A good Grimaldi's pizza is still one of my favorites in the area, but this location has just been inconsistent lately and we have twice been disappointed in the quality recently. While once I would have given them 5 stars, I struggled to hand out the 4. The pizzas have been really sloppy lately and while the taste is mostly still there, a little more quality control could go a long way. Grimaldi's is a chain, but their pizza has a distinct flavor. I love it and usually the ingredient quality is spot on as well. In our recent visits, the pizzas were a mess. Unequal distribution of cheese, sauce haphazardly thrown at the pie, and even the toppings looked like they came from a bin at Subway, not really deserving of their price tag. Both visits were at 4:30, when the place is quiet so there was no excuse not to take their time in making our pizzas long before the dinner rush. Flavor wise, the food mostly holds up. It's an extremely floppy pie that you need to fold or cut to eat, but we find it generally delicious. Price is definitely high per topping...you're not going to want to order different pizzas for everyone...you want to find people that eat the same flavors as you do and split one. I appreciate that they will bring a piece of pizza dough for kids to play with. Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 - Cute New York decor, but it's Watters creek so parking sucks. Price: 2/5 Service: 4/5 I'm frustrated that our recent experiences have been less than what they should be. I looked back at my 2017 review. Almost 5 years ago! How time flies. I'm sure I've visited since then so, thought that an update is over due. Im not a true Grimaldis fan. The chain shops anyway. Im sure if I visited the original it would blow my mind. That being said, the overall experience is well rehearsed and you always get a pretty predictable experience. As I described in 2017. I live in a "Pizza Desert" and have to travel far, 25-45 minutes, for my favorites. There was a wreak on the freeway yesterday blocking easy travel to my intended dinning spot so, this was plan B. The original was a steak so, the fact I defaulted to Pizza may tell you Ive been craving it for some time. My craving,even though tamped down somewhat by the pepperoni,italian sausage with basil here,isnt 100% satisfied. We've gone to Grimaldi's four times. The first time was a great experience, even though I felt like the prices were steep for the pizza. Good pizza, but nothing to write home about. Their gluten free option is my daughter's favorite so I knew we'd be back again. Second time, it was a slow evening so our pizza was made promptly, the server was a kind gentleman who was attentive. Exceptional tip was give . That led us back to the third time where they made two mistakes on our order; one right after another. That wasn't a great evening because we were tired and the repeated mistakes delayed our pizza two times. By the time it was corrected, our other items were cold and some of our part had already eaten. Solid tip was given. Fourth, and now last, time was a terrible experience. We have a younger kiddo who is a mover so we ordered ahead to dine in so we wouldn't disturb other patrons. Upon arriving, we were told that wasn't allowed. I was kind and understanding and sought to cancel the order (it hadn't been made yet), then be seated and order there. It was quite the fight to have that happen but because it was for a birthday celebration for my Gf daughter, I persevered. What regrets! Drink order was mistaken TWICE (two kids waters, 2 adult waters, and a DP, not difficult). Then an entire pizza was missing from our order. We had only order three pizzas. At this point, I was not ready to be kind so I decided to say nothing and just tell them to remove the pizza once we were ready to pay. Server came once to refill drinks, even though we weren't busy, pizza was sub par. Manager finally came to us and apologized for the missing pizza. He said he would take 50% off our bill since our experience was terrible. Unfortunately, that did not happen whenever the server came to collect payment. I plan on working with the Grimaldi corporate office to get a refund for our pickup order. Additionally, I will request a refund on our dine in experience. If you are still reading, all you need to know is if you enjoy the following -- * Poor service * Overpriced pizza * Slow wait times * Incorrect orders Then go to Grimaldi's! I rarely post bad reviews but I was really upset with the service my friend and I received. After we were sitting for quite awhile with our menus closed, I had to go get the waitstaff since she didn't even acknowledge our presence. It did look like she was the only one serving two areas by herself. I asked twice for lemon for my Pepsi and never got it for the entire meal. Not once were we asked if we wanted refills. I am a regular at Grimaldis because the pizza is phenomenal!! I love the NY style pizza because in my mind it's healthier it's not as many calories as a deep dish or thick crust pizza right? I also love wood fired pizza it's the literal best. My go to at Grimaldi is pepperoni pizza with red onions and extra cheese!! The salads are also delish my fave is the Mediterranean salad. Also if you sign up for their rewards program you can earn points/rewards including a free pizza during your birth month. I've never had a bad encounter with any of the staff. They are always friendly and they provide the best service! The resident is always clean and when the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Yay for good pizza in Texas! Finally! Usually the line is out the door for this hot little location. We got in quickly this night and enjoyed a warm table on a chilly night. Sat at a table with adorbs checkered table cloths. The bar was out of many beers, only downside. The place smelled so enticing we nearly consumed that darling table tho! . At about 1:30pm 8/12, I ordered three 18" pizzas for pick-up at 5:45pm. When I got there, the staff person up front said that while they see the note for pick-up at 5:45pm, apparently the person who took my order did not inform the kitchen so my pizzas were made shortly after I called and have been in the warmer for 3+ hours - closer to 4! I asked if the pizzas were no good at this point, and they said they will be hard and so they asked if I wanted to have new pizzas made. I said if they already knew about the mistake, why didn't they go ahead and remake the pizzas so that they would be ready when I got there? First timers here! We went on a Friday, and I checked the reviews and knew we'd probably be waiting for a table. Sure enough, we got there around 6:30p and there were people congregated outside waiting for tables. It was about a 30min wait, but the cool thing is they text you when your table is ready. So, we went and grabbed a beer at Lion & Crown while we waited for the text. Once we got in, they seated us next to where the pizzas are made. That was pretty freakin cool. Our server was a gem (he was so sweet) and we ordered a salad appetizer and 2 pizzas. The pizza took slightly longer than I was hoping (but it's prob because we already waited 30min to get the table) but we enjoyed the food and decided we would definitely be back. Pizza was not as good as I am accustomed to at this location. Very soupy/wet. Service was good, but they are not very clean. They flip their table clothes after customers leave the table or don't change them out. I have witnessed this on several different occasions. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order because of a "communication error" my husband ordered a gluten-free extra pepperoni pizza and I ordered the barbecue chicken pizza with no cheese. I guess someone had to teach them how to make a pizza with no cheese because my husband received his pizza and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for mine. When I finally got it, it was horrible. There was very little chicken or bacon on my pizza and what was on there was dry with no flavor. read more

