Grimm is one of the best breweries around! We have been coming to Grimm since the pandemic began. This weekend was the first time we got to experience outdoor seating! The beers are consistently delicious and the service has been fantastic! We had to purchase snacks due to Cuomo's alcohol/food mandate. Grimm offered many delicious options that were locally sourced and we narrowed it down to the chorizo and cocktail nuts. The snacks paired perfectly with our drinks. Really fantastic brewery making some ground breaking beers with a fun tasting area. Beers: Grimm is really pushing traditional barriers while maintaining great taste across all beers. The Jam Dont Shake (PB&J Stout collab with Other Half)was one the best tasting stouts I've ever had ... and it was 17%. The Energy Field IPA was unbelievable NE IPA. While I'm not a sour fan That is probably where Grimm is being most innovative/successful. If your a Sour fan this is a must stop destination. Vibes: Really nice venue right by the L which can accommodate large groups. They also partner with local food vendors and it's always great. read more

Needs an attitude check and the front of the house needs to stop clicking on 30% tip for a pick-up as if I did not notice before confirming my purchase on the screen. Anyone else experience the snooty attitude with the front of the house from time to time? Snooty is not synonymous with exclusively good considering there are great beer distributors in Brooklyn with excellent customer service (Three's Brewing, for example). Be sure to check your receipt before confirming your purchase. I would have been glad to tip despite the purchase being a pick-up, but on my own accord, and the attitude for some pick-ups depending on who's at the front needs a check. The beer is great. This place has actually got me to like beer! I'm not a beer drinker but I've had three different beers from here that I really enjoyed! The ambiance is great and breathable despite how packed it was there. I do NOT however recommend the cider, it smells like a public toilet and tastes worst. I still give this place five stars because despite the fact I'm an avid cider drinker and the one cider on the menu I thought was a sure thing was a complete abomination, they did however manage to do the impossible and turn me on to some good beer! :) read more

Checked this place out before a show at Brooklyn Steel and I think I just found my pre and post show go-to spot! Huge space with lots of tables and standing room, this place is ideal for groups (or really anoyone). All the beers on tap were brewed in house. I enjoyed both IPAs I tried and would love to come back to try more. My only gripe is that there isnt a menu explaining the flavor profile of each beer that is listed behind the bar. Really just rolling the dice unless you ask the bartender what each beer is like. Also has some food available in the corner, but didnt try it or really see anyone ordering it. Brewery is very spacious and beautiful inside. Love the giant plants and lights all around. Mostly came to try the sours but my friends had some stouts that they weren't in love with. The flavors are very different and unique with hops and other brew techniques they use. Staff were all very friendly. I wish they had more of a flight option instead of just 4/8 oz pours. Since I have an infant the bathroom with a changing table was a major bonus! Picnic tables are very close together which made it hard to navigate around but being it was a Saturday and pretty packed out it was an enjoyable time. read more

Finally made it to the Grimm taproom. Been a fan of theirs for years, and was always surprised by the fact that they never had their own location to enjoy their wares out (previously they were gypsy-style brewers). Overall, the space is very, very nice. They spent a lot of time putting together a great taproom, with ample space. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, and the place was pretty packed, but we didn't have trouble finding a seat with the kid, and ordering drinks at the bar was easy. For their beers, we stuck with the IPAs this time around. They were quite good, but lost some of the magic from their original cannings. We will be back, and will have to try their other offerings. read more

Wildly fantastic! Finally, they have a brewery to call their own. The tasting room is spacious and nicely decorated--not too much and not too little--just right! The bathrooms are even painted in their cover art and nicely done. Everything was aesthetically pleasing. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday and it was busy, but overly crowded. We were able to snag a table in the corner and enjoy our beers. It definitely got a lot busier by the time we left as people were standing around stalking for a table to open up. I sampled all their IPAs except for the sours, but my husband and friend had them and loved everything. Overall favorite at the time of pours would have to be Lumen. Super juicy! They also have a small counter in the back serving snack-esque foods. We left with a case of a little bit of everything and teku glasses. A+++ read more

