Haven't had a Togo' Sandwich since before Covid wiped out many of the quick-serve eateries. The company brand and logo has changed, but the quality is still outstanding. Unfortunately, Togo's hasn't expanded outside of the Pacific Time Zone, a significant loss in potential quick-serve growth opportunities, I will have to wait for another opportunity to return to the San Francisco Bay Area before I can enjoy another great childhood memories of eating at Togo's again. Making great sandwiches in the 21st Century has become a lost art in the overcrowded "Me Too" global sandwich sterile parlors, whereas the sandwich shops of the 20th Century are quickly and quietly fading away into the sunset to never nourish the world's citizens souls ever again. A great place with comfort food. The people working there are very nice, and the whole environment is pleasant and relaxing. I usually get the turkey, swiss, avocado, and veges on white bread, which is delicious. My partner gets the humous wrap. The sliced turkey is way better than in the stores or the markets. When I worked in Martinez few years ago, I often frequented this location for lunch...it was pretty much hit & miss. I recently went back & spent $21 on a 9 inch & chips. The sandwich was terrible...it was extremely dry, the pastrami was flavorless, hard & no flavor & the added pepperoncini consisted of mainly long hard stems. I was not about to drive back. My name: Steve My Experience with Togo's was unexpected. I had purchased $65 dollars worth of Sandwich's especially the New BBQ sandwich's. I wasn't pleased with reasons being is that the meat was cheap and not tasty at all including the sauce. Not only that what the meat looked like as if it wasn't real meat upon how it was layered upon its pre sliceing from what ever company it's purchased from for a cheaper price. Not only that how how the sandwich's are advertised on the Togo's brochures and T.V. advertising is very Deceptive by its advertising department and Corporate Deception as well to the Consumer or customers. I made a call to talk with the manager Sam at the restaurant in Martinez what was told to me is that all there meats and condiments on each sandwich are weighed behind the counter before preparing not by advertising marketing so as what the customer see would not be the same as advertised. Also upon picking the size of bread whether small or large not look as advertised as well manipulating the size because when you hold the sandwich in your hands to take byte out the meat and condiments seems to slide out the sandwich and has not solid mass as if air is coming out a balloon going flat like peeda bread as of the dough of the bread was manipulated from manufacture processing.. If you notice upon going into the Togo restaurant you noticed that the counter top are high up so that you can't see how the meats and condiments is being weighed and how it's being prepared. I also was told by Sam the manager at my community store location in Martinez California location that upon the cost of labor and the pandemic it was decided that the food being sold was restructed so it can be more profitable but being advertised on the Togo's brochures or tv advertising being of corporate restructure hidden from the customers because if was high lighted the would lose customers and no profits.. This is deception and not good for business. Because it's being dishonest and in looking at business ethics. How can I spend my hard earned money with my community restaurant when corporate or it's owners are gauging and being dishonest using Deceptive advertising an corporate greed... After a long HOT day we decided we needed cold food for dinner. So our best bet was a sandwich. I first tried to order on the app, and when I clicked "place order" it rejected me. So oh well lol. We went inside and that was a better bet because I'm pretty sure it went way faster than it could've. We got a large Cali Club to split. Added Swiss and some chipotle mayo with the parmesan bread. Ok so this is why food workers deserve federal minimum wage and the job is designed as a pathway to learning skills but is not a career or anything remotely in comparison to a tough job. We ordered 2 market wraps with chicken. Substitute cheddar for the feta. Add pepperoccini's to one and eliminate the onions on the same one. Italian dressing for both on the side. What we got 2 market wraps with NO chicken, dressing already on the wraps and onions on both with no pepperoccini's on the one requested. To boot they didn't cut them through correctly so when we opened the wrappers the tortillas came open and everything fell out. When I am on a no meat day, I come to Togo 's for their farmers market wrap. The wrap is flavorful and well-made at this location. I've been to some of the surrounding stores and this location and the one on Clayton make the best wraps I have them add the spicy pepitas dressing for a little kick and add avocado. I called this togo's and told them the last time I was there the bread was VERY dry on a family size sandwich. I was expecting to talk to MGR. Marcella, but evidently she was let go. The Martinez location has been around for a while, and is a busy lunch spot. Mrs N and I try to make lunch dates here from time to time, and share favorite sandwiches. We have tried many combinations of sandwiches, salads, and wraps. They make them all pretty well. Lately, Togo's has been offering Daily Feature sandwiches for $3.99. Wednesday is the only day I truly care about. I happen to have a slight addiction to the #16. A health nut, I'm not. Nor am I a glutton for the worst foods possible. The middle ground is my goal whenever possible. The #16 may be one of the tastiest, goodest, bad ideas I can't seem to shake. At least it has produce, right? The store is next to the grociery store and Country Waffles. Parking can be tight, since all the stores are pretty busy. Let me first say that I'm a huge fan of Togo's. I've been enjoying their sandwiches since the late 80's and they always put that other sandwich chain to shame. So, I'm used to ealing in and ordering like this: "Hi. I'd like a large #26 on parmesan with swiss." The sandwich artist would say "okay" and in a minute or two I'd have my sandwich and be on my way to blissful lunch. Now a days... #26 isn't even on the menu, but if I'm feeling confident and the sandwich artist looks seasoned I may order it anyways. Most of the time it is successful. This location? Not a chance. I've loved Togo's ever since I was a little kid growing up in Concord. But when I grew up and moved away to Hawaii, Asia, etc... I really missed it. So I would make it a point to grab a sandwich whenever I was visiting family. Recently I moved back to the bay area and I was lucky enough to move back close to the Martinez location. This specific store has been great and I have noticed a few standout employees. Even my elderly mom enjoys going to this branch because they treat her so nice. I'm not sure if naming employees is ok. But whenever I get Tre and Rachel. They are so friendly, they ask about your day and really TALK to the guests. So 5 star service from this crew and particularly these crew members. The sandwich was good but the Best By date on the bottled iced tea was June 4th 2018, and the current date is August 20th 2018, 2.5 months after the Best By date.
