I tried Sugarfire tonight and it was enjoyable!…read more Ordering was super easy and the young man behind the counter taking our order smiled, was very friendly. Everyone behind the counter smiled at my father and I, which was so welcoming! The man that took our payment was also friendly. I ordered the turkey plate with baked beans and French fries. My father ordered the brisket, baked beans and asked for unsalted fries. He raved about his brisket being tender and the fries actually tasting like potato. We absolutely dislike salt so we appreciated the unsalted fries. I don't normally order baked beans but didn't want any other sides listed on the menu -- beans did not disappoint! So flavorful and not overly sweet. Super yum! I agree the fries are very good. And the turkey, so tender. I think the only thing is that I am not used to eating room temperature meat. The first bite was warm and then the rest of the turkey was not, losing a little flavor. But honestly, the BBQ sauces are excellent & still worth it. :) I would definitely recommend the root beer! It's like that old school, make ya hiccup kinda flavor -- it's stronger than any root beer I've ever had. It's amazing! Even my dad loved it. I just don't think they make root beer like that anymore. I'm impressed! Overall, the place was clean and the staff were actually cleaning all around us as there weren't many patrons present. The music isn't blaring, which I really like. It's a must chiller ambiance than I thought it would be and I do love the whole counter ordering, set yourself concept. The art on the wall is cool too! Overall, I'd recommend Sugarfire. And I will definitely go back and try more menu items, even the turkey again. Friendly staff, tasty food & drinks, chill atmosphere & very clean. Well done, Sugarfire. Cheers to you & your wonderful staff! Thank you so much.

Much better this time! So glad I didn't see my other review before stopping. I had the Carolina…read moresandwich which was a perfect combination of pulled pork, slaw, and Carolina BBQ sauce. The side of buffalo cauliflower was tasty and, hopefully, a little healthier than most of their sides. Service was fine, as counter service goes. And the ambience was normal for a place like this.

I took my three daughters here on Memorial Day weekend. They all had cheeseburgers, I had a plate…read morewith ribs, brisket and pulled pork. They got fries and Mac and cheese. The pulled pork is some of the best I have ever eaten and the Mac and cheese was delicious. The burgers are exactly what you should expect from a good BBQ joint. The line to order was different than my kids were used to and we could have done a better job. Luckily it wasn't crowded and the customer service was extremely friendly.

I really like the layout of this restaurant. You get in line, order your food, get a tray, pay, get…read moreyour drink and utensils, and then park yourself at a table. Anything that tastes a little bit more time to prepare they will bring out to you on the floor. Keeps things flowing very well. I got the four bones (baby backs), broccoli salad (premium side, one dollar up charge), and coleslaw. I also grabbed a piece of sweet cornbread with honey butter, and fried green tomatoes with a lemon aïoli. The bones were not rendered as much as I would've liked, the fat layers were still too thick. But the flavor was good. And every table has six different sauces and you can have as much sauce as you want. I tried them all, and my personal favorites were the Carolina mustard, and the Texas hot sauce. The white barbecue was also very interesting. But they're all good. Fried green tomatoes were terrific! Broccoli salad and the coleslaw were pretty tasteless. As was the cornbread. Really wouldn't describe that as sweet cornbread. It seemed a mostly just wheat flour cornbread. The honey butter on its own was really the best side. I'm not unhappy that I came here, but would I seek it out again or try something else in the area? I would try something else in the area. And for that reason I am leaning toward 3 starts. Although the staff is terrific and really hustles here, and that is why I have to bump this up to four stars.

This little dive is very easy to miss and is certainly not a place that would grab your attention…read morewhen you drive by. My wife and I have driven past the place 100 times and she finally talked me into trying it out for lunch. WOW. Awesome food. We both had ribs, I went for a double order of spaghetti as my side, the wife went with green beans and yams. The portions were large and came with a cornbread muffin. Ribs were fall off the bone tender and the spaghetti was very good. I am normally not a green bean fan, but I tasted the ones my wife ordered and they were delicious! It looked like small pieces of potato and I don't know what else in them. I never eat yams but these were great. Too sweet for my taste as a side, but I had them for "dessert" after finishing my meal. Tasted more like sweet potato pie than anything and dipping the cornbread muffin in the sauce was sinfully good. EVERYTHING was home made from scratch. We were way too full to try any of the desserts (cakes, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie) but I will sample them next trip. The menu is not large but be sure to ask as there are several items available not listed. I was craving some fried chicken, which I was told was available, but I'd already ordered the ribs. I'm going for the chicken next visit....collard greens were an option (not listed) as well but I am not a fan. My ONLY con would be no butter for the muffin..but it was moist without it and after I figured out how good it tasted dipped in the yam sauce, I would not have used it had it been there !We were totally stuffed for less than $20. We are already planning to head back next week. Give this place a try...you won't regret it!!!
