Things started off ROUGH. We were waiting an excessive amount of time for our drink order to be taken, actually for a waitress at all. The outdoor patio had a wait, but the inside was available and had 3 tables filled. It seemed like the wait staff were only outside so my husband went to the bar and asked if someone would come to take our order. There were glances exchanged among the staff that seemed to be about whoever our waitress was supposed to be, she never showed. We were 2 seconds away from getting up to leave when a super attentive guy from the bar side came over, took our drink orders and food orders and put a rush on them. He also offered dessert, on the house. Our food was excellent and came very quickly, still steaming! The dessert was amazing too, I recommend ordering some! Not sure what was going on with the wait staff that night, but hopefully it was a one-off thing. We have been coming here through the name changes and menu changes, we even got married here nearly 9 years ago so it was a relief to have our experience turned around for the better. read more

Had Valentines dinner tonight with friends at Grill in the Woods. They offered a special dinner with 3 courses and a bottle of wine, or their regular menu. Two of us did the Valentines menu, two off the menu. All was so good! On the Valentines menu, the goat cheese fritters, a scallop dish with risotto, and a New York steak with potatoes and veggies, and 3 different desserts to share. All cooked perfectly. Our friends had a burger with sweet potato fries, and steak frites....again perfectly cooked! Our server Tiffany was great! Fun to chat with, timed our meal well, and provided great service! Good service, food, and view. Had a great lunch with friends and was impressed with the large selection of beers and the food. The food and service here were fantastic. The BLT I had was so good and the options were generous. I would give this place a 5 star but the cocktails were not great. The peach burbon special was super bitter with barely any alcohol and definitely no peach. The waiter was super great about letting me order a new drink. My second drink, a lemon drop, was ALL vodka. I was essentially just drinking pure alcohol from a fancy glass. I'd totally eat here again, but next time I'll stick to soda. read more

Much improved service lately, menu is not bad, what is on the menu is done well. Server met me at the door with a takeout order, much appreciated. The only thing I would recommend is making the side door the golfer rentals entry during summer, so the carts aren't constantly parked next to the dining tables and so the servers aren't dealing with constant door traffic when bringing orders. read more

I cannot say enough about this gem of a spot we just had lunch at! Ashley was our server and the service was excellent! Do NOT expect ordinary bar food.. or ordinary anything! Food was SO amazing ! Kudos to whomever they acquired as chefs...they are so unique in their preparation !! Definitely 5 star!! We are heading back today... as we ordered a simple brat and the grilled potato salad(amazing)... and as the fellow patrons ordered and their food passed our table... we were so envious!!! Last time forbus eating here. The restaurant had made some positive changes in remodeling and to the menu, but the customer service is nonexistent of you aren't putting up an alcohol tab. They have moved the checkout register to directly in front of bar tables that are always occupied, the asst. manager (Willow) shouts down the bar at you instead of taking gnthe time to walk over to help check you out. The last 3 times we checked out we've had to climb over the top of groups of drunks to check out getting beer spilled on us in the process, just ridiculous. When I pointed this issue out to (Willow), that all they had to do was move the portable checkout down the counter a few feet she said " We aren't changing it". Adios. I would find better help if I was the owner, help that puts all customers first, not just the drinking public, this restaurant really was great when it opened as Fire Creek, but has declined ever since the first couple years of operation. read more
