Ground Beef Kobeeda Kabob Platter (comes with chickpeas)
    Gloria L.

Today is the first time I had Grill Kebab. I ordered the Kubedah Kebab and the ground beef was grilled to perfection, with a slight crispness. While I had ordered my kebabs with a salad, somehow they gave me the rice and salad dish. The salad was fresh, but it didn't have olives and I'm accustomed to having olives in my salads when I order middle eastern dishes. It'd be nice if olives could be added.

We had a hard time deciding what to get at the food court. We both deciding on this place. The staff was friendly and helpful. We both decided on a salad but with different proteins. The gyro and chicken were both delicious. The salad ingredients would use a little help. The salad came with naan bread which was delicious. Overall a good experience and a good choice.

Really enjoyed the chicken kabob meal I had. Everything seemed fresh and tasty. I have been here before and had the combo with lamb but I find just the chicken is better. The lamb can be a bit chewy. Enjoy your meal!

Don't buy food from this place. The owner is selling lamb kabob, but they are really steak.... We ordered our food and as we began to eat my princess bit down on her meat. The. Asked me to taste the meat. I asked her why did she ordered steak. She said she didn't order steak. We went back to the counter and spoke with the owner and he was very nasty. He said you don't know what you're talking about. You don't know what lamb tastes like. "WOW"....

This place is the best "mall" food you will ever get! It's really more like restaurant quality that is conveniently located in the food court of Montgomery mall. I eat here every time and it always hits the spot after a long day of shopping! The chicken kabob platter comes with tender juicy chicken, 2 kinds of rice, salad and dressing, chickpea stew, and my favorite Afghani green hotsauce. The quality and amount of food you're getting beats all the other options at the mall and serves Halal food. The service is fast and polite as well. Seriously so good!

I've been to the Grill Kabob at Tysons Corner Mall, Wheaton Mall, and Springfield Mall locations for years and they've all been great. Tasty food and generous portions. Tried this one at Montgomery Mall and the employees were rude and gave the smallest portions. The carryout container was tiny. Their rice was half the size, the chick pea container was half filled, and the bread was tiny. I couldn't believe it. Never buying here again.

Excellent food made fresh. Chicken kababs were juicy and flavorful. The garbanzo bean curry was delicious. The naan was fresh and crisp outside and soft inside. The rice was very flavorful. It was long basmati rice. Delicious! The salad was plentiful and fresh. They have a couple of sauces . Packed with care. We were very pleased. Highly recommend.

    There's a bug in the salad :(

There's a bug in the salad :( Wanted to give 1 star but the portion is good and the food is fresh so I gave it a 2.

Very decent food for a food court. Chicken kebab salad with a side serving of cooked chick peas and freshly baked nun for $12 is a good deal. Fresh, simple, cooked to order, well marinated chicken though a bit on salty side to my taste. Decent service ( staff is not smiley or overly friendly but efficient and respectful). Not a place that I would return intentionally but a good choice if you find yourself in a mall and are considering a quick healthy meal on a budget.

This place is so good! $11.99 for a chicken kabob that comes with two types of rice, amazing chickpeas in an even more amazing sauce, salad, chicken of course, bread and tzazaiki sauce I believe. The chicken had great flavors and was not dry at all. I felt like the portions were a great size and I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. This location is inside the Montgomery mall, across the hall from Chic-fil-a. Worth the trip inside the mall.

Chicken Kabob Platter (not in pic - extra dressing, something with beans or peas...not sure & a large pita type bread). I enjoyed it all.

Chicken Kabob Platter - great meal and it was made fresh in front of me - chicken cooked, salad added with a little dressing (extra provided on the side); pita looking bread which I just recently discovered is "Naan"...warm; rice was shelly and long - tasted good and I got some beans on the side (I think it was beans), which I ended up eating some of it later after my meal was done (I had forgotten it was there). Location picked at random from Montgomery Mall's website and I enjoyed everything in my meal that I plan to go back and try either the same thing again or maybe their Gyro. Can't beat fresh...Yum!!!

For appetizers, we got Mantwo and Bowlawani- it was absolutely DEMOLISHED. Mantwo is basically afghan dumpling, and the filling was incredible savory and had a meaty texture. The was my favorite appetizer, stuffed with spiced potatoes, lentils, and chives/leeks from what I saw. The dipping sauce of yogurt and mint went amazing with it. For mains, we got the Lamb Lawand and Lamb loin chop. The lamb lawand was this savory rice dish- they served it with mushrooms and a side of beautifully seasoned spinach. It came as a stew that you were able to mix with your rice as you please. As for the lamb loin chop, it was incredibly tender- falling off the bone. Dessert was difficult, as I am deathly allergic to all nuts. My partner got the hazelnut chocolate cake, and from what I heard they rated it very highly. I got the afghan ice cream; the flavor were incredibly unique, with notes of cardamom, saffron and rose water. I usually have a problem with rose water in my desserts, as it ends up tasting overly flowery or soapy, but I think it was executed well. The toppings of dates, mangos, and figs went incredibly well with the flavors of the ice cream. My only complaint was the service being a bit slow, but at the time we went it was incredibly busy, and I don't blame the workers. Otherwise, this was a great place to go to for an elevated meal! Not TOO fancy, but not too casual either.

We started off with the bowlani. It was a freshly gently fried samosa if I had to describe it. I enjoyed it very much. I wanted to try multiple items but for some reason wasn't very hungry so I went with the vegetarian aushuk and the mashawa soup. I also ordered the bread to dip in my soup. Everything was very tasty. The service was excellent and the overall vibe of the restaurant was pleasant. I'll be back for sure.

As for the service, there was always someone filling up our waters and our waiter was very nice checking in every now and then. The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

I'm a local customer and live just a minute away, so I've visited more than once. I came in for lunch today with my wife and our 1.5-year-old son. After placing our order and sitting down, the server loudly yelled from behind the counter for us to come get our water. It felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially with a young child. When I placed my order, I asked for extra white sauce, and I asked again when the food came out. Both times, the request was ignored. I also mentioned that we hadn't received our drinks, but instead of addressing it, the server again yelled for us to get the drinks ourselves from the cooler. The food itself was okay, but the bread was very poor--hard and barely edible. I even called the restaurant later in the evening to share my concerns, but was told the server was off at that time. Overall, very disappointing experience, mainly due to the customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to improvement.
