Another great BB.Q Chicken in a mom & pop setting. Once you walk in you can smell the cooking. There's even a bit of smoke in the air. It's not super big. So, if you have a large group, call ahead to reserve a table. Recommend the Gangnam Style wings. It's simply delicious . It's soy sauce base, slightly sweet and tangy, and somewhat spicy. We are regular BBQ chicken fans and love the variety of sauces they offer. They truly fry their chicken to perfection. Our go-to order is the spicy chicken sandwich (gotta put the slaw on top!) and the cheesling and buldak boneless wings. The food is delicious and clearly made fresh. Okay so I ate here twice , first time was dining in and the second time was a pick up. It's smoky from all the fried chicken inside but not nothing to complain about , not too big, not too small on the inside. . Now the food. First off, I absolutely love Korean Fried Chicken. It's what I look for when I travel. I've eaten at a different franchise and had high hopes. The ambiance and customer service were good. The staff were friendly and attentive. I appreciate the smile and positive energy. I'm not much of a fried food person, so if I find a good spot I'm there. The chicken was crisp and flaky the way I like. Not much for the flavors and or spice just give me plain. This is where it fell short. Not much flavor in comparison to what I'm use to. It was also slightly over fried where it had the dark spots on the chicken. The French fries were just fries, no salt. Flavor matters people. If I'm paying $20 for a meal, it should be better or close to what I'd make at home. Although I was a bit disappointed, I'd give them another try. read more

Warning: Long but honest review I was first introduced to bb.q Chicken a few years ago in a different city, and it quickly became one of my favorite fried chicken spots -- both where I lived and when I traveled. Unfortunately, this particular location has consistently been my worst experience, both service and food-wise -- and that's saying a lot considering how much I enjoy bb.q Chicken overall. To be clear, this doesn't reflect the young women who've served me at the counter; they've always been pleasant. My issue is with the management and how this location operates. My first few visits here, the chicken was under-fried -- barely crispy and not quite cooked to the doneness I've had at other locations. I didn't complain, just made a note to start calling after placing my order online to request "well done." The challenge is that their online ordering system doesn't allow special requests, though they encourage you to call in if you have any. That worked once. Fast forward to today -- I placed an online order and tried calling several times to make my usual request. The line was busy for over 15 minutes, even when I tried from another phone. When I arrived, I mentioned this to the staff, and the young woman told me the manager had taken the phone off the hook because they were busy. I understood they had a large party, but I was still surprised. My order was sitting behind the counter, not even bagged yet. I asked if they could drop the wings back in the fryer for just a few minutes to make them well done, especially since I wasn't able to call in due to their phone being intentionally disconnected. She kindly checked with the manager, but they said no -- that they "don't take food back into the kitchen once it's prepared," even though the food hadn't yet left the counter. I asked if they could remake the order instead. Again, management said no. I ended up taking the food as is, but I did ask if they could please share with the owner that if they plan to keep the phone off the hook while still accepting online orders, they should at least enable the notes/request option online. This will likely be my last visit to this location -- not out of spite, but on principle. Accessibility matters. What if a customer had a food allergy and couldn't communicate that? I personally live with food allergies, so being able to relay even a small request isn't a luxury -- it's a necessity. To me, it's simply greedy and inconsiderate to take customers' money without providing a basic level of accessibility and care. I can't support a business that operates that way. read more

