Marg. pizza with a side of vodka sauce (naturally)
    Molly B.

Having grown up down the street from this place, I am oh so very loyal to my Grimaldi's. Grimaldi's has the perfect pizza-eating environment. It is clean, well-ran, with just enough noise to be lively and fun without being overwhelming or deafening. The kitchen layout is visible to diners and it is always fun to watch how the pizza is made while you wait (but tortorous if you're starving!) The staff is super friendly and attentive from the moment you walk in until they wave you goodbye on the way out. The pizza is OUTSTANDING. They've mastered brick-oven style pizza. The mozzarella and parmesan are always fresh, the sauce is tangy and flavorful, and the crust is TEXTBOOK. As a non-crust eater the majority of the time, I find myself reaching over to my friends plates to do clean-up. Don't overlook any of the apps or calzones either. Things are super filling, however, so I recommend just splitting an order of spinach artichoke dip for the table while you wait for your pizza to arrive. Now being of legal drinking age, I understand why my parents would want a no-kids Grimaldi date time to time. The drinks are great and the bar atmosphere is a blast. I'd recommend checking out their seasonal cocktail specials. Pro-tip: Don't shy away from order a side of vodka sauce with your margherita pizza. Getting the vodka slice just won't hit as good. Also, definitely add the garlic, chili flakes, and extra parm from the shakers on each table to your slice. You don't NEED it per se, but it certainly does take things to the next level.

Great pizza in a casual environment. Grimaldi's doesn't disappoint. Order a specialty pie or create a custom pie, you will no doubt be pleased. Unsure of what to order, chat with the friendly servers who are happy to help or guide you in your decision.

The last time I went to Grimaldi's was several years ago at the Douglaston location. I recall the novelty of watching them make the pizza in front of you Ambience: this place is a notch above your local pizzeria. The pizzas are made to order (I.e. you can't pick a slice). Food: we ordered Spinach Artichoke Dip - the chips taste like it's fresh from a bag from Costco. The spinach dip however was fresh spinach in melted mozzarella. 3/5 Pizza with bacon and jalapeño - the bacon was shredded bits and the jalapeño was the pickled kind that you get out of a jar. Unfortunately, the sourness from the pickled juices was overpowering and ruined it for me. Using fresh jalapeño would have been better. 3/5 Service - servers were friendly and attentive, however, they forgot a soup we ordered. They offered to pack a soup to go on the house to make up for it. 4/5

My favorite Grimaldi location. Super quiet neighborhood with a huge private parking lot. The service here is perfect. I gotta be honest, this was so close to a 5 star review except the crust could have been cooked about a minute longer. Good undercarriage bit could have been great. Don't worry, I'll still be back soon because it's that good.

First time trying this place! I know there was one in Brooklyn and this is now the Long Island location. The pizza was delicious the ingredients were high quality you can tell from how great the cheese pull was just with fresh mozzarella. The bartender was outstanding and so was the girl at the entrance. I will definitely be coming back again!

The food is amazing. The staff is very attentive. The Cocktail menu is great- the winter menu and old fashion drink varieties are delicious! I can't say more about the wait staff. I made a reservation and came for dinner and was not disappointed. Meals as simple as personalized pizza or larger sizes for sharing. I came back multiple times thereafter. Even just came to sit at the bar for the specialized drinks with friends.

Very good pizza but it is very unfortunate that you cannot buy individual slices and have to buy a whole pie.

Did this location close? Drive by a month ago and was all papered up

Nope, should still be open. At least as far as 3 weeks ago

When do they have happy hour and what the prices discounts are?

Monday-Friday 4-7. Beers on tap are 3$ and personal pies and salads are 5.50. I think all other drinks are 1$ off

    Do they serve pasta here?

    Yeah!

Are pets allowed at the outdoor seating?

Maybe but why bring pets where people are eating? No one wants dog hair in their pizza. I say this as an animal lover who has 2 pits.

