car towed back, and told me they would fix it for free. Awesome. I get the car back a week later, and have it for 4 days before this "new" engine they put in started making the EXACT SAME NOISE. It turns out this "new" engine had the exact same problem as the first one. So now they are on the third engine. When they were putting the third engine in, they told me I would have it by the coming friday (this was on tuesday), and come friday, the car still isn't ready. they said they were having trouble tuning it, and wanted to make sure it was running well before they got it to me. so they kept it over the weekend, and on monday called me saying "they weren't sure why they couldn't tune it." Now let me preface the next part by saying: I have no technical training. I spoke with the mechanic and said "are there any aftermarket parts in the engine that might be throwing it off? camshaft or ecu maybe?" to which the mechanic replied "no, we checked all of that. We will figure it out by the end of the day. Well they didnt, and called me back the next morning. "turns out there was an aftermarket camshaft in the engine, and you're car will be ready by this afternoon." you have got to be kidding me.... So this all happened this past June of 2011, and I am now posting this review because: 1: my car runs terribly. I have spent nearly $2000 replacing parts that Greg's replaced not even a year ago, and my car runs like s**t 2: to warn anyone, and everyone who is thinking about taking their vehicle to greg's. Here's the deal: I can't point to any one thing that Greg's did wrong, but I'm not sure I can thank them either. I walked away (and I did walk away) from the shop feeling they'd done the bare minimum to get by and were not above bleeding their customers a bit. The first time I took my 240SX in, I told the desk guy that I thought the O2 sensor was bad. They didn't believe me and switched out the TPS first. Later they called and said, yeah, the O2 was also bad. Since they'd missed it on the original diagnosis, they gave me a small price break---though I still paid for the TPS, so I didn't come out ahead or anything. Bill = about $700. About a month later, it became obvious the car needed new brakes and rotors, which Greg's installed for another $700. Within a week after getting the car back, it developed a death rattle in the front end and a nasty pull to the right. I took the car back to Greg's. They checked it for free, then informed me the death rattle was in the exhaust system and the pull was because they rotated my tires (they should have asked) when they did the brakes. They couldn't fix either problem and they didn't offer to rotate my tires back. I didn't press it. I figured they'd try to charge me for it and I didn't want that cost or hassle. So, I took the car to Bucky's, which a Greg's employee recommended--albeit somewhat under duress. Bucky's fingered my catalytic converter, which they replace for about $170. And thank patsy they did, because otherwise I might never have discovered my clogged friggin' fuel injector. 'Course, I didn't know that was the problem at first. I just knew the car was missing, so I took it back to Bucky's. And while I was standing in their lobby, glaring at a poster that said, "Catalytic converters don't break by themselves: you probably have an engine problem," a mechanic came in and cheerfully informed me that, yeah, I had an engine problem. It seemed like the fuel injectors, but they couldn't diagnose or fix them. They recommended Greg's and didn't charge me for checking. Pong. Back at Greg's, Ken at the front desk suggested they could do an hour of diagnosis, but they'd probably end up recommending a tune up. WTF. I replied that, since the car had been tuned up just a couple of months prior, I'd have a problem with that recommendation. Ken was diffident, and I didn't even share that Bucky's had also confirmed that a tune up wouldn't be necessary. One $85 service-hour later, Ken said they hadn't figured out the problem, but it was probably the fuel injectors. They wanted another hour of testing, followed by a $350 injector cleaning, which they'd have to outsource to another shop. For about $440, I could actually buy four new injectors, which I mentioned, but Ken resisted, so there we were. Now, at a minimum, I'm looking at $170+ dollars to get to where I'd been for free with Bucky's a couple of days earlier. I mention this to Ken, who just paused a beat and said icily, "Why don't you just come pick up your car right now." That was it. It was like they were saying: "Enough with the cost justification. If you're not going to rubber-stamp our recommendations, we don't want you as a customer." Actually, the break up wasn't quite that clean. We eventually settled on one more hour of diagnosis and I would just come get the car. So they did (inconclusive, of course) , and I did, and I will never go there again. If your car is fairly new AND you don't know anything about cars AND the problem is such that a shop can just plug your car into a diagnostic machine and switch out a part or two, Greg's is probably fine. Otherwise, you're better off finding a shop that cares. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I took my Subaru there for tune up and within days the check engine light came on. I called them and took it in. I was told something about oxygen sensor..that's it not anything major. They did reset it and the light was off when I drove off the lot. Should have been the end of story... but no. The light came on again. And again they wanted me to take it in. Now fast forward to time for my tab renewal and emission test. I failed. No, correction, my Subaru failed the test. My bad for not doing it until it was FIXED by Greg's Auto! Because we took it to Werkshop in Redmond and $280 later, they fixed it and my Surb passed the emission test. Even the Werkshopper was puzzled why Greg's Auto didn't just fix it. Word to Greg, if you are going to have a store, or two, or three, bearing your name, I would highly recommend that you tell your peeps to present you with pride. The very least they can do is to learn the correct spelling of your paying customers, too. read more

