Smelled great walking in and was very full. The employees were also in great spirits and they have a good vibe going. Now the meats. Pulled pork was very good and definitely my favorite very juicy. The turkey was a tad bit dry but had great flavor. The brisket also on the dryer end as well. The ribs disappointed me the most. Extremely dry. Now the sauces are amazing so it definitely made up for the dryness and still made it enjoyable. One was called honey something can't remember the full name but that one is GREAT. Mac and cheese and potato salad both did their job but no wow factor. I did come in at around 8pm! So it could be that everything was just sitting a bit too long and that would be on me. I'd give it another try though.

Come on now St. Louis y'all are known for pretty good BBQ. My friend and I stopped here because I was hangry and we had BBQ on the mind. I get on Yelp and for the area this had the best reviews for BBQ so we went for it. We arrive and there is a pig statue outside the restaurant with the different cuts of the pig. We get inside the restaurant and it's smells so good. The have to separate doors to enter on one being only for take out and dine in and the other door for online and phone orders. We wanted our food to go since the restaurant was busy, and all the tables were packed. Remember I said, the restaurant was packed and busy. The menu is pretty extensive and everything sounded amazingly delicious! I went with the 3 meat plate with 2 sides and you cannot double on any meats, but I wasn't complaining for $24.99 plus tax. I went with rib comes with 4 ribs, sausage link that was Jalepeno cheese and brisket, my two sides were Mac & cheese and Turkey soup and I ordered one extra side of baked beans. I ate my side first the Turkey soup first it was soup it was a bit spicy, yet flavorful clocked full and turkey and veggies. I would definitely order this again. The baked beans were really good, I've had better I felt it was lacking some of the bbq baked bean flavor though, however I would also order this again. The Mac & Cheese oooooweee! That's a whole other story. It definitely wasn't made from scratch and tasted like box velveeta mac and cheese it wasn't good at all and went straight in the trash. I do not recommend this side. The ribs dang, I had high expectations on the ribs they weren't dry, but they ever definitely boiled and baked and they have absolutely not a single sprinkle of seasoning on it. The brisket no lie it was so dry I almost choked on it that took has no flavor just over cooked. The sausage links were mid at best and needed to be cooked longer so the skin would have a snap to it when you bite. I don't know how this place is busy expect they use the fact they were on a cooking show competition. That's the only way I can see why they are busy because the food ain't it and I hate wasting money. Most of my food went straight in the trash.

Service was excellent and friendly, however, I was greatly disappointed with the quality and flavor of the BBQ. I ordered the three meat platter and ordered ribs, brisket, and pulled pork along with fried okra and beans. I barely ate any of the tray. The one bright spot was the chocolate shake which was delicious! Otherwise, I'd definitely choose a different spot.

Casual Smok-haus a block from the conference center. We stood on line and walked past the meat counter, the sides, the desserts and then the cash register your beer. We were given samples of the juicy sweet turkey as we passed by. Mike Johnson the chef and owner was trained with Emerald Legacy in New Orleans Orleans. He worked in commodores Palace with the $.25 martini lunch. Mike incorporated the $.25 with weekday beer specials between 2:00 and 5:00. We shared the 4 St Louis rib special. Our ribs were put on a metal tray with a piece of butcher paper. Assorted sauces and rolls of paper towel towels were on the table. I thought the ribs were a little fatty and the meat didn't fall off the bones. They were good! Before 5 o'clock we enjoyed the $.25 draft saucy hour. We needed to remind the cashier to adjust the price.

Oh my!! St. Louis BBQ!! And, Uncle Eddie!!! He put his foot in that Banana Pudding and sweet potatoes!! Staff are friendly and answered me asking lots of questions. Very friendly people in the restaurant as well.

Brisket was good. The burnt ends looked dry and overcooked. The potato salad and baked beans were awful. If in the area, try the brisket. The gentlemen serving the food/cutting the meat were all very nice.

Food was amazing. Went with my neese my uncle and my aunt. The service was amazing. Ambiance was great.

My partner and I came here for some afternoon food after visiting the National Blues Museum, since it was right next door conveniently. Items were hit or miss depending on which item one would order, which I would like to elaborate below. Before I do so, I will say that service was great, as everyone at the counter was attentive to our needs. That was a plus. One comment my partner made was that the smoked salmon sandwich contained some of the best smoked salmon that they had ever eaten, and after tasting some, I could definitely see why. The salmon had soft texture inside while maintaining a potent and not overpowering smoky flavor. I also enjoyed the brisket, which wasn't juicy enough but was seasoned very well. It was also soft enough to allow a smooth culinary experience. I would recommend it to anyone visiting this spot without a doubt. The fried okra seemed to have used cornmeal instead of flour, which gave the okra bits harder and crispier texture while retaining the slimy inside. Both my partner and I enjoyed it as a result. A few constructive opinions we had of the items are as follows: The s'mores pudding contained marshmallow bits that were definitely soaked for way too long, making them lose even the slightest bit of their own flavor and texture, so the whole thing just tasted like chocolate pudding and it didn't seem like the marshmallow made any difference. The mac and cheese relied on cheese for flavor but wasn't seasoned enough, so it tasted a bit plain outside the obvious cheese flavor. Finally, the baby back ribs were so undercooked that the ribs wouldn't separate themselves from another on the rack. The seasoned outer skin was really nice, and the meat that was closer to the bone tasted good, but the more I reached to the meat away from the bone, the harder the meat was to pull from the rack and the redder it became. Unfortunately I didn't even end up finishing the ribs as a result. So yeah, as mentioned above, my experience made me determine that one would need to choose the right item to have a great meal. I wouldn't also be surprised that the ribs I had just happened to be a bad rack. Regardless, I am still rating this establishment a 4 because the highlights were amazing, balancing out the areas of improvement.

