We arrived alittle early for our reservation and we were seated right away. Within minutes our server was at the table. Very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested a great wine and even brought a sample to try prior to us making our selection. We started with a few appetizers. The fried calamari was not very impressive as it looked like store-bought calamari rings, and it wasn't real hot. The oysters Rockefeller did not have a lot of flavor and again not very hot kind of lukewarm in temperature. Not sure I would get either of these appetizers again. We chose a wedge salad, which was very good. Had nice chunks of blue cheese and a nice creamy dressing. Everything is served à la carte. The small sides are enough for two people to split. Where is the large is big enough for four people. I chose the bone in pork chop, which was pretty good, but the presentation was not all that great. My side was the stuffed mushrooms from the appetizer menu and they were delicious. My husband had the ocean 17, which he really enjoyed great flavor on the scallops and grouper he ordered a side of brussels sprouts, I thought they had a little too much balsamic in them. I wish I knew why when you make a reservation you always get seated close to the bathrooms and the front door. We even came early and it just seemed like such a weird seat when they're trying to sell expensive food and every few minutes the bathroom door screams open and people constantly staring at you and your table as they walk in and wait to be seated. I got the salmon and the piece of meat was small and the rice only tasted like black pepper. And my 3 asparagus...but I knew what to expect because they let you see a picture of every single menu item on their fancy iPad menu! What was good: lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, chicken parm, pork chop, fillet mignon. I guess I got the meal that was the flop which is ok!! First of the service was great. Hosted was great, manager was great. Server was great and they done a good job with the decor and ambiance. Drinks were good and there's a nice wine list. The food. Bone marrow app was good but a tad salty. Which was opposite of the steaks and seafood, they all lacked seasoning. One thing I just don't like are the cross hatch grill marks on a steak. When you arrive you're greeted by the clean and welcoming exterior and a red carpet rolled out for your prime experience here. Inside you find low-lit fun and quirky cowgirl bougie decor with luxurious and plush eating (I mean... these seats feel like a nice ride in a leather couch. The chairs are sturdy and comfy without being super heavy and they slide nicely.) Everyone there is so warm and welcoming especially when they find out it's your first time. They want it to be the first of MANY!!! Now, where to begin on the delicious eats that await you. They are knowledgeable with Celiac and gluten allergies. Designated fryer for rice flour items. I opted for the Sin City... Take me there and buy me TEN of these! Great mix of tequila, creme de Violette and lime! I had to have a second! Had the large Caesar salad, added grilled chicken, no croutons (they do make their own though... We subbed to cucumbers for GF)... Generous portion to share for 3 or even 4 smaller side salads. Then it was on to the tender fried calamari... GF with Rice flour and dis I mention a dedicated fryer?!?! Served with marinara AND sweet chili Thai sauce JIC you can't decide. For everything else it's a la carte... We shared the Large Potatoes au gratin ... Reminds me of my Mama's Mac and cheese pie with plenty of eggs, cream, cheese and a couple potatoes, almost like a souffle! And the small creamed spinach... Wish we had gotten the large one of those too. Great roasted garlic flavor and nice fresh wilted spinach. Mom opted for the pork chop (which she didn't hop on immediately and it cooked a little long since it was still resting and cooking while she was enjoying all the other side items... It was still very good but might want to order medium rare of you don't plan on cutting into it right away. I opted for the grass fed sirloin... This 16 oz felt more like a 26 oz with nice fatty rimming and a succulent center that was prepared PERFECTLY medium rare and in some spots even a nice lending more rare center. Just the way I like it ... I had leftovers and didn't feel overly stuffed nor sick like you can sometimes feel with a bunch of rich food. I didn't try it because it wasn't GF but Mom said the she crab soup had a little much Old Bay which was over powering for a she crab soup. I could smell it though so I can imagine what she's saying... In my opinion, the scallops weren't worth it but they weren't a bad price AT ALL ... They ran a little on the smaller side and were just slightly over cooked for my taste. Will definitely try the LOCAL Shrimp next time!!! The burger was also ordered at the table but they prefer their meat well done, so I can't be a good judge to that. Also, no GF buns but I don't fault them there. We ordered the steak appetizer and the server was happy to accommodate my request to omit the teriyaki sauce and add some blue cheese crumbles. The food was delicious. I had a Caesar salad, bone in ribeye, baked potato, asparagus. The sides were a la carte. The ambiance was just ok. They had a self-playing grand piano, which wasn't playing anything. Odd. Decor nothing special. I reserved a seat at the bar in advance. The bartender was a touch condescending, calling me "dear" and not asking me for my drink order for 15 minutes... and when he did, let me know the seat was reserved, and I said, I know, it's reserved for me! Then he checked on that and came back, his tone was more respectful. I have eaten alone whenever I've wanted at many high-end restaurants, and never treated with less courtesy than if I were with a friend. I would hesitate to do so here. The baked potato was overcooked. Tasted reheated and a little gummy. The steak was very flavorful, but a bit undercooked, but the server did offer to fix it, so I can't complain. Overall, it was a lovely meal. The owner came by to chat and was lovely, I mentioned the service and he bought me a drink. I think it's great that a restaurant of this caliber has come to West Ashley. I hope many more do the same. But for me, I'll likely go to king street if I want to spend that much money. The service and the ambiance do make a difference when you are paying 70.00 for a steak. I think it's a perfect choice for couples on a special occasion! read more

