The food was phenomenal. Absolutely no notes! The vibes here are very romantic for date night. The filet was so flavorful and melted in our mouth. I am not the biggest fan of calamari but the calamari here was so delicious I couldn't stop myself from eating it!!! It had this amazing garlic sauce on them!! The nitrotinis are also a must! Will be back!

The place is very nice for date night, service was great attentive managed the order and speed so we had great slow night Steak and food was very good high quality. Had a pianist playing. Dark wood and low lights make for a great ambiance.

Made for a very special birthday while visiting family in town. Impeccable service, ambience & food. Delicious! Rum punch also yummy. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Everything was really great. Note that besides the salads, there's only 1 vegetarian meal on the menu and it was cheesy tomato in a crust like a pot pie kind of thing. My son said the rib eye was the best he's ever had. It's pricey. The service is wonderful. If you can get past the high prices, you must visit.

Where do I begin?! I'm a local from Charleston but I'd never been to this restaurant. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for 5:30 and it looked like we weren't going to make it on time. He called the restaurant and they were able to push the time one hour with no issues. Service was very friendly and convenient to make the reservation. I was worried about the dress code but I wore a nice sun dress, and my boyfriend wore a nice polo shirt, dark jeans and Timberland boots. I really thought we wouldn't be allowed in but it was not an issue. We were sat right away and immediately greeted by our waiter. He was very friendly and helpful explaining the menu and drinks. I got a Sweet Tea Nitro-tini and it was so neat! The glass comes with a warning and you have to wait 3 minutes to drink it but worth the fun experience. The don't skimp on the alcohol! We ordered Oysters Rockefeller to start and they were sooo good! I could have ordered 15 more, they are delicious. We both ordered the Prime Ribeye and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Absolutely mouthwatering steak and grabbed a side of fried green tomatoes. The sides are family size so for two people one side would be enough with the main meal. Despite being full to bursting after dinner, we ordered a slice of cheesecake for dessert to share. It was a large slice and even the two of us couldn't finish it. The final bill plus tip was a little over $300. It's definitely a great place if you want to spend some money, but it's a once a year kind of place for me, great for a romantic date or anniversary dinner. If you have time go to the roof top bar and grab another drink! The food was so good I forgot to take more pictures.

Located in the Market Pavilion Hotel (Market & East Bay). Reservations highly recommended. Children welcome but not a restaurant for children. Great menu variety that offers "a taste of Charleston " and more ! Make sure you try one of their famous "Nitrotini's" (martinis w/nitro's oxidized)- think smoking witches caldron. Impeccable service- Thank you Mr. Jimmy! With so many good restaurants in Charleston, if your a steak lover, this place is a "can't miss"

This is our second time at Grill 225 celebrating our anniversary. We arrived early for cocktails at the well stocked bar. They serve "Nitrotinis" which are novelty cocktails with a dash of liquid nitrogen for effect. Our table was ready promptly at our reservation time and our server, Ben was friendly and well versed in the menu and preparations. Ben took great care of us and was attentive without being overbearing. All of their steaks are aged a minimum of 42 days and masterfully prepared. I had the ribeye which may have stayed on the grill a heartbeat too long but was still delicious. My wife had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Family style sides of baked potato and baked tomatoes were also delicious. Grill 225 is one of the more elegant and romantic restaurants downtown. With low lighting and heavy wood trim, the restaurant conjures up thoughts of an old speakeasy which suits the location of this restaurant. I highly recommend this for one of the best steaks downtown Charleston.

