It's hard for a re-heated slice to really stand out though. They have a gorgeous brand new pizza oven and pizza menu btw. My Italian Combo was just like I remembered. Fresh cut ham and salami. Lots of veggie toppings like lettuce, tomato and hot peppers. Mayo. Salt and pepper. Oil and vinegar. Fresh bread. Very Good stuff. MGG is back! About a year ago, I first ran across the term "ghost kitchen". They're basically a restaurant…read morewithout a waitstaff or dining space. Their niche is selling online food orders for delivery (think Grubhub, UberEats, DoorDash) or customer pickup. Their popularity steamrolled during COVID and seems to be a permanent part of the restaurant discussion going forward. There's a ghost kitchen running out of the Avon, CT Bertucci's (MrBeast Burger) and tonight I ordered takeout from Paul & Vinnie's -a ghost kitchen running out of the back of Carbone's Kitchen in Bloomfield. They sell pizza, grinders, salads, and a few desserts. I called in an order for a large ($14) "Francesca's Eggplant Grinder", advertised as "my Sicilian grandmother's eggplant, marinara, ricotta, Mootz, romano, and roasted red peppers". It was stellar !! Super tender and thin eggplant cutlets piled high on pillowy bread, plus all that cheese and sauce and goodness. We also went for a large ($23) Smop Pizza (Sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, Mootz, tomato sauce). The pizza was equally excellent- thin New Haven style crust, absolutely loaded with vegetables and very tasty sausage crumbles. Here's how the process worked -I called in my order and they took my credit card over the phone. I drove over, called them from the parking lot and out came the food. Simple as that. Bottom line is this, for $40 we bought a big and excellent eggplant grinder and a big and excellent pizza. We split half the grinder and had a slice apiece tonight. There are easily two more dinners for two in the fridge right now. So, six servings of delicious food for $40 works out to under $7 a meal. Good value plus good food equals a combination we are likely to repeat very soon.

Opted for the sausage egg and cheese on their signature bread. The inside is decorated sparsely. Space is small but not crowded. The guy at the counter had some difficulty with the register, mentioning that they use a different pos system from creamy rolls. Implying either he was the owner or was in the employ of the creamy rolls location. The sandwich itself was okay. Good crispy grilled bread, egg was cooked, sausage was nuked, cheese was melted American. Nothing about the sandwich was exciting or amazing, it was basic but functional. Price wise is reasonable for the portion. The biggest issue is location. There's 3-4 solid breakfast spots in that stretch of road alone, and 7-8 within a short drive. To compete, you need to offer something either as good as, better than, or different enough to drive home the sales. It's functional but is kinda lacking in any unique offerings. My recommendations would be to add some imagery of a pan sobao outside so those who don't know what it is can figure it out at a glance on the street. From my google searching, looks like it's usually served on its own with a strong cup of cafe con leche. Make that a combo on the menu. Make sure to display your breads by the counter once business starts to pick up, always offer to warm up breads before serving, and maybe consider branching out to arepas or pan de Mallorca to capture more of the market. As of right now, it's good but isn't unique and doesn't quite shine enough to overthrow the other breakfast spots. If you want a deli sandwich, they make a good bread. But there's still some tweaks to be made

I can say that anything here is a must have (though the cheesesteak is pretty good as well as any of the fresh egg sandwiches) but this is one of those "they do it all" sandwich places / convenience stores. I tend to come back for the chicken parm sandwich or chicken Caesar salad. They don't charge extra for toppings and are pretty generous with them. Service is quick and the people who work here are first rate. They deserve your business.