Do not eat here !! Your are served steaks that are not the cut ordered. I ordered a petite filet and ordered it medium well. I was served the flattest chewiest steak I've ever seen. I questioned whether or not this was a filet and the Host told me if you order a steak over medium they butterfly it. What ??? I've never had a filet butterflied If you are a good chef you know how to cook it. It was chewy and salty. It lacked taste. The steak sauce was too spicy. My husband ordered a NY strip and it was not a NY strip it looked like top sirloin. It was awful. The 2 rolls they brought out looked like they grabbed a bag from Publix and stuck a few rolls on a plate. My husband liked the asparagus I ordered mashed potatoes. They were bla. Nothing special the waiter was great. He was so nice. He did comp us a dessert All in all we will NOT be going back. Do t waste your money. Go to OAK if you want the best steak The ambiance was bla. Walking in we had no idea what to expect and they really surpassed our expectations. Beautiful ambiance piano playing low in the background. Service was fantastic, management made us feel like VIP's. It appears this steakhouse occupies an old fast food restaurant, they have done their best to spruce it up but it's very cramped inside. The food was priced in accordance with high end steak houses but I don't think the food is all that. The food was good but not great and the same with the service. The food... the steak, I will not get again here. It had NO FLAVOR! Simply tasted like charred beef. The creamed spinach was 0/10, the mashed were yummy. Fantastic collection of containers make this restaurant unique with great views and some open air dining, perfect for this evening when it was cool and clear. The heaters gave enough warmth to eliminate any chill. I had the Sin City drink with Crème de Violette and pepper, a sweet but tangy, unique beverage. My husband had the prime rib and I enjoyed the mushroom ravioli with grilled chicken. Appetizers we shared were Teriyaki steak with crumbled blue cheese and two cheese stuffed mushrooms. The wait staff and hostesses are friendly and beautiful and were always checking unobtrusively that we were happy. The entertainment was two men on guitar, drums and vocals. Smooth, rhythmic and the perfect accompaniment to a fabulous dinner. We will be back as often as we can from Edisto. read more

Salads and apps were good however our entrees all arrived room temp. Ribeye, filet mignon, lambchops, etc. Same for our side of Mac and cheese. Only hot arrival was the steak and sweet potato fries. I had high expectations based on the 4.5 star review, I wish I'd had the same experience. The place was clean and fresh flowers on each table is a nice touch. I wanted to try the wet aged ribeye, it didn't disappoint after we got a "bump" b/c the med rare we ordered was clearly rare. Here is where I'm underwhelmed upon arrival the server asked if we'd ever visited before- myself and hubby first timers, other 2 in the party had frequented another location. The whipped mashed potatoes clearly tasted straight out of a box, and paired with a $69 steak I find that unacceptable. At some point after I saw bread on another table inquired if we had to ask for it; reply was yes. Remember I'm a first timer so had I been told we had to ask for the bread it would have been requested long before the meal was about finished. Also someone at the table needed salt, after sitting and searching for our server she finally found it herself. Magically the server appeared. Lastly, again server was MIA for an unacceptable amount of time while we attempted to pay for the check. Again, underwhelmed - we will spend our money somewhere else next time . read more

My boyfriend had taken me here to celebrate our birthdays knowing it was a higher end steakhouse. We had a reservation for 8 and were seated quickly. Our waitress brought us waters and his drink but she had a slight attitude? I brushed it off but we ordered a NY strip, grass-fed ribeye, small whipped mash potatoes and mac and cheese. We ordered med rare and med for our steaks but both of our steaks were basically rare/raw! Our waitress noticed us using lights to check the steaks and asked if they were cooked right. We obviously sent them back but they still weren't right. His ribeye was so unevenly cooked while still being too rare to be medium. My NY strip was better but still disappointed me. The mash had decent flavor but was so dry. Our waitress got way nicer after our messed up steaks and showed the manager. Not wanting to seem entitled but maybe getting a free desert or maybe comp a side would've been nice. The restaurant itself was loud, cramped, dim, and had these weird pictures of women on the walls. Women's bathroom has a nice picture of a bull while the mens has a lady with her crack out, maybe women want to have a tasteful picture to look at too. Being sat in front of the football was nice but paying $180 for two steaks and two small sides is hard to believe when they don't even cook the steaks right. read more

I can only give them 5 stars, but I will also give them a numerical 10 score. PERFECT in my book ! I had a 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell, the wedge salad, grass fed ribeye, loaded baked potato, and some added seared scallops to make a surf and turf entree. I somehow managed a desert of raz drizzled cheese cake with coffee. As stated previously, EVERYTHING WAS EXCEPTIONAL !