My cousin and I went inside and were greeted by a nice fellow behind the counter who patiently explained the difference between Grandma pizza and Sicilian pizza to her. The pizza looked really good. It was. The Grandma was very good, and crispy. The spinach pizza was so full of cheese and spinach, I couldn't even finish it, because I had already finished the other two slices... one of which was the best... an olive slice from a small pie that had a few whole (pitted) green olives and a little roasted red pepper on it. The slice had the distinct flavor of olive even when you weren't biting into one of the olives. LOVED IT. We say at a high-top table, enjoyed the atmosphere there and I had no complaints. Should I find myself back in the area looking for a decent pizza meal, this will be the spot.

They're a huge portion that makes the price tag fair (which is really hard to find lately). It looks super flavorful but it really doesn't taste like much. Sorry I won't sound that way in this review. I don't jump on YELP to review right away unless something's really got me irritated and fed-up. The Ambiance is basic pizza place IMHO.. Plenty of tables and space. I've eaten pizza and pasta dishes for at least 65 of my 70+ years on this earth and worked in a pizza place during the late 70s-early 80's and I KNOW my pizza AND pasta, especially the sauce. Today's baked ziti and baked stuffed shells was literally out of this world, meaning it tasted like it came from an alien, possibly one of those we've been hearing about on the MSM news. It Was HORRIBLE! No, I don't have pictures because I do NOT have a cell phone or a cam. My wife does but she is not home today. Trust me, I do NOT knock pizza places unless it is well deserved, like this place. This was the 3rd time I've tried this place. The 1st time I ordered the same as today. It was delicious. The 2nd time I ordered a round cheeses pie which was a bit too well done for me, so not satisfied. The very 1st time I had just a slice or 2 and was very satisfied, which is why I went back. Today, I'm sorry I decided to stop there. It's a total waste of $27 as I can't even eat this. It looks and tasted like leftover food from last night. The stuffed shells were way overcooked. So soft that when I attempted to transfer to a big bowl, they fell apart. Too soft and the "ricotta" was not creamy or melted. It looked like ricotta does when it's gone bad. I was afraid to eat it, THAT'S how bad it looked. I did TRY it along with the baked ziti, but not good at all. So, you might wonder how the baked ziti was? HA! NOT GOOD AT ALL! The ziti tasted as it looked. Overcooked. Some brown "burn" spots on the mozz, (very little cheese) and the same "expired looking" ricotta. I tried a couple fork fulls but it tasted burnt to me. well done, burnt and dry. Sorry guys but this was horrible and unacceptable. This was to be for my wife and me tonight. Now I'll just make my own, which I'm quite capable of and KNOW it will be edible and much much better than the garbage I was given today. I would call but the convo would not be pretty since I'm in a rotten mood, so I am just writing it here. I won't waste my time or gas in bringing it back. This place is NOT around the corner. I was just passing by again so I figured I'd get some hot food. I should've stuck with the pizza. I mean really; how do you screw up baked ziti and shells? There's 3 ingredients plus the pasta. The Ricotta HAD to be bad to begin with and then the overcooking it compounded it - or vice-versa. I hate throwing away food but this is going in the garbage AFTER I get my wife to take a couple pics. Both meals are in a big bowl, mixed together since the shells fell apart and I THOUGHT maybe the ziti could be salvaged using some of the sauce from the shells but even then, it tasted horrible. Obviously, Enzo's is off my fav. places to eat pizza/pasta list. It does take the #1 worst ziti and shells spot though. So bad I wouldn't even want another order if offered. I'll take the loss. It's not the first time I've wasted cash. Live and learn. Calda, Positano's, Sbarro's, Gino's and a couple other places nearer to me have yet to disappoint, so I'll stay with them. So now, having just wasted $27 and annoyed at that thoughh it could've been worse, I'm going to drink my blues away with a beer or 3 and then I'll feel better - or fall asleep in front of the TV. If my wife takes a picture and we can figured out how the heck to upload it from her phone, I'll do that as soon as possible. EDIT: The bread given with the meal was also hard and cold as if ( again ) it was leftover from yesterday or even before then. But from what I recall about the bread, it looks a lot better than it tastes. I'll be throwing that out too.
