We tried this place on 3 separate occasions just to make absolutely sure in our assessment. At initial glance, specially looking at the menu, you would think this is a pretty trendy place with gourmet/fresh food. NOT the case! Pretty sure EVERYTHING processed and previously frozen. This could be an AMAZING spot if they got a real chef, but until that time you might as well save some money and just microwave yourself a tv dinner, as that's the quality you'd be getting anyways. OMG, this spot is AMAZING and the food is DELICIOUS. I'm willing to take a drive with the hubs just to eat there again. I was on a girls trip and we only do appetizers and every appetizer we ate was just so good. The drinks are delicious also. Because it was a weekend there was about a 30 minute wait before we were seated but you are able to grab a drink at the bar if you'd like. The restaurant has inside and outside seating and they have live music. The atmosphere was just so good. The service was great also, out waitress was very attentive. read more

Grind Gastropub is such a fantastic restaurant!!!! We have been here a couple times now and so far every time has been a hit! The atmosphere is very steam punk with Edison bulbs all around inside Grind. If that's not your thing than take a few steps to the back to Kona the Tiki Bar which has live music and tiki theming all around! We got the bison burgers which were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. My wife got a beer from their giant craft been menu and I got a mixed drink from their specialty menu. The only complaint I will say was my mixed drink was straight up alcohol and I know I shouldn't complain but it was very strong. Definitely recommend coming here and giving them a try!!!!! read more

I loved the vibes here, brought me back to when I lived in Hawaii and would go to the tiki bar. I actually only stayed outside in the back so I can only give my opinion on that. Inside seemed a little grungy when I walked through. We came on a Saturday night and it was very busy but we were seated right away. Service did take a long time just to order a drink and cash out but our server was nice. We were not in a rush so it didn't bother us much. They had a live band that sang some old country songs I've never heard of. But my husband did so that was good enough. We will be back if we are back in the area. read more

We had a really nice friday night meal here. They had a live band which was a lot of fun, but unfortunately, we were sat right next to the speakers which was kind of a lot for dinner. Definitely an enjoyable time but we couldn't talk to each other at all it was so loud. We had okay service. The food and drinks were good and I really enjoy the outdoor area in general. This place was SO cool. It looks totally unbecoming from the outside but has an amazing patio that's a full on tiki bar in the back. The weather was amazing when we came here. I ordered the steak salad and a side of sweet potato fries and my boyfriend had the tacos. The steak salad was incredible. The steak was some of the most tender steak I've ever had! I really loved the sweet potato fries as well. Prices were fair, service was friendly and fast. It looked like the drink menu was pretty extensive, so would definitely like to try some of those in the future! read more

Wanted to love this place but.... maybe if we were outside with the live band, but inside couldn't make up for the mediocre food and barely decent service. Don't order the black bean hummus--no flavor. Had the chicken lettuce wraps--okay. The rest of our party thought fish tacos and chicken were fine. Also had the fried portobello app-- first one came out fried to blackened. Second one much better. Heading out to the deck for live music and an attitude adjustment. You would never expect the huge outdoor patio walking into this gastropub, but man is it wow! The huge beautiful murals surrounding the space and the huge open floor. Great space for a band to play. Daytona trip! Mornings at the beach...sunday afternoon food and drinks. Atmosphere wonderful, wait staff friendly and bartender made great drinks. People 6 feet away..ordered a pizza that looked amazing. Steak bites perfectly cooked and seasoned. Teriyaki Pork wings..crispy and delicious! Lobster grill cheese was full of lobster, nice sourdough bread, perfect cheese. Cool names on the drink menu and bartender was good but not very talkative. We live in Orlando, but travel to Daytona and Amelia Island a lot, and we always make sure to stop by on our way and back to wherever we're going! I swear by the lamb pizza. It is amazing and honestly worth the 2 hour drive. This time I also tried their lobster grilled cheese with sweet potato fries, and I'm glad I did! The amount of lobster was nice! You always worry when you order something with lobster that they'll skimp on the portion (understandable, lobster is $$$), but I was super happy with the sandwich! And their sweet potato fries are delicious as well! I've ordered several of their specialty cocktails during visits and I've never had a bad drink, and service has always been great as well. I've only been here for Brunch. It is buffet style -- comparable to continental breakfast at a hotel: cold, not fresh, or too tasty. Mimosas are bottomless, if the service doesn't take too long.. meaning make sure you make it at a reasonable time before brunch is over (at least a hour before) so your server doesn't claim that you can't do bottomless anymore. Overall, the atmosphere is nice, especially outside, but the brunch quality just doesn't match. read more

The Grind remains one of my favorite local places, one that I've been revisiting time and again for many years. I actually met my husband here, six years ago. The food is always reliably good and I've never had a bad cocktail. I do love the steak tips and the coconut shrimp appetizers. Love their pizzas, and their gluten-free crust is quite good. Last night we had the Poké bowl and the citrus salmon. Outstanding! I've done brunch here a few times too. The bloody Mary bar is probably the best in town. This place is always very popular and always really crowded so space can be at a premium and it gets noisy. But we always come back and always have a good time. read more

