We just drove into Corpus and wanted some pizza but not your typical fast pizza fare. So we decided to visit Grimaldi right off the highway. Preface this by saying our son this Little Ceasers is great pizza and that he has been content with his pick. We wanted to broaden his horizons with this and hoped for the best. We started with a salad which we split 4 ways; and the ordered half cheese and half prosciutto arugula. Pizza came out quick and piping hot. Both our kids loved the cheese and the specialty pizza option. It didn't take long for us to finish the whole pie. It was post lunch so it was relatively empty, and we took our time and service was great. Now my gripe, the up charge to have half and half a pie??? Fountain Drinks are pricey and I get it; but I don't like it. Could've been a 5 if it wasn't for value for money. But they do make darn good pizza. read more

First time here and was not really satisfied with how the pizza came out or price. It was just too pricy for pizza that wasn't so good and very blackened on the bottom. The top crust looked okay but the bottom, suspiciously black. Why? My hands were black from eating some of it. One pizza with 4 toppings, almost 40 usd, they got a little greedy with the toppings too, like they were running low and wanted to save. I also ordered mushrooms and they put like 1 or 2. Very rude hostess on Wednesday evening 12/7/22. Was very bothered when I asked her if the ovens were ready to cook. I'm sorry I don't have the times memorized. We were seated in the back room area all piled up with 3 other tables and the whole rest of the restaurant was empty. She couldn't even be bothered to tell us to follow her to the table. She just took off on her own. Thankfully are waiter made up for it. Nothing above and beyond, but was attentive. This is an update. I gave them a consistent 5 but my last 3 visits have Mr slowing way down on a return. The first of these 3 visits they served a pie that was clearly over done because they cut away pRt of the crust before bringing it to the table. That is unacceptable. The second visit was generally poor service. This last one was when we sat down, ordered, then added a calzone to go. They served us our lemon arugula salad which is great. Waited the typical 15 to 20 minutes for our pie. Ate our slices. We then asked for the check and our calzone. Got the xheck. Paid the check and still no calzone. First excuse, we'll they can take more time. Second excuse: they usually take 30 minutes. Of course it says that .... oh wait it doesn't say that anywhere. Third excuse: well you did order it with sausage. That actually is a raw ingredient that takes a longer time to cook. Maybe just say, hey we messed up. We didn't get it in timely. Let ne refill your drinks while we get this out ASAP. That is way better than the BS. Yes their food is usually tasty but step it up on services and communication. read more

I've accumulated a few gift cards for this place over the past two or three years, so we decided today would be a good time to try Grimaldi's. We had a problem with the INS situation that came out of this restaurant a few years ago, so it took some time for us to get around to feeling like giving them any business. Covid protocols still in place I called in the order and picked up at the outside bar counter. Actually grateful for that. Got a large salad and "The Don" with three veggies added. Salad was fine...no wilted veggies or anything. A bit pricey. The pie...pretty uneventful. Thin crust and almost no tomato sauce. I mean you really had to look for it. The crust? I've rarely come across such tasteless crust before. Not sweet...just blah. Wife said the same thing...blah on the crust, where's the tomato sauce. The toppings were fine, but the BASE of any pizza is the crust and the sauce. This the fail. I've got more gift cards. We'll be trying something else on the menu to use those up...but not another pizza. We've got better local choices. Problem is...their other choices are going to be using the same pizza dough. Blah. EDIT: I'm adding this edit after getting a comment from the restaurant. A strange experience with the pizza is that we got the 18" between two people, so there were left overs. The reheated pizza actually tasted better than the fresh. I don't think I've ever experienced that before but we both thought that to be the case. Overhyped pizza at a premium price. Located in a mall with an exterior entrance, it was not easy to get to, having to dodge traffic and play Russian roulette to get through the parking lot. There was valet parking which I chose not to use. The entrance was on the exterior of the mall and the bar opened up to outside seating - which was not great since the day was a bit chilly and windy and I was sitting inside getting the draft. While the pizza was good, it's not my favorite. It was extremely expensive for a single large pizza and it just wasn't worth the cost. You may like upscale places with upscale prices. I prefer great pizza at reasonable prices. I'll be back only if it is my only option. read more

I've always enjoys this location bc it is consistently good and we have eaten at every Grimaldis in South Texas multiple times but we always favor the Corpus Christi location. Never have I gotten a limp or wilted salad. Never have I gotten and undercooked or overdone pizza. The sauce and dressing is always good. The dough is always perfection. And don't get me started on the cheese because I'll have to rush down there to snag pizza for lunch then. It's the combination of good people, great service, and excellent food that has us always coming to this location.