I was really excited to check out Grimm. That excitement faded very, very quickly. I walked in thinking I'd been in East Williamsburg, only to find I had wandered into a suburb outside Boston - or was it an Indianapolis shopping mall - replete with cargo-shorted dads, cupcake-covered tables, scattered strollers, and whatever else people used to come to New York to avoid. This whole City might be sinking under the corrosive, sanitizing flood of gentrification but I've never seen an invasion of a once-distinctive and eclectic neighborhood by so milquetoast a group in such a stark and short period. The bartenders were generally lackluster and inattentive; offering little in the way of guidance amongst the bar's half-dozen indistinguishable sours or similar number of IPAs except the repeated refrain that "we don't offer samples." When I found out that there was a brewery in Brooklyn that had a large selection of sour beers, I had to go. My wife and I was accompanied by our go to couple to check out the brewery on a Sunday night and to my surprise, they stay open pretty late. The place didn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in, you are welcomed by huge tanks and barrels where they make and store their beers. There is a decent amount of tables to the left of the entrance and to the right was a long bar where you can taste and order. Grimm had a large variety of different types of beer ranging from ales to cider but my eyes were focused on their sour beer selection. There were quite a few to choose from, some more sour than others while others had a fruity note such as pineapple and passion fruit. I ordered a glass of the Geodesic Dome and it was amazing! The ale is brewed with passion fruit and had the perfect amount of sour taste to it. This was definitely my favorite. I also tried the Hint, Super Shine and Gathering Red Currants. Grimm is a great hangout spot for anyone that loves beer. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I'm hoping to come back here soon to try more and maybe order some food while I'm at it. read more

Beers: they are sours so not your typical beer but they are done well. For your normal beer fans, they have a few regular beers Atmosphere: they don't seem to have AC so it can get hot. The crowd is bushwicky but if it bothers you so much then don't come out here. Stay in Murray hill. Price: the prices are decent. 8 dollars a 14 ounce poor. There are a lot of craft breweries in this part of Brooklyn, and this one might be the best! They have a great rotation of beers, which tend towards sours and dry hopped IPAs, and a few other surprises (stouts!) The taproom is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful. You can ask for samples of anything and they do small pours, too, so you can taste anything. Try to come during the week because it does get very busy on weekends. read more

What can I say, the space is beautiful, the staff is welcoming and warm and knowledgeable.. The beers are delicious, the addition of the healthy Mediterranean Food offerings are a wonderful pairing with the Grimm Beers.. I am so impressed.. Often times a tap room can feel too industrial, or feel too much like a men's locker room. This is a chill spot with a subtle elegance.. I love the open windows and how bright and airy, with all the greenery around. It's more like walking into a friends home than it is, an industrial space. Come here, Bravo! read more

Very cool brewery! Stopped by on a Saturday for a couple of beers and was happy wit my choice. I purchased two stouts that were pretty strong, but delightful to drink. Seems to me that their specialty is crafting sour beers, which I am not a fan of, but the wide variety of beers that they produce leaves even the pickiest drinkers with options. The reason why this place loses a star in my review is because of seating. I came with a few friends on a busy Saturday afternoon and we couldn't find a seat the whole time we were there. They have a very large space that could fit a few more tables and seats. I would suggest they do that if the brewery gains popularity in the coming months. read more

I liked their hazelnut banana cacao stout. I am pretty inexperienced with alcohol, and got the apricot boysenberry beer when I asked a bartender for a suggestion of a unique (to this brewery), fruity beer with an adventurous taste. This was too tart for me, but it did at least fit the description of what I wanted. Maybe next time I need to say not too sour. Pandemic 2020 review. Don't let the name fool you, this is a dope brewery. I came here for the first time on Saturday, with my face mask and an empty growler. The service was friendly and fast, a few people lined up outside 6 feet or so apart. I ordered a 4 pack of sour beer, which was very crisp, tart and drinkable. They also filled my growler with some citra triple IPA. The guy behind the taps took extra time to fill my jug up to the rim, with no foam. The IPA was strong 10%, and had a powerful taste but was still pleasant to drink and very fresh.The guy who took my order said he can't wait till we can come back and enjoy a beer at the bar when the social distancing guidelines are relaxed. That will be great, but until then I will come and stock the fridge with to go orders. They have a serious selection of beers both in tap and in cans. My only regret is that I didn't have enough time to thoroughly go over the beer list before making my order, but a line was forming outside and I didn't want to take up too much time and space in the small ordering area. read more
