Big bummer. Not so great experience during my visit today. I've always had good experiences in the Vallejo location, but this location...not so much. This is located is inside Seafood City similar to the one in Vallejo. There is a Jollibees, Valerios Bakery, a Pho restaurant, Goldilocks, and Chow King inside as well. There is also a small Filipino food spot hidden in the corner too, but I forgot the name of it. With Jollibees in the same vicinity, I was debating on grabbing food from there or Grill City. I decided to go with Grill City since the line was short. I was 2nd in line and the worker ignored me when it was my turn. I had to catch her attention a few times by waving in the air and snapping (lol) and after I raised my voice "Excuse me!" (in a polite manner of course), she finally acknowledged that I was there. I ordered a combo meal. After the worker put my two dish options in a container, I noticed that she put pancit (Filipino noodles) in a bigger container. I pointed it out to the worker, told her that I didn't order pancit, then corrected the fact that I wanted rice with the combo and not the noodles. She responded rudely, "You said you wanted pancit!" I replied, "I thought it comes with rice". I'm Filipino, so of course I wanted rice with my meal. Plus I thought it automatically comes with rice. To my surprise, she rolled her eyes at me and said that they don't have any rice. I was thinking, "Umm, ok...that's a first..." Then I asked her if I can just buy the 2 dishes à la carte. She once again responded in a rude manner, "We don't do that!". Then she told me that I had to wait longer for rice. My jaw literally dropped. I was taught to respect my elders so I politely said ok and waited patiently, despite her rude attitude. As I was waiting, I observed the customer behind me getting the same treatment. He looked irritated after he couldn't get the same worker's attention then walked away. After my food was ready, I picked up my food and walked over to the cashier. Guess what? She was mean too! I asked for a small container of vinegar. She looked at me as though I didn't deserve my sauce then turned around, grabbed the container and threw it in the plastic bag. After that, I noticed that she didn't put a plastic fork in the bag either. So I requested for that too. She gave me the stinky eye, grabbed my plastic fork and napkin set then threw it in the plastic bag. She seemed so angry with me and I'm standing there super confused. Sadly, I left Grill City feeling very uncomfortable. After reading the other reviews, I too, fell victim to the grouchy ladies. I felt like I was scolded by my Lola (means grandmother in Tagalog) Sheesh! I should've went to Jollibees. 2 stars because I did enjoy my food eventually. read more

Food - always good, but the best item is really the pork bbq sticks. the best thing is i ordered a TON for my moms bday the other day (32 sticks) and the lady HOOKED IT UP! she doused them in bbq sauce so they werent all dry. thank you tita! Grill City is the cooked food arm of Seafood City Market. It a long stand filled with Filipino dishes, grilled fish, lechon, pancit,...etc My Yelp bud Steve T. took a drive to Concord to do some shopping and get a Filipino lunch. The seating area for the food court is right in front of Grill City and we picked different items from the other stands. I got a beef Piccadillo, grilled pomfret, and white rice. Steve got some kind of pork cooked in blood. Although he intended on getting that item it was not as good as expected. We also bought some lechon from another vendor and Jollibee fried chicken. We ordered the Holiday party A meal for $150 in advance with a breakfast trio $80 and beef Salpico for $60. Upon arrival we had to wait over an 1 hour to receive everything. Lumpia and dessert got right away which got cold. Breakfast trio delivered burnt. Bbq sticks were under cooked. The beef salpicado we ordered was not available instead they offered Kare kare and gave it to someone else. We ended up with menudo. The Miki bihon did not have taste and barely any vegetables. Just noodles. Overall catering here is unorganized and they have an old woman running back and forth to the back of the store to get food. 8 families were waiting for the food to be prepared. read more

I've given it quite some time and have tried many times over the last few years to give Grill City at Seafood City time to improve. Initially a manager contacted me but never followed up with me, not a big deal. In my last few visits there have been many issues. Just two days ago I was wanting to buy crispy pata especially now that they offer fresh ones cooked in 10-15 minutes. When I got to the counter the lady said you should just buy this one that's here it was from this morning, I refused. So she said she would have them cook a new one ..... I got the new one and she said they don't chop it for you, that was fine. Now here is the terrible thing, I cut into it and not only was the skin not crispy but as you got into the middle it was COLD and not even warm, COLD. Terrible. Another huge issue is buying chicken skin or chicharoon by the pound. They won't sell it to you without an $8 minimum but there is no signs, nothing saying it has to be at least that much. I try to buy quarter pound but they will fight and argue with you and when you ask where it is on the menu that says you have to buy $8 minimum they just look at you like you are crazy. Again, the customer service has failed and lack of training. Never issues at Jollibee, Imas Kusina, or Goldilocks. Grill City and Seafood City you need to get your training together. I think it's time to get corporate involved with this location. read more