I initially took my truck to Greg's to have a muffler replaced. another shop had quoted me around $320 and said that because mine was a unique trim model, the muffler was extremely rare and would have to be shipped from florida. Cregs quoted me about $330 and said they could have the part that afternoon. also they were closer, so I went with Greg's. well, Greg's eventually figured out what the other shop already knew and called me back saying they couldn't get the part, but they could just weld on a more common model, and charged me the same amount. not perfect but it worked out and didn't cost me extra. they got it done in a day. here's where it gets bad. I also had them look at the brakes, which I could tell needed work (I had just bought the truck). they quoted me something in excess of $1600 for the work, including new pads and shoes, new front calipers (leaking cylinders), turning rotors, new wheel cylinders in the rear (also leaking) and new rear drums on both sides because the pads were completely gone and wearing metal on metal. I thought this was a ludicrous amount, and asked a mechanic friend of mine to take a look for a second opinion. here's what he found: front pads needed replacement, one caliper was bad, (but because it had a stuck piston, nothing was leaking brake fluid.) the other caliper was fine. on the rear, pads were bad but only one side was worn metal to metal and I got it turned at a shop so neither needed replacement. also again, the wheel cylinders were not leaking brake fluid and seemed to work fine. the long and short of it was that Greg's had quoted me for replacing parts they had obviously not even looked at, and as far as I can tell were straight up lying about the leaking brake fluid. add to that their parts markup was like 20-100% from what I found elsewhere, and they had recommended work that clearly didn't needed to be done. I ended up getting it all done for around $500. I'd rate them lower but they don't seem to do *bad* work, just way overpriced when they can. read more

Bottom Line: OVERPRICED! Repair: Radiator in 1999 Subaru Outback Cost: $590 dollars!! (other shops in the area will do the SAME job for around $300-350) Problems: Even after raping my wallet, they FORGOT to plug in one of the two cooling fans! I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. It would have been cheaper to TOW my vehicle 15 miles to Burien. (2.5hrs labor $230, radiator $228, cap $18, thermostat and gasket $25, Coolant $15. My issue is the 2.5 hours labor.) read more

'97 Mitsubishi Galant had a broken shifter cable. The part was incredibly unique and was no longer stocked by the manufacturer. Greg's worked with me to find the part. Between the efforts of both of us, the part was finally located and the car was expertly repaired. These guys DO speak your car's language. They know what they're doing and just as importantly, they are friendly & helpful and will not stop until they have done everything they can to help you. I recommend them highly and will be taking my car back again. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO GREG'S JAPANESE AUTO! Thia place is terrible. I Wish I'd read the reviews before taking my car there. My car, an Infiniti Q45, had two error codes (one for an oxygen sensor and one for P0400 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction). Though my car appeared to be running fine, I needed to get these codes cleared to pass the emissions test. I brought by car in and they replaced the oxygen sensor ($300) and "cleaned" the EGR system ($500+). They also found that my engine coolant was leaking so I had that fixed ($600). All in all I spend over $1,900 there. One day later the P0400 code returned so I called to bring the car back in. I brought my car in and then received a call saying they "never diagnosed what was causing the P0400 code" and want me to pay $107 for the labor to diagnose the problem. Why did I just spent $600 for you to "clean the EGR system" if that wasn't the problem? This is incredibly frustrating. I spent $600 on something that apparently didn't need to be done and now they want me to spend another $107 just to figure out what the problem really is (and then presumably more to fix correct it. Thanks, but no thanks Greg's, AWESOME customer service. read more

I went into Greg's in Seattle for the first time yesterday. I had attempted to make an appointment over on the company website. I did not hear back from the shop after I had submitted my appointment request. I called the shop on the day of the appointment and they confirmed the time I had requested. The person over the phone explained they had phone and email issues, as to why no one had contacted me to confirm the appointment. I was asked to bring the car in an hour before my appointment. I did so at 9:00 AM, but my car was not completed until after 4 PM. The work I had requested was a simple oil change and an inspection of the breaks, battery and suspension. The cost of the oil change was over $50.00. I felt the charges were too high for a simple oil change, and I reviewed the invoice but I found only the charge for the oil change. I was told the shop was down a person, hence the long delay for my car. Never the less, I find it poor business to charge over $50.00 for an oil change that took over 7 hours to complete. read more