Food was good. 2 complaints is that the pizza was not cut well and we struggled to serve it, and even though we added onions and chicken to only a quarter of the pizza we got charged the same as if it was all covered! This location is the absolute worst. They have NEVER ever ever gotten the order right here. That is 0%. Last time, my BBQ chicken pizza unexpectedly had mushrooms. You have to take food allergies seriously. Every time I pick up my pizza here, I have to check to make sure it's the correct order. Since it's (literally) never correct, I always find myself in a position where I either have to cancel for a refund or wait another half an hour because I'm starving and don't want to deal with going elsewhere. First time coming to Grimaldi's and I would definitely recommend this place. Pictures don't justify the way food taste. Everything taste super good. We had a waiter named Taylor. He was great. Very attentive and would love to have him as our waiter next time we come back. The ambiance was nice and not too loud. Everyone working there worked well together and did their position well. Grimaldi's is underrated. Usually large chains struggle to maintain quality, but they do it right here. Whenever I want a weeknight pizza, I pick up a traditional or margarita pie from here. My only gripe is that I wish they swept the oven more often. Sometimes I get pies that have a lot of burnt black bits on the underside. Other than that they have a decent crust and an excellent tomato sauce. In my opinion, it's best when it's simple with just mozzarella and/or basil. read more

Since corporate refuses to answer emails I'll post my email here. This occurred on December 19th. Today, my family and I attended your restaurant (Grimaldi's Allen) to celebrate my mother's birthday. Our pizza order took forever, and when it finally came out, it was incorrect and missing 2/3 ingredients. The remake then came out almost 20 minutes later without yet another ingredient. During this time, we had moved tables. When moving, my grandmother reached to scoot a chair into our table, only to have her skin completely ripped away by a sharp object underneath the dining chair. Immediately, there was blood all over the floor, the table, and her napkins. When we looked at her wound, she was missing a large chunk of skin and continued bleeding profusely despite the pressure. We told our server my grandmother had been hurt and that we need a manager. It took 5 minutes to get the blood on the floor cleaned up, and my grandmother was NEVER offered a bandage, ointment, ice, or an apology. Completely unacceptable. I had to leave the table several times to request bandages, and none of your employees seemed the least bit concerned. Blood continued to soak her napkins, which we then changed out for bandages. We left the bloody napkins on the table where it would stay throughout the entire duration of the visit. My grandmother was not asked for her information or if she would like to seek medical treatment. We believe she may need stitches or medical attention due to her injury. I personally had to speak to your Jonathan, not once, but twice. I was told that he had other issues going on in the back to attend to. I asked him to take my information and to file an incident report, something he should have done on his own. Neither management nor employees removed the chair that had cut my grandmother. Absolutely nothing was offered as compensation for her injury. I told Jonathan about our food being delivered incorrectly twice, and he then issued a "Friends and Family" discount. So we received a discount for our messed up order but absolutely nothing for my grandmother's skin being ripped off. My grandmother was afraid of causing a scene and has health issues so she was too worried to speak up. She is hard of hearing as well and didn't want to ruin my mother's birthday gathering by speaking with a manager, so I am speaking on her behalf. A manager should have been at our table immediately, offered my grandmother treatment, and had the chair removed. The blood should've then been cleaned from my grandmother's seat, then floor, and an incident report should've been made in that instant. The bill ought to have been taken care of at the very least, and my mother's birthday should've still been honored/recognized. I've seen better treatment from unhappy customers regarding food, so the lack of attention when an elderly woman has her finger sliced by your company's property is appalling. I urge you to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter, address the lapses in protocol, and take immediate corrective actions to prevent such incidents in the future. Additionally, we request a follow-up on my grandmother's well-being and appropriate compensation for the distressing experience. (Absolutely no response or follow up) read more

There is always a long wait to dine here on the weekends and they don't use the online waitlist or reservations on the weekends either. Fine, I thought, I'll just place a takeout order. As others have mentioned, the space to wait for takeout orders is crowded by the front door, making it a human game of Tetris every time someone is called to be seated or claim their to go order. Even placing our order online 90 minutes ahead of time, it was delayed 15 minutes more. The pizza was ok, but for the cost and hassle, order from another local place instead. read more

Pizzas is has a good taste but not the best I ever had. The bad was service was extremely slow it takes 45 mins to get a pizza after you order dine in. The topping was spare for the price of the topping I order grilled chicken as a topping barely a few bites of chicken on the whole pizza the same for red onions. Topping prices is very expensive just chicken and chicken sausage was a total of 9 dollars. Topping total alone was close to 20 bucks , pizza price alone was 40 dollars, not worth it. The good was the salad super fresh, the crust was perfect and the pizza had a good taste..
