The work they did on my ring was fantastic! However.... the customer service made it so I won't be going back... I dropped my ring off and that lady was amazing, she talked me through everything, she was great. But then I got a call... and was told 4 times that my ring was made from lab rubies/diamonds.... it felt like a slight, I know they had to test it but I dont get why she asked if I knew or why I was getting a phone call with that being the primary conversation.... when they were focusing on tightening the prongs.. I was well aware I had a lab grown ruby and diamonds.... doesn't make me any less but it felt like she tried too.. Then im told that my ring will be out for 3-4 weeks if I keep in house, if they send it out it'll be less time... I wanted to think about it, then decide to send it out and im told it'll still be 3-4 weeks.. mixed info but okay sure im still on board... then on that same phone call I ask if they know exactly how long and if I can hold it until they work on it and she goes 'no, why?' And I say 'well it's my wedding ring....' and she goes 'ok, why?' And I said 'because I want to wear my wedding ring' At this point I dont understand why I have to justify wanting to wear my wedding ring...... So then I decide to send my ring out, I get no updates.... I had to message them and ask when it was coming in and then was told 'it comes back next thursday we'll send you updates'.... and they did not... I had to respond today on the day of and let them know im coming, to which they finally responded it was ready... One lady was nice, but the lack of customer service, the remarks regarding my ring and the inability to do as they say and follow up, assures I wont be going back. I called and asked the costs of moving charms from one bracelet to another today for a granddaughter birthday gift and over the phone the lady quoted $65 which seemed high but I a deadline and drove there from Melissa. And upon looking at the bracelets she quoted $50 a piece for moving EACH charmswhich would have been $300!!! I declined and called around finding Allen Village Jewelry in Fairview would move all six charms for $38 which seemed most reasonable. They were most accommodating, did it ion 45 minutes and did a good job! Therefore I recommend Allen Village Jewelry not Griffin Jewelry for a reasonable price and availability. read more

I was already a customer of the store and I wanted a piece of jewelry for my 50th birthday. I went to the store with a friend and found what I wanted: a $1000 18kg rose gold necklace with a diamond pendant. The store had a 70% discount and no tax payment. My boyfriend went to the store with me a week later and said: pick whatever you want for your present. I could choose any jewel regardless of the price, he would pay. But I loved the necklace. I asked the saleswoman: this is 18kg gold, right? Even though it was in the description I asked after all, the promotion was very good. Important: I have never worn jewelry in my life. My fiancé and I have been looking for someone to resize my grandmother's wedding ring. This ring is priceless to me and I wanted someone I felt comfortable and confident with to handle the ring. We had been to two other jewelers before Griffen Jewelry and I was not impressed with either. Other stores made me feel like they didn't need my business and would not care for the ring like it was their own. On our first visit, the staff was very friendly and informative. We felt very comfortable about having my grandmothers engagement ring resized with them. We were told they were busy from Christmas but could have the ring finished by the end of the week if we needed. We were given a quote which included the possibility of extending 4 of the 8 prongs on the diamonds. My fiancé and I are young and working with a budget - we were very fortunate to be offered my grandmothers ring which exceeds any budget we could have dreamed of - so we decided to talk it over and said we would be back. A few weeks later we finally had saved the money and went back to drop off the ring. I had been sized on a warm day but this day was exceptionally cold - fingers swell in warm weather and this being Texas, it's HOT 90% of the year. The jeweler insisted I go down in size and I told her my fingers are usually much bigger than what I was measuring. She convinced me that the smaller size would be better and would prevent the ring from slipping around my finger since it is so top heavy. She then said there was a possibility that all 8 prongs would need to be extended but she would call before the work was done. She gave us quotes for everything. We were told the ring would be done by Friday, Saturday at the latest. Tuesday the following week, my fiancé had to call to find out if the ring was ready. We are leaving Thursday for a long weekend getaway where we will be telling all of our friends about the engagement. When he goes in to pick up and pay for the ring - expecting to pay for the resize and only 4 prong extensions - he was told they extended all 8 prongs and it would be an extra $32. $32 may not be a large amount of money to most, but like I said, we are working with a budget. Furthermore, the lack of concern for the fact that protocol was not followed was very of putting. We were told that we would be called in the event that extra work needed to be done. My fiancé is in school and just paid for classes and books and pays strict attention to our finances. The lady working the floor did not seem to care that we had not been informed about the extra work and argued back with my fiancé. Today's temperature is 23 degrees, so it's one of the 10 coldest days Texas will have this year. I had been sitting in the warm car and when he tried to put the ring back on my finger, it barely fit. I am almost certain I will need to have this ring sized again. Very frustrating. I really liked my first impression of Griffen Jewelers.... But not sure if I will return for anything else. I have been using this