Greg's is competent but pushes over-servicing the car. My HID light went out, they quoted replacing two parts for about $800, my second opinion quoted just one part which fixed it for half the cost. Greg's also pushed replacing the shocks due to age even though they had no issue. On the flip side the work is good, they have shuttle service, and good follow up. I'm sure some people will prefer their maintenance approach but I don't. read more

Greg's Japanese Auto came out on top in an unfortunate conflict of mixed messages surrounding my 98 Tacoma's failure to pass the emissions test. After my truck failed its initial emissions test, I had to take it in to get it repaired or get a waiver. The one thing I failed to realize and which Greg's failed to explain to me was that I only needed a maintenance quote for more than $150 to qualify for the waiver. I was initially under the impression that I had to actually have at least $150 worth of work done first. As a result, I ended up spending $600 to get a malfunctioning charcoal filter replaced. In hindsight, I probably would have authorized the full repair even if I knew I just needed the quote because I would rather have a fully operational vehicle and I had the available funds. So, I don't really hold it against Greg's for failing to clearly communicate my options. However, had I been scraping the bottom to pay for the repairs, I would have been very upset. When I picked my Tacoma up from the shop, the check engine light was still on. The guy behind the counter told me that it would turn off automatically after I had driven a couple hundred miles. He told me it was illegal for them to reset it. This seemed odd to me since I had just had the light reset by the Toyota Dealership earlier in the fall. The guy from Greg's went on to assure me that they had fixed the problem. Because I had been assured that the problem was fixed, you can imagine my surprise when I failed my emissions retest. The guy at the emissions test center told me that it was the same error and that maybe Greg's had just forgotten to reset the computer. When I mentioned that they told me it was illegal to do so, the test center guy told me he had never heard such a thing. Well, I got my waiver to get my new tabs, but was feeling miffed and worried that I had just blown $600 on nothing. When I called Greg's to find out what the deal was, they reiterated their former statement and offered to let me speak directly to the emissions specialist who did the work. The specialist walked me through exactly what he did and the explained in more detail how the reset system worked. He went on to explain that the workers at the test center were not authorized to give maintenance advice and that they could be fined for doing so. He once again assured me that the light would go off eventually. I decided to reserve judgment and yelpitude until I drove my truck a little more. Then, as I was making my way home from Lynnwood today, the light turned off. Greg's wins. read more

Greg's took care of the nail in my tire quickly and for free--after over an hour of driving around trying to find anywhere that would help. I'd been advised Discount Tire would fix me up right away as a walk-in, but they turned me away without an appointment. Another small place wasn't able to do it because of the nail location in the tire. Nearly drove home defeated but last second decision to pull in here was the best I made all day. Thanks! read more

This place has mechanics who I trust. I called in with a problem, my SRS light had come on, and when I spoke with Martin he asked me two questions over the phone about a possible diagnosis or reason the light came on. I, knowing little about cars, didn't quiet understand the questions and so he suggested I come in. He was able to look at the car right there on the spot and ran a complementary diagnostics test to see if it was a code issue. After doing some more research, Martin found out that it was my seatbelt that was covered under warranty! Best experience I have ever had. I will tell all my friends/family about this- Greg's has mechanics you can trust! See them. read more

Firstly, even though it appears some of the Greg's 8 locations are listed separately here, reviewers are not specifying which location they are reviewing. It's the employees that make a service organization good or bad so that can vary widely from location to location. This review is for Greg's I-5/Stewart. This is the only Greg's location I have ever used. I would like to urge other reviewers of Greg's to state the location they are reviewing, and/or choose the yelp entry for the location they are reviewing. I have taken my 99 Camry there since I got it in around 2002 and I would say my satisfaction level has been 95%. I am very picky so 95% is what I would consider excellent so am giving them 5 stars. I think only once did they not have my car ready on the same day promised and that was because they did not get a part from a supplier when promised. I would say their prices are a little less than dealers, more than some smaller shops but I think there is a consistency of customer service and quality of work that is worth the extra money. Once when I needed a timing belt, water pump and one other item I can't remember the name of at the same time, and I thought it was a bit steep, I got quotes from two dealers which were a couple of hundred dollars lower and Greg's matched the price. They have a shuttle service which has always been timely. Bottom line is I would recommend them to anyone. read more

