It took a bit to cook but it's understandable as it's made to order. The seasoning wasn't bad but was VERY salty. It needed to have a sauce with it. FANTASTIC LITTLE KEBAB joint in a modest strip mall off the main drag in Manassas VA. Its nothing fancy: counter service with about 6 tables inside. I patronize this place literally twice a week bc it's so DELICIOUS!! The staff are lovely, & efficient. The food is prepared to order, cooked perfectly, & wondrously flavorful! I always tend to get the chicken breast kebab platter which comes with 2 kinds of rice, a small iceberg salad with a cool cucumber ranch dressing, these fantastic garbanzos beans in a lovely flavorful sauce & freshly made unleavened bread from their oven. One who is done has been cooking, we are done . For years we had some fairly hefty gyros that were really great with made-right-in-front-of-you bread. This place was our favorite gyro place within 25 miles for the last 6 years. "Was" Lately the gyros have been getting thinner and thinner until finally... Today's sandwich had literally half a strip of meat. From a girth perspective, the Washington DC street vendor's hotdogs have a greater cross section. Now mind you, we bought two gyros tonight. The woman at the counter who made them knew exactly what she did. One nearly meatless gyro is maybe a mistake; two nearly meatless gyros is no mistake. It is saying "don't come back" and we heard it loud and clear. I just had a White Castle slider, no kidding more meat than either of the $9 gyros separately. My son and I have always been maybe overly nice to this woman at the register. She has always been a bit surly. Can't imagine what we ever did, but I probably shouldn't have eaten the gyros tonight as I have this sneaking suspicion, all things considered, she could have spit in it. Naan bread was amazing, the rest I wouldn't order again, sandwich was dripping with grease and vinegary sauce. samosa was dripping with grease. Be sure not to ask for a second napkin to wipe the grease from your hands unless you want some attitude with it...expensive for what you get. read more

3.5 starts for Grill Kabob - a staple in most mall food courts in the DMV. And that's a good thing, because the quality at most food court establishments are, at best, uneven. Grill Kabob provides a consistent option for quality food when you are on the go and the mall food court is your best option. When I take public transport to work, I typically catch the bus at the Manassas Mall, returning at 8PM. This particular night I was super tired and didn't feel like cooking. I planned to go to my go to Kabob place across the street - Grill Kabob Express. But I didn't feel like making the trek across Sudley and remembered Grill Kabob express in the food court and decided to give them a try. (Note: Grill Kabob and Grill Kabob Express are not affiliated. Grill Kabob Express has two locations and, despite the name, has a much more expansive menu than the food court locations of Grill Kabob. Grill Kabob does have locations that are not in the food courts that have a better selections of items.) I ordered a lamb kabob, which comes standard with the standard naan, side salad, and a mix of white and brown rice. It's a solid kabob plate, but nothing special. Lamb was pretty good, but could use a tad more flavor. The naan was smaller that I get at other places and a bit overcooked. The rice was really good and the salad was ... well, it's a salad. It was fresh and the dressing was nice. In the future I'll probably suck it up and go across the street to GKX. But the Manassas Mall Food Court is a joke, and the only "restaurant" at the mall is IHOP. (No seriously, that's it) So unless you want Mickey D's or Scrubway, Grill Kabob is HANDS DOWN your best bet for a decent meal at Manassas Mall. read more

By far my favorite place to get food. My Mom, daughter and myself all love the food here. You get a LOT of food for the price and it's absolutely delicious! It does take awhile to get your order, but that's because they grill the kebobs when you order it. read more

