Our start capacitor for our A/C compressor went out just as Caleb was doing a service call next door on a Sunday afternoon. Needed help quickly on a very hot summer day. It was a mystery assignment and their tech was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Even I don't like assigning a mystery to be solved that alone an electrical and A/C mystery. Called De Air and was able to get same day appointment as our A/C unit has not worked in over a year and we had no idea what the problem was. I was referred by my aunt who had repairs done on her central A/C unit a few years ago for a reasonable price (our homes are across the street from each other and built them at the same time). The last vendor I called suggested I replace the whole unit as it's almost 20 years old (would cost $9-10k on the lower end), the unit has been discontinued, we were out of refrigerant ($125/lb) or if he's able to repair it it would be estimated at $2-3k. There was no way I was going to fork over that much money without getting at least second opinion. Kaleb (technician) arrived as scheduled (after hours), inspected the unit, described the problem, and was able to repair everything for way less than what I was quoted from the first vendor (Definitely not in the thousands and we were still good on refrigerant!). He worked efficiently, was very friendly & professional and knowledgeable of every aspect of what we needed. In addition, he waited patiently to test out the A/C to ensure that it cooled properly before leaving. I appreciated his honest work ethics. He only fixed what was broken and did not try to sell us something we did not need. He helped saved us thousands of dollars. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend to others. read more

Super quick service! Gal on phone was super nice and technician as well. Came out next day. Unfortunately our system is some crazy system that isn't common and takes a special certification since they are so dangerous so the technician wasn't able to fix the problem. He was upfront and professional about the situation and explained a lot to me. They didn't charge for the call which was unexpected and appreciated. If I could give De Air in Oroville more stars I would. My downstairs air conditioner quit working. I called the company who installed it and it took 2 weeks for them to make an appointment. When they came they said I needed a new unit. The unit was only 9 years old and only used 6 of those years. I then called De Air for a second opinion. They told me the tech would be out the same day between 1 & 4. He, Kaleb, showed up at exactly 1 pm. He looked at my air conditioner and said the capacitor was bad and fixed it. He was outstanding and De Air should be proud that he works for them. He saved me thousands of dollars for a new unit. This was the worst company to get service from. Very unprofessional and rude. After making an appointment for our A/C unit my partner was told that our appointment was between 1-3 pm. That's all the information he was given about how appointments operate. When three o' clock rolled around we never had a worker come. My partner took time off work to situate out a/c needs and we depended on this appointment. We received a message that our spot was given away in an emergency because we didn't answer the phone when they called to confirm they should come up. We were never told there was a confirmation call we were responsible for answering. We assumed sine we have an appointment window they would just come up.We live in a rural area and our reception isn't always the best so we depended on this appointment time and would have never told them to call first. Had they told us they were going to call first we would have assured them to just come up or waiting by the phone in the best area we get reception and not outside waiting for the truck! How we were treated when we called about this problem made matters even worse. After explaining we did not get crucial information about their service process we were made to feel like it was our fault! They told us "we don't like to waste our drivers time" and tried to schedule us another appointment all the way next week. When my partner said that was unacceptable they said "well you can get someone else to come up then". Our business is obviously not very valuable. We promptly canceled all appointments and are now having the much kinder and more thorough people at Royal Air in Chico come service our A/C. It's going to be a long summer for de air if they keep treating customers like this. The only reason this has 1 star is because i couldn't give them zero.
