We have been to Miami Beach many time but this is the first time we dined here. Probably the best Kosher steakhouse south of the 70th Street in the Miami Beach, FL area. We dined here Sunday, December 4th. Ok. Where do I start... 1) Everything is sparkling clean. From the tables to the wine and water glasses to the restroom. Yes, I make it my habit to check the cleanliness of the rest rooms in fine restaurants we patronize. Give you an idea about the place. 2) Staff was polite, courteous and well trained. We were seated right away. Our waiter helped us with our order by making recommendations based on our preferences and taste. 3) While we waited for our food, we got on the house fresh hot pita bread with a combo tray of little salads on the house. Smart move... kept us busy while we waited for our food. 4) Our food arrived fast and in the right order. First the appetizers with the drinks. Then the main dishes. We were attended to the entire time by our waiter and an assistant. 5) Food was exceptional delicious. Real culinary delight. 6) Great atmosphere all around. Nice ambiance. We had among others, Grill House Cigars, Asian Korean Steak (for him), Iron Strip Steak (for her), Cabernet and Merlot for wine, sides, desserts and more. Burgers were overcooked. They took back and chicken was acceptable. Fries were good. Wine list - no, Question, kosher dining is difficult but why would someone pay exorbitant prices for a steak if they cannot cook a burger to order. Also if you sell a steak for north on $100 how can you not have a decent wine list. There are many good kosher (even mevushal) wines. Sorry, I am not someone who wants to diss a kosher establishment but the truth is the only way to improve. read more

First off I would like to apologize for this long review. If you don't have time to read it then please read just the last line before you make the mistake of trying this place. I convinced my husband to try this place coz I read some good reviews. I wish I hadn't! We reserved a table but still had to wait 30 minutes because the waitresses were so inefficient. We finally sat down and were only given one menu and we couldn't ask for another because the servers were nowhere to be seen. We ordered a smoothie and asked that it be brought to us when our food is ready and our waitress Anna asked us to `remind` her when we want it!! Seriously! We ordered the lamb chops and chicken wingettes for starters and the Asian steak for the main and they all tasted the same because that's what happens when you use the same sauce for everything!!! We had to specifically ask for water because our waitress forgot the basics of waitressing! And the worst part of this horrific dinner was that when we received the check an 18% gratuity had automatically been added for groups of 2 or more ( who goes to an expensive restaurant to dine alone? ). So in short this place is extremely overpriced and the service is especially horrendous. Please don't waste your money!!! read more

This review is really about one thing: the felafel sandwich. I used to be a big fan of Oasis, their felafel sandwiches in particular. When that restaurant closed, my heart broke and I tried every felafel within a 5 mile radius to make up for it. Nothing came close. Grill House has been around for some time now, but I just never bothered stopping by. One day, a friend mentioned he was there and that the food was superb. This inspired me to visit the GH website, where I noticed that they had felafel sandwiches. (My preciousssss.) I was skeptical, but I picked up the phone and placed an order for pickup anyway. After I picked up my food, I rushed back to my office in eager anticipation. To my surprise, fries were included. Not bad for $8.67 (incl. taxes)! It all looked quite legit. And then I bit into it. The fluffy pita was filled with a hummus base, with felafels and Israeli salad laid on top, smothered in tahini sauce. It was... just like the Oasis sandwich! And thank goodness for that :) It was delicious!!! I am super relieved and satisfied. Seriously, I enjoyed the heck out of my meal. The fries were pretty yummy, too, and were very useful in scraping up fallen tahini sauce. After going back for more felafel sandwiches, I may one day sample the rest of their menu. The family rating was really a 4.5 so we rounded up. The food was very good. For the mains we had two orders of 2 short ribs, a lamb burger, and a ribeye. The ribs were tasty and meaty. The onlon rings were quite good, but I filled up on the meat. The lamb burger was very good. The steak was good, but we've had better. The appetizers were good also and the complimentary Israeli sides were tasty. If there is one downside here it's the busboys who could be a lot better. I will say the food was very timely and of course good. If you want wine ask for the premium list. Next time I'm in Miami Beach I would definitely go back. read more