Nice place with a rustic BBQ vibe. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had the 3 meat combo and ate every scrap. I will say that they live up to the name as almost everything was a touch on the sweet side. Not exclusively but not my fave. Definitely personal taste. That said, this is solid BBQ. Tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. Definitely worth a try.

This one is a short walk from any hotel in the Downtown St. Louis area, near the Convention Center. When I arrived, I realized the hours on the door said 11am 'til SOLD OUT. It was 7:00-was I cutting it close??? The line in front of me was short, but the tables were moderately filled and it looked like they had plenty of food. Then, when the party ahead of me went up to order, the guy behind the counter told one of them to pull the tray paper sign with "Burnt Ends Nachos" on it off the wall. They were definitely starting to run out! By the time I ordered my meal and found a community table to sit at, the line was twice as long as it had been when I got there. I must have had impeccable timing. They have signs telling you that you cannot find a place to sit until your entire party has ordered and paid for their food, and let me tell you my friends, they stand on business about that. I saw one customer try to shirk that requirement only to have the busser tell her she couldn't sit yet and pointed to the sign. I appreciate that, if they have a rule like that, they stick to it. I ordered a Combo Plate with brisket and pulled pork, and for my sides asked for French fries and the creamy grits, which were a premium side and had an extra $1 charge. There are table sauces on each table, so I tried each of them with both meats and found them to be remarkably similar or just okay. Overall, I kept alternating between the Coffee Barbecue, because it was the one with the most unique flavor, and the Texas Hot, because it was the only one that really had kick to me. The others were okay, but nothing to write home about. The meat was good, relatively fatty, and the sides were decent, though I liked the grits more than the fries. The meal also came with a small drink, of which they served a local soda brand. I've seen it in other places downtown as well. By the time I was ready to leave, they were poppin', and parties were sharing long tables with each other. It was loud, but boisterous. The busser did a great job of clearing plates quickly so everyone who wanted to sit, could. It was a pleasant and quick experience for someone visiting for a conference.

This place did surprise me on how relatively fast they serve considering how many people pass through. But I guess that why so many people come here. The atmosphere has the feel of a smokehouse. No napkins but a roll of towel paper. Sauces tend to be on a sweeter side than smoky. I got the salmon sandwich. Which looked plain was full of flavor. Though it did need a sauce, which I put thr Stl sauce. Fries looked over fried, but not necessarily, and tasted so good with thr coarse sea salt

While visiting St. Louis for the first time, we had to get our share of trying some St. Louis style BBQ. Sugarfire Smoke House was one of our stops during our trip and it did not disappoint. I would be bold enough to say they were my favorite BBQ spot of the whole trip. The service was efficient and the food, as noted, was delicious. We were a party of four and came in at the height of dinner time. Despite the busyness, they moved through the line quickly and our orders came out in a reasonable amount of time and accurately. My order consisted of the Meat Daddy for which I upgraded my sides to the zucchini fries and au gratin potatoes. The meats were superb. 'Falling-off-the-bone' tender and flavorful. The sauces to complement the meat worked perfectly. There wasn't a protein on the platter I didn't enjoy, but the ribs and brisket stole the show for me. The premium sides were also great. Worth the small upgrade charge. I especially liked the au gratin potatoes. They were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of cheese! They worked well with the proteins from the Meat Daddy. Loved it all and the portions were generous. I would highly recommend adding Sugarfire Smoke House to your food stops while in St. Louis. My only regret is not making it back one more time before we left to try more off of their menu.

Did not expect such good barbecue to be right next to the convention center, they get busy as heck with convention center crowds, and they do run out of things alarmingly quickly. However service is good, the vibe is appropriately themed, and they apparently did a heck of a job selling the turkey to the customers in front of me. I wasn't quite as impressed, but it was still good. They were unfortunately out of the pork ribs, but the brisket was good, and the burnt ends... ... Not universally good, about half the bits were a bit dry, but the half that weren't, damn they were good. Would come back again for those. The sides were solid, too. And the soda collection is impressive.

It allows people to gather eat a sweet treat and have general conversation conversations where you can actually hear one another. They do have outside seating too. The chocolate cake was soft and as a non-cake lover I found this very delicious. Definitely worthy of sharing. I ordered a quiche to go. I had mentioned they didn't have the spinach feta pastry that I had before. The gentleman stated we have some in the back, I'm happy to get you one. So I ordered that too. We started with the Korean fried cauliflower and it was honestly some of the best I've ever had. The batter was light, fluffy, and crispy, and the gochujang sauce with the mayo was sweet and sticky in the best way. Since it's a butchery, we had to try the steaks. I ordered the 4oz filet Oscar style. The meat was tender and very well seasoned, the crab was fresh, and the homemade hollandaise really pulled it all together. My husband had the ribeye. It was a flavorful cut, a little fatty (as ribeye tends to be), but exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The steaks come with a twice-baked potato and vegetable (or you can swap for different vegetables). The potato was flavorful but fairly dense. We also did the bread service - it was good, but felt a bit pricey for the portion. We ended with the flourless chocolate torte, which was very rich and the perfect way to finish the meal - especially on Valentine's Day. Overall, the food was good and the menu is solid. The quality was there, but the portions, bread service and sides didn't fully meet expectations. That said, it was still a lovely experience and a great date-night spot.