We truly enjoyed our dinner. The pork BBQ was tender and flavorful, generously coated with their delicious BBQ sauce. The rice serving was quite generous, about two cups. For the first time, I really enjoyed their monggo--it was well seasoned and satisfying. We also ordered the "tuyo," which I haven't had in a long time, and my husband especially enjoyed the "laing." First time to order delivery & didn't receive 2 of the orders. Unable to reach restaurant despite several attempts, no one picked up. Contacted number provided from email confirmation, which turned out was outsourced to Philippines. I was told I would be contacted in 3 hrs. Bottom line is this is my first & last time to order delivery from this establishment, not worth effort having to track down rest of my order. The food this visit wasn't the best. The pompano (fried fish) was a bit soggy but still tasty. Must have spiced vinegar with this. The chicken skewers are always a good treat here. The soda I got was complete flat (fountain drink no carbonation at all). The kare kare was bland. So bland in fact that we walked into seafood city , bought the ingredients and made it at home (came out really good). The quality of the meat is poor, eveytime I order the kari-kari the beef is so tough, the pansit or other noodle dishes are over salted gross! Their pre-made drinks don't taste fresh at all as it's been sitting in thete for weeks. Theirs desserts are also poor quality compared to Goldilocks. Grill City needs to HIRE new employees... the ladies that work there are not friendly and very SLOW!!! Management really needs to follow up with their standards of serving and customer service. Training is much needed here. No smiles or greetings. They stare at you like you are bothering them. It's funny to note that management responds to the bad reviews of customer service, but it seems like they don't do anything about it. SHAME ON YOU! The only item I like is their GRILL Pork or Chicken Skewers. The entrees are hit or miss... Luke warm or cold... If you want delishes Filipino food... visit the Oriental Food Market in Concord. They have a small selection of Filipino food and it is "homemade with love." And, most importantly, very good service. Perhaps management should visit and learn. read more

Stumbled upon this place within the Seafood City shopping center which offered many Filipino dining options overall. We chose Grill City because it had the biggest variety of dishes. It was also convenient in terms up of the ability to just walk up and order. The service definitely leaves something to be desired. They're not friendly at all and seem bothered with any questions about the dishes. We got the Palabok, an order of lumpia and about a pound of crispy baby crab. I would have ordered more but the dishes didn't have anything showing the title and like I mentioned, the girl seemed irritated with any questions I had so I didn't want to ask anymore. The food was very flavorful, so there's potential; however, everything was cold. I'm not sure if their heat lamps aren't working or what but cold crispy food is not the business. I wish it all had been the right temperature because it all tasted good. I would return, but would be more careful with my selections to ensure I picked something that was hot. read more

Come across here on either a good or bad day. Most of the time, the food is good, but the servers are inconsistent. Group of six of us met up for a late lunch and we all ordered separately. Our issues was that two people had ordered the same grilled item but was served differently. One had theirs neatly wrapped and the other smashed in a container. Was there a reason for that? Obviously the one smashed in with their container of rice was not as appealing as the one nicely wrapped separately from their rice. Other than that, our food was decent. read more

Came here for a snack and got Pork BBQ and Chicken BBQ Skewers. Although both had good flavors, to me the meat was tough. Hard to chew on. Perhaps they overcooked it a bit too much??? I also tried their Bangus Sisig, which tasted suuuuper gingery and I didn't really care for it. It was so unfortunate because I like pork sisig very much; and I was hoping I would like fish sisig too. Even though I've NEVER had a positive experience, I continue to come back because there aren't very many readily available filipino food establishments. Came in because my daughter wanted Adobo. The line has typically been slow, in my experience. But that is usually a mix of customers and staff just not really caring that a line has built up. I asked for the 5 stick BBQ deal but asked if they could be split into 2 bags because I was going to be bringing my husband dinner at work. The lady wouldn't do it at first-saying it wasnt allowed (and then she kept repeating it), then after repeating MULTIPLE times that I wanted pork bbq, she packed it in 2 bags like I requested. Why bother giving me a hard time if you were going to do it any way? Then I asked for the Adobo. It was the end of the day, but it was dry. Not just chewy dry, but when we got home, the chicken was HARD and lacking any sauce. I should have said something at the store, but I was just eager to get out of there. We ended up throwing it all out after a few bites. Once I FINALLY made it to checkout, the nice young man was actually very helpful and thorough. And just as he was finishing, another employee started ringing up another customer's items while my transaction hadn't been completed. We ordered the chicken bbq skewers, lumpia, and dinuguan. The bbq chicken was good and the lumpia was good as well. However, the dinuguan was very disgusting. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish it and it literally smelled like poop. Dinuguan is one of my favorite Filipino dishes, but this traumatized me. Not sure why my parents like it here and go here all the way from SL? Not worth it for me! This place is located within the Seafood City building. It's a big kiosk station to the left that offers a lot of prepared food. The staff are so so depends on who you get. The meat on the sticks were full but they used hard pork meat portions as it has hard fat in it, too! Plus, you can tell the meat was not marinated overnight as the flavor didn't stick. All I tasted was bbq sauce slapped on it for flavor. Chicken was ok. The grilled big squid was stuffed with something nasty and didn't taste cooked. Located inside the seafood plaza, this one is another hit or miss especially with customer service. It's either they're busy and the line goes smoothly because they have enough worker to help; or they have a long line of people and it will take eons to get help because they only have one worker helping out. Anyway, I love that they always have bbq on stick available since that's their main fare. They always have pork and chicken and it's always fresh. They also offer promos for their food as it can get a bit pricey which helps a lot if you're feeding a big crowd. I also like their crispy pata, which they sell per lb and also can get pricey for a big hock of crispy fried pork. Value meals also help if for lunch fares and there's a lot of ulam (main dish) to choose from and filipino dessert to get for your sweet tooth. Though they have competitions around them, they always seem to have a line and their foods' always gone by the end of the day. read more