This is by far the best and most authentic Israeli hummus not only in Miami, but on the east coast, including NY. Israeli hummus has a different taste than Arab hummus. If it is Israeli hummus you seek, don't miss this joint. The hummus masbacha (warmed hummus with chick peas and olive oil) is superb. The beef kabobs (done in Israeli patty style) are also well spiced and very tasty. The schoog is spicy hot but tasteful. This place is a winner. Beats much of the kosher/Israeli competition in the north beach area. Now for some negative. Skip the Moroccan meatballs and the non-Israeli dishes. For example, steer clear of things like Thai chicken, and the sushi is anything but. If you don't keep kosher, go elsewhere for Asian food. One of, if not the best kosher steakhouse in Miami. I went with a group of 8, we were seated immediately (we had a reservation) and both Alon (manager) and Shimi (owner/chef) introduced themselves. The service was outstanding, the food also. Most of our group did not keep kosher, and they were all impressed. Everything from the salads and appetizers, mains, drinks, and desserts were fantastic. I had been here twice before and enjoyed the food, although the service is never great. Tonight is the last time I'll ever eat here. After waiting about 15 minutes for our orders to be taken and watching later-seated guests have their orders placed first, our entrees arrived nearly 10 minutes before the sides. Eventually I had to get out of my chair and walk across the restaurant to ask the manager for our side dishes, and our entrees were cold by the time they arrived. But the best was yet to come. As I got into the second half of my $45 ribeye, I encountered a mass of gristle that constituted at least a third of the steak, so I called the manager over again to explain the situation. He brought it back to the chef and returned 30 seconds later to announce "It's a 20-ounce steak, there's going to be fat" (notwithstanding that only a small part at the edge was actually fat, and the entire steak certainly wasn't 20 ounces). About ten minutes later another employee or manager asked how we were doing and I explained the situation again, only to have him also try to lecture me about steak and to convince me that the gristle is actually fat. At that point I told him to just bring me the check, as I had lost any interest in staying there for another minute. It's bad enough to be served a bad cut of meat, but I wasn't going to sit there any longer and argue with people who don't know enough about steak to know what gristle is. Needless to say, no self-respecting restaurant would serve a steak that requires a large portion of it to be thrown out. I won't be back, and neither should you. (The photo below shows a piece of steak approximately 5 inches long and 4 inches wide at the widest end. Worst experience ever! DO NOT EAT HERE!!! The owner is a liar and is extremely rude to customers. I ordered a medium rare 55 day dry aged NY prime steak. They brought me a cold and extremely rare rib eye which was NOT aged at all and then they got mad at me for pointing out that it wasn't what I had ordered. The sides were also cold because they brought out all sides 25 minutes before our main dishes. When they pulled us into the kitchen to prove to us the steal cut was right, they pulled out meat which was NOT dry aged at all. To make matters worse, the owner/head chef called the cops on us simply because we were asking for them to adjust the bill. I could not believe how bad the service was...I'm still shocked as to how they treated us. We paid our $550 bill and left and will NEVER GO BACK. read more

If I can give this place zero reviews I would. First of all, I made reservations at 9 and they only sat me and my friends at 10 ocklock. They also took other people in to sit down before us and when we mentioned it to them , they completely disregarded us and kept telling us they would sit us down soon. They definetly have their clientele and sit people down based on that. Not only did they sit us down late, no one came to our table to take our order till 30 minutes after that. It was complete unacceptable and if it wasn't for that fact that we were starving and nothing else was opened, we would have left the minute We walked in. The waiters were extremely rude and ignored us when we tried to ask them anything and when I asked to speak to the manager, he claimed they were too busy to take our order but had the audacity to take other people's orders when we were there first. Once we got our food at 11 ocklock pm, ALL THREE STEAKS WERE RAW, we ordered medium well steaks and we've all been to many steakhouse and are well aware what medium well steaks look like. We sent our steaks back twice and it still came back raw. We were extremely angry and disappointed at the service and as well as the food. Grill house was DELICIOUS! My husband and I came to Miami for our honeymoon, and decided we had to try a kosher restaurant before we left. We ordered the Mediterranean platter and avocado egg rolls for appetizers, absolutely to die for!! It was so much food we couldn't believe we still had entrees on the way. When our beef short ribs and hamburger came to the table, we were nearly stuffed. And when you order 2 entrees, you get extra dips/sauces with your meal. It was a meal that could've fed 10!