The space is kind of a dive vibe. They offer table service or carry out. My server was very nice and helpful with the menu. I went with the lunch special of chicken and fries. For my first time having Korean Fried Chicken I don't think I could ask for better. The service was incredible, she talked us through all of the options with great patience for my newbie soul. We were sat immediately, and the bright dining room was small but clean. There are colorful posters lining the walls, which but me to try the peach soju. I didn't know what I was getting into but now I'm a fan! The food came out fast and hot. We got the half and half to share with half golden chicken, half secret spicy chicken. My husband also got a teriyaki Mayo bowl that he only fared one bite of for me. For a picky guy that's a 10 out of 10. The chicken was hot and juicy, with a crispy coating that was out of this world. It came with the pickled radishes that I fell in love with and took extra home! There were many people coming in for takeaway, and after trying my leftovers today I can see why. Living in STL for 9 months, I haven't found any good KFC (Korean friend chicken) until bbq chicken! We got Galbi, secret sauce, soy garlic, and the original crispy flavors. My personal favorite was the secret sauce because it was a good balance of sweet and tangy. The tteokbokki was a good flavor but a little too chewy/hard rather than fluffy. I used to come here a lot since they had really good Bingsu and Korean fried chicken even though it's really far away from me. After they took Bingsu off their menu, and several unpleasant occasions with their food quality, I didn't come often anymore. I recently ordered online to pick up when I was in the area. I placed an order for boneless soy garlic, and I found out they gave me a bone in a few minutes after I left the restaurant. So I called to let them know I got a wrong order, and wanted to see if they could remake my order quickly so I wouldn't be late for my appointment or I could swing by after my appointment. The lady on the phone was kinda rude saying I had to bring my order back for them immediately to check if it was wrong first.... Alright, I brought it back to let her "exam" the wings. She said it would be ready fast, but I ended up waiting 15 minutes or so for my boneless order. Unfortunately, the chicken tasted really off - I suspected it was fried in very old oil... We went to bb.q Chicken in O'Fallon (Illinois) on a Friday for lunch. The location is rather unassuming in a strip mall with plenty of parking. For a group of 7, we got large orders of spicy galbi boneless, honey garlic boneless, honey garlic wings, and medium cheeseling boneless. We also got a rose ddeok-bokki to share which was pleasantly chewy and creamy! The chicken and ddeok-bokki came out very quickly (we were the only people in the restaurant), and it was very juicy and crispy. The large boneless has 20pcs each, and the large bone-in is 18pc. For the most recent prices I would check their website, but it was $29.45 for a large bone-in and $26.45 for a large boneless when we went. After tax and tip, it ended up being ~$20/person. I would definitely recommend all of the flavors we tried-- the spicy galbi had a nice little kick to it but was not overwhelmingly spicy, and the honey garlic is always a fan-favorite with us. Cheeseling can be a bit unusual at first but if you like cheese powder you will enjoy this flavor too. We will definitely be back! Note: if you're going with a party of 8+, the restaurant prefers that you call beforehand to get a reservation. There's also a 10% discount for military as long as you have your ID :) read more

The first time that I went, it was nothing too special. I ordered the cheesy fries and was not a fan! This review is from the second visit in store. The pictures are the "Secret Sauce Boneless," "Spicy Original Bone-In," and the "Wings of Fire Bone-In." The appetizer pictured is the rose tbbeoki! My second time was much better, everything was sauced well. The other sauces that I have tried were the Soy Garlic, Honey Garlic, Gangnam. Thank goodness this place exists. My husband and I just got here from Atlanta, and if you didn't know, Atlanta is the mini southern KTown mecha. With that said, I was very worried I wouldn't have my favorite Korean fried chicken. We literally stumbled here while driving around. It is in a very unassuming strip mall. The restaurant is very tiny and warm the day we went in. When we walked to the counter, the guy recommended the Honey Garlic, and I love anything honey or garlicky, so I was in. My husband wanted to try the BB wings. And we also ordered the kimchi fried rice. We really did love the honey garlic. That is literally a 10/10. The bb wings are not bad, but I personally prefer a wet wing more than a dry wing. Flavor was great, and had a nice spice. My husband said he enjoyed the kimchi fried rice. Great Korean fried chicken that was super flavorful, crispy and juicy. Only hiccup was that we had placed our order ahead of time hoping we could it eat there but unfortunately there is a policy where orders over the phone have to be taken out.