I hate to write this because I usually LOVE this place in Manassas Mall. However I was so horrified during my last experience with this place. I ordered the beef kabob and the lady (a new one I've never seen before) burnt the hell out of it. I tried to ask her for a new kabob but apparently she decided that she didn't speak English all of of a sudden. I asked the other lady there and she was telling the "cook" that I'm telling her it was burnt and the "cook" just looked at us like we were crazy! I had already paid for it, and ultimately did eat some of it but damn I was disappointed because it's usually really really good! IF she had given me a new kabob this review would have been completely unnecessary but the fact that she was inconsiderate, rude and ignored my request I had to post something. Grill Kabob is one of the few remaining decent places to eat in the Manassas Mall food court. The chicken and rice is excellent! The beef is sometimes a bit on the chewy side, and the tandoori bread is often flat and hard. It seems like the Grill Kabob locations have raised prices over the past years and the prices are moving out of the bargain range, but the alternatives in the malls are much worse. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The traditional chicken and rice tasted alright, and the serving size was definitely decent. But when I picked up my order and got home to eat it, I couldn't finish. I felt a little....off. My significant other decided to finish my leftovers, and he too ended up with a really twisted stomach. My wife wanted to have chicken kubaida and we only know one place which was about 45 minutes drive (far) so we decided give this place a chance. This place is only 15 minutes for us. I had chappli kabob, my wife had her favorite chicken kobaida and my son had gyro platter. All three dishes were great. Only criticism i have is. the meat for chappli kabob we little finer for me but it tasted great. I think we found a replacement for our original place (45 minutes) One thing i did not like was when owner told us "as soon as you guys are done, we'll close" there was no need for that. This is my favorite mall food of all time, I have to hit up this place every time I go to manassas mall. It's so good--I usually get either the chicken or the lamb platter. The portions are decent for ~$13 meal. It comes with basmati rice, bread, chickpeas, and salad. The white sauce is my absolute favorite !!! Good food. I wanted something besides a hamburger or whatever today so i figured i'd have a kabob. Ordered number 5 for 13.99 which includes a kobeeda (ground beef) and chicken Kabob with rice (lots of it) a "salad" and tandoori. Yeah, i'm writing this review while still eating this meal. You get ALOT of food. The salad is basically a few random veggies like carrots, red cabbage, lettuce and one slice of tomato and cucumber. The tandoori is big. It's crisp too. Rice is good. And i think the meat is good too. I was given two kinds of sauces. One of which was ranch dressing and the second unidentified. The woman did not speak very good English but told me this was "spicy". It isn't bad. A little bitter and very unique tasting. I can't compare it to anything i've ever tasted before. If i HAD to compare it id say its a bit bean tasting. All in all a good place and here are my tips for dining Grill Kabob. 1. Come with an empty stomach. I'm a small guy and the amount of food has left me with a carry out enough for another meal. 2. Be Prepared that your Kabobs will take about 7 minutes to cook. 3. Drinks cost extra unless you order a gyro and the thought of eating a baby sheep makes me feel kinda bad so.... 4. Get a second drink. You only have a single size option and it likely won't be enough for all the food. I got a second one from stir fry 88 (actually i had my brother do it since he ordered there) 5. Lastly, there are no spoons. Be prepared to catch rice with your hands. Great food. Ask for extra seasoning if you like less bland-ish meat. Overall 5 stars. read more

I agree with Scott H.--3.5 stars for Grill Kabob. I am not a guy that likes crowds so the Manassas Mall is the place for me. It is normally pretty darn empty and because of that the food establishments are limited. The Grill Kabob is the only choice (although a Peruvian style chicken place is supposed to open soon) besides fast food or IHOP. The food is standard kabob fare. Kabob, rice, salad, bread, and sauce. Nothing spectacular but currently the best option in the mall. It is a bit pricey for mall food but comparable to other kabob places. I agree with others the language barrier and the small one size fits all drink choice are a bit frustrating but until something better comes along it will be my go to option at the Manassas Mall. read more

After waiting at the counter for a good five minutes with no one else in line and the front area there was no one around, I called out in a friendly way to the back area where someone was working. Wow! I was greeted with a scowl by an extremely rude woman barking at me. She seemed upset that I was ordering and she gave me the worst sandwich I've ever had it was cold and it had less than two ounces of meat. She threw it together in less than 30 seconds And tried cheat me out of the drink. I wish I could post pictures because it was a disgrace to a good business. I came all the way across town for what I've known to be a very good Gyro only to be very disappointed. I'd like my money back. I am not demanding type customer. I don't know what went wrong with this place I used to love it. Today I don't know what went wrong I bought to chicken plates. When I got home I tasted it at first bite I knew something was off. The rice tasted off I started to get sick. I made my daughter try it to see if it was just my taste buds it wasn't. The taste or oil to that was cooked with was bad. I called the restaurant told them to taste their rice because I just got sick. The man over the phone told me his name was fajar. He continued to tell me to bring in the food when I told him I couldn't because I had went back to work. He said didn't matter when but to bring it even if it wasn't today. I wanted to speak to the manager because I couldn't understand exactly what he was telling me. He told me at first that they weren't their then that he was the manager. I got so frustrated because he raised his voice at me while I was trying to explain again what was wrong with the food and for him to taste it to see what I was talking about. I am a regular customer here at Grill Kabob in Manassas mall, I started eating here when they first opened, the Owner is friendly, the food is good enough, my mom loves it. The sauces are nice. Problem is the worker Jessina. I understand if you're having a bad day, but the manager definitely favors her too much, I've put up with her rude behavior one TOO MANY times. She gets fed up and calls the manager to answer, and rolls her eyes and doesn't even try to understand what im saying simple enough. This happened today as well as many other days. Probably the only reason I'd be at the mall on a weekday. Their chicken is great, their beef is so-so, and their lamb is very delectable. On rare occasions - - and maybe if they're busy--they'll forget to put some of their special sauce ontop of the salad, but the simple remedy to that would be to just ask for more. I always get the second combo which comes with about six pieces of meat, a plate full of rice (cooked very well), and a smaller portion of salad. Of course, they always prepare the pita bread--in the size of your face--right there, which is also added. For the price, I get more than a bargain, I'd say. The thing that keeps me coming back is their sauce. I always order extra. If I could, I'd eat there ever day. No lie. read more