store since about 2005 for repairs and adjustments to my beloved rings. I'm guessing these are the same owners since that time. I've brought my husbands band in for repairs. Have had my wedding bands resized. Have bought a gold chain when my turned out to be irreparable, and many watch battery replacements here. They always offer to clean any gold jewelry I might be wearing that day.... the staff are always kind and patient with me. I've never had any one of the girls treat me rudely or with disregard as I have in another store here. Each time I drop an item off for repair, I always get a timely call letting me know it's ready for pick up. I do wish they would come down a little bit on their inventory prices though. I took my Le Vian pendant in to Griffins to see about having it repaired. It was broke in a difficult spot, and I was fully aware of that. They took it to the back to show their jeweler and came back out and handed it back to me. She suggested I send it back to Le Vian for repair under the Le Vian warranty. I explained I didn't want to do that and asked what it would cost to have it repaired? She took it to the back again and came back out and quoted me about "a couple hundred dollars" said it would be "a lot". There was no specific amount. They said they wouldn't know until they actually started the repair, also said a piece of the metal had chipped off (I didn't think that was accurate but okay maybe it did) and also that the large topaz stone would have to come out and that would cost me more money. Then she handed my pendant back to me. They obviously didn't even want to try to fix it. I went to Griffin because they are suppose to have laser technology that is top notch for jewelry repair. I never expected them to not offer to try to repair it. Next day I went to Fast-Fix jewelry repair in Plano and they fixed my pendant same day and it looks amazing. Only cost $125. I didn't want to send it back to Le Vian. I have heard terrible stories about Le Vians long warranty process and this piece is very special to me. I wear it everyday. I appreciate Fast-fix for listening to me and being able to provide excellent repair and service. Just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else happens to be in the same situation. read more

These guys were amazing! I had to have my wife's 10-year old engagement ring reset in white gold because platinum sucks! The ring had diamonds all around it and was not easy to work with. They initially quoted comparable to other stores, but sent it in for an exact quote. I was going to use them anyway due to so many recommendations on our neighborhood app. Everyone working there was extremely nice, genuine, and professional. The jeweler spent ample time helping me with designs. The quote came in a good amount under their estimation, but the completed work was worth their higher estimation. The ring was absolutely stunning and my wife is ecstatic to have what feels like an upgrade, even though it's as close to the original as you can get. I wanted to take a moment to inform you of a horrible experience regarding the warranty on my Triton wedding band. Last year my ring was replaced by Griffin with a larger ring under the resize warranty. Because they were listed as an authorized warranty location, I visited Griffin Jewelry at Griffin Jewelry 316 N. Central Expwy., McKinney. TX 75070. Shortly after the underside of the ring began cracking. That crack has now turned into 2 cracks and a chunk came out. When returning to Griffin the experience was far different than last year. The owner claimed I "dropped the ring because that is the only thing that could cause such damage". She insisted that I should take the ring to the place I bought it because she makes no money on warranty claims. She repeatedly made this claim and stated it was a lot of trouble for her to make the last claim and cost her money. I could not believe how rude she was. I am shocked that a company such as Triton would do business with such a disgrace to customer service. Now I am stuck with a broken ring and a lifetime warranty that is apparently worthless because listed warranty jewelers are "losing money" over the warranty. I deffinitely won't return and would not recommend Griffin. Like I said, Griffin is listed as an authorized warranty location for Triton. Ibpurchssed this ring and got married 3 years before Griffin even had this location. Buyer beware. I purchased a piece of jewelry at Griffin Jewelry about a year ago. I was referred by a local and the store owner claimed I was getting a great deal because of the referral. The piece was for my girlfriend - we split and I since attempted to sell the piece of jewelry. I took the piece of jewelry to multiple jewelry stores to have it appraised and it appraised for half of what I paid at griffin jewelry. When I contacted Griffin about this they offered to buy the piece back at 30% of what I paid or completely refund my purchase once I provided a certified appraisal. I thought this was a great gesture by the store so I had a certified appraisal performed by an unbiased store that has been in business for 35 years. As expected, the piece appraised for much less that what I originally paid. When I sent the appraisal to griffin jewelry and asked how to proceed, they dodged me and then unethically contacted the store which performed the appraisal and attempted to influence their appraised value. I was shocked. Everyone at the store seemed so nice that this entire experience has been very shocking. I'm now out the value of the jewelry and also the cost of the appraisal. Their dishonesty and unethical actions are disgusting - why would they make an offer to refund something if they had no intention to honor their offer? Complete waste of time and money - and I'm stuck with a piece of junk which I've been told is only worth the value of the raw goods. I would encourage anyone considering a large purchase here to do their research before buying. Beware. read more