Wow! I just might have to move to Ormond Beach! Driving through I started to fall in love with this town; after eating at Grind, I am head over heels. We started off with drinks tonight. They have $5 Moscow Mule's on Fridays. That was the first win. Then we ordered some food. My friend and I split the poke nachos, my other friend has a funky chicken, my other friend at the Kokomo sliders. All the food was absolutely amazing. The table got real quiet as we devoured all those delectable bites. The service was friendly and welcoming. Also the moonshine drinks are perfect. As we entered we were told there's a really cool place outback called the Kona sticky lounge. It was cold so we decided to sit inside but will definitely be back on a warmer day. Come try this place out if you're ever in the area! Definitely a five-star experience. read more

This restaurant may not be on the water, but it's still a very cool, relaxed place to hang. Have a lot of beer offerings but unfortunately most of them aren't can or bottle; The draft offerings are very lean with local craft options. I have the Kokomo sliders, which are pork sliders with Asian slaw and they were delish. These sliders come with a side of Hawaiian macaroni salad (Yum!) and it did not disappoint. I also ordered an extra side of black beans & rice which was solid. As you can see from the menu pictures most everything looks fantastic and has its own unique's spin on some traditional dishes. We decided to try this place after viewing the delicious menu and the gluten free options that my girlfriend requires. First when we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a sign instead of a person that told us to sit down where we like, in my personal experience this never bodes well because the restaurant tends to forget about you! And that is what happened we were never acknowledged or even told someone would be right with you, nothing! There were multiple server and bartenders and we were finally tired of waiting and went elsewhere! If management sees this please know that if you don't want to have a host show guests to their table then please have them be aware of when guests sit! Please do better!!! read more

I've been going to the Grind for years, but never felt confident to write a review. Food is consistent and the atmosphere is great. There's the inside gastropub feel that often hosts karaoke or the outside tiki area has loud bands and a party feel. There's even a separate banquet/party room that we've used multiple times and holds their famous Sunday brunch. Our go to dinner is the "Johnny be Gouda" Thai pizza that has an amazing peanut butter sauce base and toppings. You've gotta try it to understand. Don't go here looking for crazy drink specials or super fast service - but if you want to celebrate with friends and feel like you're on vacation for a few hours, check it out. The fancier "Havana style" 31 restaurant next door or the chill "Ormond garage brewery" across the street all share the same owner and have ample parking or complimentary valet. read more

The Grind has a very casual , social atmosphere, but , be warned : it is VERY loud . There is loud music of various types being played also . Doesn't bother me, but it might bother some, so I mentioned it . Staff was friendly and attentive . Service was quick . The bartender informed me that there were five dollar Mojitos available, which I gladly took advantage of. This was on a Sunday night. The names of all the dinners are the names of songs, which I thought was interesting. Dinner, drinks, and dessert were all delicious! My only complaint is that there is very limited parking. Overall, this is an excellent place. My total meal cost $50.16. I would definitely come again and recommend it to anyone. read more

Apparently, don't come on a weekend when the brunch buffet ends and the regular menu starts. Since I didn't even see the buffet, I figured everything is probably picked over and not refilled. We were seated outside and waited....and waited until I had to flag down a server to possible take our order; not a good start. Eventually- the food arrived and it was pretty good. Ordered the lamb burger and it was super flavorful; a little overcooked, but still juicy. Also got the macaroni salad as my side and it was a pretty good Hawaiian rendition. This is the second time we have come here for some special occasion. This was for my birthday and we had a pretty big group that they accommodated very easily. We were seated quickly and the waitress was there, ready to take orders. We got our drinks and she was ready for our food orders. The menu is full of wonderful selections. Fish, burgers, tacos, sangwiches, comfort foods, salads. I bit of everything. Our orders consisted of grouper, salmon, burgers, steak, tuna and a few other meals. Everybody's dinner was really good. Surprisingly, no one had a bad experience. The music was perfect. We sent up some requests and they were happy to play them. The whole night was allot of fun. My whole group had a really good time. They dances, sang and ate good food. I could not ask for a better birthday party or a place to hang out with friends or family. This is also a great place to meet new friends. I LOVE this place! I have been here for lunch, dinner, and family private parties, and it never disappoints. I especially enjoy eating outside at the Tiki Bar and enjoying the wonderful weather. The staff has always been super accommodating and helpful if we ever had an issue. They have a really cool drink menu with unique drink names. The decor inside and out really creates a chill vibe. The food is also delicious! My favorite thing to order is the burger with a fried egg and bacon on top. It's mouth watering and so flavorful. The fries are also to die for. My family has ordered a variety of the menu items during our visits, and everyone has always been satisfied. Super cool place for any occasion, and they can definitely accommodate big parties.