I came here because they were known for the nitromartinis. It has been a min since I was last here but they don't have the drink I ordered. It was a nitromallow. Yep, it has liquid nitrogen with marshmallows on the top. It was basically like a s'mores martini. It pairs really well when you go up to the rooftop and enjoy it while watching the sunset. Service was wonderful, you get a cool show when the bartender prepares it. Honestly, I recommend getting any nitromartini. It was slightly expensive for a drink.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a high-energy, friendly host staff that immediately made us feel welcome and set the tone for the evening. I started with the Prince Edward Island oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and excellent. My wife enjoyed the grass-fed filet mignon, while I ordered the 45-day dry-aged ribeye. Both steaks were outstanding - incredible flavor, perfectly prepared, and exceptionally tender. The experience went far beyond just the food. One of the owners, Billy, introduced himself and then personally brought over two glasses of champagne to congratulate us on our anniversary, which was a very thoughtful gesture (even though my wife doesn't drink alcohol and champagne isn't my preference). The restaurant manager also made a point to stop by and congratulate us. Our server, Aidy (pronounced "eighty"), was awesome. Extremely knowledgeable of the menu, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable throughout the evening. As is tradition at Halls, they brought out and displayed the various cuts of steak while explaining the characteristics of each - a great touch that added to the experience. We ordered the mashed potatoes and the pepper jack creamed corn skillet for sides, both excellent. Dessert was the perfect finish: vanilla crème brûlée and whiskey bread pudding. One thing that really stood out was how well orchestrated the entire restaurant operation felt. From the hosts, to the servers, to the managers and support staff, everyone worked together seamlessly to create a polished and memorable dining experience. The staff worked hard, and each person clearly knew and performed their role perfectly. It was impressive! The dining room itself had a loud, energetic vibe that added to the atmosphere of the evening and fit the overall Halls experience perfectly. Honestly, there's not much we could have asked to be better. Halls delivered an exceptional dining experience all the way around.

If one eats brunch there on Sundays one must acknowledge that the food is good. Not "the best…read moreever!" But good. The service however, is always exceptional regardless of which meal you eat here. What is intolerable is every Sunday is having to listen to the "Plantation Singers" torture us with LOUD gospel music. Every Sunday. Always too LOUD! The Halls' Sunday brunch is a tourist destination and having gospel music screaming in everyone's ears is a contrived creation by old Mr. Hall because for some inexplicable reason, he thinks that everyone enjoys LOUD gospel music while trying to eat a peaceful breakfast! He is wrong! Want a better breakfast with no LOUD music of any sorts? "Lillian's Petite Market & Eatery." Awesome food!

The first floor was composed mainly of booths; the second level (where we ate) had table seating; and the third floor had tables as well. Like any great steakhouse, there was a lot of wood, but thanks to the rugs and curtains, the restaurant never became loud. The food was absolutely superb! The steak was perfectly cooked, and my tile fish could not have been flakier or tastier. The sides were spectacular. The crab cake had coleslaw as a topping. I had never seen that combination before. It sounds strange, but it really worked! The oysters, just try them, and you will have them again. Great food without great service leaves an experience unfulfilled. The service at Oak was exceptional! It was my wife's birthday, and I noted that on the online reservation. We had a reservation and were immediately sat by the hostess and greeted by our server. He gave us recommendations and told us half orders of the sides were available since it was only my husband and I. We had a glass of rose and a glass of red, nothing special but what you expect and at a place like this you expect to pay $15/glass. We ordered the New York strip, half orders of Brussels and mushrooms and the steak frites with truffle fries and bernaise sauce. The steaks were cooked very well which was great (it is a steakhouse), but honestly just tasted like pepper. The bernaise sauce was watery, cold and flavorless. The Brussels had some flavor, but nothing to knock your socks off and pretty much the same with the mushrooms. Honestly, the star of the show were the truffle fries. Crispy, lots of flavor and hot. You obviously have higher expectations when coming into an establishment such as Oak and sadly it let me down. There's other fabulous restaurants in Charleston and honestly other steakhouses I'd recommend. I'm glad we tried it, but I won't be rushing back.

It was rich, flavorful, and while the presentation looked a bit like dog food, it was otherwise the perfect way to kick off the meal. For the table, we also shared the Roasted Carrots, served with chamomile honey, labneh, puffed rice, candied peanuts, and an olive crumble. I know, carrots aren't always a "must-order," but trust me - they were fantastic. We also couldn't pass up the Hearth-Baked Skillet Cornbread with Broadbent bacon crumble mixed throughout. Southern comfort food!!! For my entree, I ordered the Blueberry & Corn Salad, which was anything but an ordinary salad. Between the BBQ pecans, ricotta salata, bacon fat honey mustard, and fresh seasonal ingredients, every bite was packed with flavor. One friend ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo with compressed cantaloupe, marigold, and leche de tigre. It was bright, refreshing, and beautifully plated. Our other friend opted for the South Carolina Golden Tilefish, served with Kindlewood Farms summer squash and serrano, and it, too, was a hit. For drinks, one friend enjoyed a glass of wine while I ordered the Dragoon Punch. I'll admit, I was a little disappointed to learn my beloved Primrose Path was no longer on the menu. I even asked if they could make one, but unfortunately they were missing one of the ingredients. No worries, the Dragoon Punch was delicious and a worthy replacement.
