I guess I'm gonna start liking Schlotzsky's again. It's been 15 years since I last at here. Nice interior here in McKinney good size sandwiches for decent price and they have baked potato soup which is also really good and served hot (unlike Panera). Really good service too

Pick 2: Bacon Grilled Cheese and Southwestern Chicken Salad. Comes with a tomato bacon dipping sauce that is basically soup. Yum.

Went here for a quick lunch before going back to work. Close to where I work, so I'm about the convenience factor. I've been to a Schlotzsky's before, but I think I always end up ordering the wrong thing. I hadn't been to this McKinney location, and I haven't been to a Schlotzsky's in years... So decided to go in and look at the menu. Ended up getting the Pick 2. Had half of the Bacon Grilled Cheese sandwich and half of a Southwestern Chicken Salad. I am so glad this is what I chose. The bacon on the sandwich was crispy like I like it. It came on a pretzel bun which is great. The salad was huge. I could have split it, and that would have been fine. I had ranch dressing. Something spicier would have been nice, but they didn't offer anything. I added some Louisiana Hot Sauce to my ranch, and it added the kick I needed. Very much enjoyed my experience here. The service was nice, liked how calorie information was listed on the menu, and the food was great.

Pick 2 with Turkey Cobb (sans goat cheese) and Smoked Turkey sandwich. Way more food than this picture captured.

Stopped in here for lunch today, when I needed a turkey sandwich. I used to come to Schlotzsky's all the time in high school because there was one nearby, but I've probably only been twice in the last 10 years. Not sure why, I just never think of it even though I drive by this location daily. Anyway, we got the "pick 2" with two half salads and two half sandwiches. My first issue was that the menu is up on big TVs on the wall but there are no descriptions until you get to the register where they have a paper menu on a stand. Perhaps there were paper menus somewhere I missed, but having descriptions on the large menu doesn't seem that difficult. I got the turkey cobb (with no goat cheese, ick) and the smoked turkey sandwich. The cashier was a nice, young red-headed girl and she was very friendly and on it, even coming to check on us later. The total for two "pick 2" and two drinks was $22. My first thought was, "How did I eat here in high school?" and my second was "Those better be excellent salads." Well, we don't know about whatever deals they had back the day, but I can say they were excellent salads and sandwiches. TONS of food. I even took some salad home. Everything was fresh and delicious. My only complaint was the amount of mayonnaise on the sandwich. I thought "lite" was referring to calories, not the quantity of the mayo but, that was an easy fix. I can't wait until the next time I remember this place exists!

We learned that Hugs Cafe is a nonprofit that employs adults with disabilities, which made us want to support them even more. We had the Reuben, the Peach Gobbler, and the potato salad and everything was absolutely amazing. The jams used on the sandwiches were so unique and sweet, and they paired extremely well with the meat on each sandwich. Every bite was flavorful and clearly made with care. The potato salad was also delicious and the perfect side to our meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service was warm and welcoming, and you could truly feel the heart behind this place. Perfect spot for breakfast or lunch -- just don't sleep in too late because they close at 3pm! I grabbed a sandwich, a cup of soup, and a drink for around $15, which felt like a steal considering the good vibes included free of charge. Everyone working there genuinely seemed happy to be there, and the enthusiasm was so strong we actually had to defend our food from an adorably overachieving employee trying to clear the table before we were finished. Honestly, if the whole world had that level of work ethic, we'd all be retired by now. Do yourself a favor and stop by Hugs -- good food, amazing mission, and enough positivity to restore your faith in humanity for at least the rest of the afternoon!

A tad more sauce (great sauce) and another minute in the oven! The Italian Sammy....dang good! One of the better ones I've had. I will order it again on next visit. Cut into it and that runny yolk pours right over the warm corned beef, adding an extra layer of rich, creamy goodness. Messy in exactly the right way. Great portions, great flavors, and food that makes you want to come back before you've even finished lunch. That corned beef, egg, and runny yolk combination alone is worth the trip. First, the spot is actually really cozy and has a well-maintained neighborhood vibe. It's self-seating so we picked a spot near the huge flatscreen so we could also watch a little television. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu is HUGE, so maybe study it a bit to cut down on decision fatigue. I was initially torn between a breakfast plate and the cheese blintzes. I figured, why not go with the blintzes, because you don't really see as an option much these days. I also got a side of cherry compote and orange juice. The orange juice was nice and pulpy. As for the cheese blintzes and the cherry compote- I think I could've done without it- it made it too sweet. But, it was served in the side, so iI just didn't eat much of it. The blintzes themselves were very good and definitely had a very gratifying texture. Slightly sweet on their own, but not too much. My husband had the franks and beans. I didn't try them, but I did snag a French fry and it was very good- golden and perfectly crispy with a piping hot soft center. Prices were a bit steep, but this is a neighborhood restaurant and iI think it's always good to support locally when you can. Goodness knows, prices for goods is high and labor is not cheap. Overall, I would definitely consider coming here again, but this time I would like to try one of their breakfast plates to get a better baseline.