( April 9,2018) I brought my car in to have them look for a mysterious noise in the front end. They worked on it for a couple hours and called me to say they couldn't find anything wrong. There was no charge for the diagnosis. They could have told me anything and charged me for something that was not even needed. These people are scumbags. I took my honda in for a leak and was charged over a grand and didnt even get the issue fixed. First time they said it was leaking in two places and quoted me on the job. When I was ready to pick it up the manager Larry says they found a leak in the rear main seal between the motor and the transmission and quoted the job for almost 900 dollars. I called back on different day for a different issue and they had already written notes on stuff they could potentially sell me on. In the end the issue was they took out the gasket for the motor tank out. Either they neither inspected it the first time or they never double checked their work. Either way I was screwed paying over a thousand dollars and still had a leaky car. read more

No longer will I bring any vehicle to Greg's for any repairs. Recently my beloved Nissan Xterra unfortunately blew its engine, and I trusted Greg's to purchase a used motor and install it. The initial bid was for just over $5k installed. Kinda high, but I absolutely love my truck and didn't want to deal with the hassle of finding a new vehicle. They had it for about a week and a half. Over the course of this time, I received numerous phone calls from Martin informing me that the manifolds were cracked, knock sensor was bad, catalytic converter needed replacement, etc. Unforeseen costs continued to pile up. In the end, it cost me over $8k. Not impressed. He also informed me that the a/c (which worked fine previously) wouldn't hold a charge. He offered to replace the "leaking suction hose" at no labor cost for over $300. A new oem part costs merely $53, with about ten minutes of labor. As winter is approaching, I didn't feel the immediate need. Disappointed. After getting the vehicle back, I went on a 600 mile road trip and everything seemed to be fine. Well, except for the squealing serpentine belt that sounded horrific every time I floored the vehicle to accelerate up a steep hill or pass others on the highway. When I called to question the problem Martin informed me that there "was no oil in the supercharger" when they began the swap and that it was most likely causing the new problem. He asked me to bring it in so they could check the belt tension. He then further explained to me that the initial lack of oil was the culprit. The supercharger worked fine previously, and the serpentine belt had never made any noise. Now the vehicle has an incredibly difficult time making it up to snoqualmie pass. Being that the Xterra is my second vehicle to my work rig, I don't drive it during the week, and my busy schedule as of late has not allowed my usual weekend mountain getaways. So besides the immediate road trip, which was along the mellow parts of the coast, it seemed mostly fine. Now that the weather has turned, and daylight hours dwindle, I am finding more problems. My intermittent wipers no longer work, driver side headlight is out, passenger side fog light is out (and working driver side bounces profusely), driver side marker light is hanging down inside the fender with no bulb, transmission shifts into second gear violently at times, and of course the lack of a/c which helped defrost the windows on chilly mornings. After spending $2k more than the initial proposed bid, I would expect everything to work flawlessly. But now I have a gutless SUV that is sure to get me pulled over for the multiple missing lights. I would recommend looking elsewhere for vehicle repairs. read more

I've been very satisfied with the service received from Martin, Larry and the folks at this location. A late review. Sorry. This was for work done a a few weeks ago. Greg's on Stewart are conveniently located to where I work and I had read mostly good reviews about them. So I took my car into their shop for a minor repair. They quoted me a price that was much higher than expected. But since I was already there, I figured I should see how good they really were. After a few hours they called me and recited a list of problems that needed to be repaired right away. I became suspicious when they told me that one of the "problems" was one that had already been fixed months ago by another mechanic. (I later took this up to the mechanic who had fixed it. He looked it over and said it was not a problem. He was irate that they had criticized his work.) I refused to do the extra work. When I returned to pick up the car, the bill was higher than previously estimated. I was told that the initial problem took longer than expected and that the mechanic's time needed to be paid for. The initial estimate was just that, they said. It is obvious that they were upset that I refused to let them do the extra work. So they padded the labor hours to get extra money for nothing. Since I was not there to watch him work, I had no choice but to pay. They appear to have done the work I authorized properly. But their prices are exorbitant and you get a high pressure sales pitch for extra work that they say needs to be done. Even worse, revenge for refusal to authorize extra work. Fortunately, my Dad let her "little girl" watch him work on the family car. Pity the layperson who is not mechanically minded. Good, honest repair shops are plentiful. But this shop is not one of them. (I should have paid more attention to those bad reviews. You should weigh those more heavily.) They will try to milk you. Not a pleasant experience. My girlfriend had a oil burning smell coming from underneath the Subaru and some dripping causing a blueish smoke. She took it there three different times and spent over $4,000 and the problem still wasn't fixed. We took it to another shop after that and they went through the receipts and said most of the work was unnecessary ... the car is now fixed but I really think they are surviving this economic downturn with bad business practices. read more

Last time I went in for service they dyed my oil because they said they thought I had an oil leak but couldn't see where it was coming from. They never said anything about coming back to check for the leak. They also overfilled my engine oil. This used to be a good place. read more