Please train your employees on how to handle right customer service. A number of your employees are moody and lack TLC when talking to customers. The cashier is HARD OF HEARING and gets your orders wrong just because she cannot hear correctly so she probably needs a HEARING AID. Some of the food is not fresh and one of our companions had an upset stomach from consuming it. I wish I could give a higher rating and review but this Filipino restaurant is plagued with the same issue as other Filipino dining places, settling for mediocrity and just barely maintaining quality. read more

Needs improvement in all locations throughout CA. This one in particular- I ordered barbecue, it was handed to me cold at 1pm. Not sure if it's left over from the day before. They were out of tocino and steamed rice. I ordered longsilog which is garlic rice, egg, and longanisa. It came with two scoops of rice, two eggs, and three pieces of longanisa. I came with my grandma, uncle, and aunt. There is a lot of seating. I like getting pork barbecue here. Their food today disappointed my aunt and I. They used to have melon shake here. Its a hit and miss here ! One time we bought bbq, I empahasized that I want the freshly cooked out of the grill, I was very satisfied. A family member bought another batch who is not so particular or who would not say anything, trusting that what is served will be as good as what we had.. We were given the bad one. The pork bbq on a stick was bigger than the usual size, but it was one of the " rejected" ones, and they know who to give it to ( customers who have no idea at all). The pork was very hard, full of fats... end up in the trash...you can also tell if it was old and was just reheated if the meat has all blackened by the grill... and we had them too... I think they just know who will be their prey, to give the not good ones and get rid of them ! ....what a waste of money for $4.50 each. I hope grill city would have that "integrity" for their customers who spend a lot of money and should be worth of the money they spend. I am so saddened that these are fellow Filipinos who does this. Whenever we come to Seafood City we go here for lunch. Grill City is a large kiosk located within Seafood City. They have a variety of foods to select from. The prices here seem to be a tad pricy but the food is good. We ordered a few dishes for lunch. We got the fish sisig, palabok, fried bangus, laing and munggo. Great food but usually takes forever... Just like the other reviews mention it seems like the workers really hate their jobs or just have bad attitudes. They are usually stone cold and don't say much, don't smile, and don't make any conversation. Which is fine. I don't like talking to people either. Maybe adding an option to add tips when checking out would make them happier? For some reason it seems like it takes 10 minutes to check someone out once they get to the register. It seems like they need to update the software on their registers. The payment processing itself has 5-6 different prompts and buttons you have to press even if you are paying with tap to pay. Then you also have to approve the amount and sign after. Why? It completely defeats the purpose of tap to pay because it is supposed to make it easier and faster. Either the cooks don't know how to cook Filipino food or the company isn't letting them use necessary ingredients. The pork sinigang tasted like boiled pork with some veggies, no sinigang flavor at all! Not a tinge of sourness! Their breakfast meals today didn't have eggs, but charged the same price. What's the use of standing next to Seafood City when you can't get eggs from there? The lame excuse was that eggs are expensive! Duh!!! Nothing is silog without itlog!!! Their laing was weak, it lacked coconut milk and flavor. I hope I remember not to come back here next time. And this is by far the worst Filipino food I've ever had. The kare kare has no taste. Literally like water. The beef is inedible, almost like rubber. The Lain was bitter, sour, and tasted like rubber. The fried jeprox was wAyyy to salty. The bbq is the only thing they got going for them. But it's not really that great. The first time I went, the food was good, the service was mediocre. The line went fast because there was only two people ahead of me at the time, surprisingly. The second time I went, it was slightly busier, and the service was horrible. The girl with short hair with blonde in it and glasses was extremely rude and unprofessional because she had a bad attitude and acted inconvenienced for packing my food to go, and even though she heard me the first time, she said, "for here, right?" and had to tell her to go , again and i noticed her huff and puff. She took a rude tone when I also asked questions about the food. I also had to wait 15 minutes until someone finally brought me my halo halo and they continued to help other customers instead of immediately make my halo halo, and I was already done with my food by the time it came. At this point I refuse to give my money to businesses who could care less about customer service. What ever happened to customer service here? I want to support Filipino business's but unfortunately it won't be this one. read more