I took my 79 Toyota Corolla into Gregs about a week ago. The staff was very friendly and personable. They then called me the next day and the first words out of the guy's mouth was "We really hate working on these older cars". He then told me that the starter and the alternator had gone out and that it would cost 579 dollars to fix. I was a bit appalled, that is *quite* a bit on a fix like that. I told them to just fix the starter, and ended up with a bill for a little over 300 dollars. I then took the vehicle home, bought an alternator for 50 bucks, and installed it myself in 20 minutes. brought my car (1997 infiniti i30) into greg's for service one night when it wouldn't start. i dropped it off around 10pm on a thursday night. they have envelopes out front where you can write down your car's symptoms, throw in the key, and drop in the door slot. in my case, i had worn out starter and i also wanted them to check out my squeaky breaks. they called me the next morning to give me the quote: $60 for the inspection, $390 to replace the starter, $250 for the brake service. i authorized them to fix it and they told me it would be ready before they close on monday. monday rolls around and, like they said, the car was ready. i couldn't pick it up during their work hours so i paid over the phone and they locked my key in the car for me (i had the remote to unlock it). when i picked it up later that evening, the engine started fine and the brake squeak was gone. truth be told, i don't know anything about car repair but they got the job done and there were no surprises. you can make your own judgements about the prices they quoted me. i was ok with the prices and satisfied by the service i got. read more

I've been taking my car to Greg's on Stewart St., next to the Freeway for more than 4 years. I started using them when I was driving an Isuzu Trooper. They seemed to be honest and fair enough in their pricing. Over time I got to know the people there and to rely on them for assessments of my car's condition...what I could put off and what needed to be done now. When it came time to sell the Trooper I brought them a used Toyota Land Cruiser I was eying. With their clean bill of health, I purchased it and have been very pleased with the car. Then... I thought maybe I would try out the Toyota dealer for service. No actual repairs have been necessary in the two years I've had the Toyota. While I found the service department to be efficient and helpful, I always felt like I'd been slimed by the time I paid my bill. So recently I switched back to Greg's. Though there have been some personnel changes, the staff is still just as helpful and (seemingly) trustworthy. (Don't know why I felt compelled to couch that with parentheses. But who can ever completely trust car repair guys?) Anyway...Greg's on Stewart. There are other Greg's locations, but this is my favorite. Addendum: Just had a major service (100K) and the front brakes redone, rotors and all. While it wasn't cheap, Ken (at Greg's) bent over backwards to help explain in detail what needed to be done beforehand as well as suggesting I go to their web site and print out a discount coupon before picking up my car. New in town, I was looking for a mechanic to repair overheating on my 2004 Subaru Outback. The overheating issue was critical, so I went to Greg's, just a few blocks away. Their diagnosis was for a replacement head gasket, and possibly a new head, plus they said that there were leaking seals. Total cost: $3,300. I was surprised, so I called my longtime mechanic in Port Angeles. He was surprised. Thanks to AAA+ we got the car to Port Angeles. Our guy couldn't find any leaks on the seals and replaced the head gasket (fixing the problem) for $1,100. I advise buyer beware with these guys. I think they figured I was desperate and would give them a blank check. No way. read more

These guys are great! They helped troubleshoot a non-obvious gremlin in my car that prevented it from starting whatsoever. When I originally called, they provided a recommendation of an honest tow company and reassured me with down to earth possibilities with what could be wrong with the limited information I was able to provide them. They were able to root cause the issue to bad/contaminated gasoline, which was confirmed several days later by the gas station owner. Received regular updates during the repair and a detailed invoice at the end, which was less than the ball park, verbal estimate. Loaner cars are available, but I did not need one at the time. I highly recommend these guys. They were able to get me back on the road in a reasonable amount of time; plus, from their overall professionalism, I have high confidence in their work. It's hard to find a decent mechanic who will give you the time for an actual fix versus sending you to a car dealership as instead only wanting your maintenance business. read more

I have used Gregs over the years for my Nissan pickup and Pathfinder. Last time I used them, they completed some work on my headgasket. I had to bring it back within a week because their were fumes coming into the car. They told me it was sealant they used and it would burn of in 500 miles. The mechanic inspected the car at this time. Well the smell did not go away. I looked at the engine and found a disconnected hose from the head. So my family was breathing exaust for over 500 miles and I had to find the problem because their mechanic did shotty work. My had also had a fastener fall off within those 500 miles. I also had a starter change by them that only lasted 4 years. Not usually the case with Bosch parts that they use. There are other little experiences that make me think they try to suck you into more work than you need. I am looking for another mechanic now. read more
