Nice, divey bar close to the airport and not very crowded. They maintained great social distancing, served yummy food, cheap bear, and they even had a band on the Friday evening we were there. The fries were really good, in particular. The servings were large. I left my to-go container after I left, and I was so mad at myself because that would have been a great lunch the next day. We were there with a baby in a stroller, and they were very accommodating to us. The corner booth was just perfect, as to avoid getting in the way of everyone else. We'll be back. read more

We stumbled across this restaurant/ bar and we enjoyed the food. The service however needs help. We came in from the parking lot in the rear of the bar. We were not greeted so we looked up front and saw no one. We just grabbed a booth ourselves. We were not greeted by anyone behind the bar either. We sat there for 15 minutes. So after a server passed us a couple times I grabbed her attention. She claimed since we were not seated by the hostess that she didn't notice us. What?! We ordered a beer and looked over the menu for food. We decided to try the hamburgers. When the food came out it looked delicious. However my burger came with american cheese on it. I told the waitress that I did not order cheese. She claimed that I did. I explained that is impossible because I can't stand american cheese. I also pointed out the menu says cheese is extra. Was she having a bad day or always this bad??! She claimed she thought I did and ordered another burger for me. But my wife was already finished with her meal when mine came out. Stopped up with some friends for a quick meal, heard some great things about their tap list pre covid. The taplist is pretty lengthy but doesn't have alot of styles on it, for your basic beer drinkers they will be happy with the pilsners and lagers. Alot of regulars in the building, food was quick and good. This place is more of a dive bar type, i remember when it was Scoundrels and was a total dive. They have a much better food selection but didn't really update anything on the inside. read more

Recently opened spot in the old Scoundrel's space and billed as more of a Gastropub than bar and grill, I brought a group of co-workers for our first visit during lunchtime. Our server was very pleasant and attentive to the group. Drink orders were prompt and kept filled throughout the meal. One of my colleagues and I decided to get two different burgers and split them so we could sample multiple styles / flavors. We settled on a simple bacon cheeseburger and the Grindstone burger)...one with fries and one with tots. Burgers were artfully presented, especially the grindstone with its mile-high onion straws (see my picture below). The basic bacon cheeseburger was just that...nothing fancy but cooked to a perfect medium temp. The Grindstone however was way better with a tangy BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and a mountain of onion straws. Great flavor combo! Their fries were hand cut style but more like shoestring in size (just okay). Their tots on the other hand were pure perfection...not greasy and a crispy crunch when bit into. Lastly, another colleague ordered a three cheese brick oven pizza and offered me a slice to try. It was flavorful and tangy with a slightly chewy crust. Decent prices for the quality of the food, pretty sure we'll be back. Soon. read more

We froze waiting for our food, which took forever. Extremely loud in there and I couldn't hear my friend even though it wasn't crowded. Kids selling raffle tickets for what we have no idea. Food was not hot. Waitress was friendly but barely came around. Not a pleasant experience. Won't be back. read more

The gluten free crust is NOT gluten free. It's literally cooked on a floured surface--so maybe don't advertise it as gluten free.

Their food is AMAZING here! I love their wedding soup and the salmon entree as well. Wings are always made perfectly, and service is great. They have comedy nights on Fridays that are fun to go to. read more

Just went to Grindstone on Monday night. The place doesn't look super appealing from the outside and is an interesting location. Once we got inside, the decor was fine. The service was also great. Our server couldn't have been more attentive to us. A few of the women at my table ordered hot tea and our server must have refilled their water 3 times at least. Monday nights are also burger/chicken sandwich nights and they were only $6. There was a small up charge with certain side items. I was feeling slightly under the weather so I only ordered a baked potato. It was pretty good. It has cracked salt and pepper on the outside. I'd definitely go back. read more

Typical America bar food. I had the grindstone burger and it would of been great if the vinegar/mustard sauce was not on it.

Ordered lunch from here today. And have mixed feelings.. First of all the mussels with chorizo were delicious. No complaints there. I would not recommend the shrimp potstickers. A tad pricey for what they are and the portion size, either way I threw them out. The part that really ticked me off was the burger. The bum was great, well toasted and flavorful. The veg (tomato, leaf lettuce, red onion) was applied liberally and very fresh. The bacon was good, and so was the cheddar. So what ruined it? Perhaps the most important part, the burger patty itself! It was not fresh made, and reminded me of one of those frozen pre-made patties you might find in a big box store. It was beyond bland and extremely dry, with a grainy texture. All of the pictures I have seen of the burgers online, in other reviews, etc. appear to be fresh made patties with what I can assume is a "quality" ground beef. I ended up having a couple of bites and threw the rest in the trash. I'm not sure why I got the short end of the stick here, but I do know that I won't be back for another "burger" here. read more

Went to the Grindstone Tap House today, had the black and blue burger, which was cooked to my liking Medium rare it was juicy, flavorful, the carmalized onions and mushrooms added additional flavor, the lettuce and the raw red onion added that crunch factor you were looking for. My wife had the Mediterranean pizza on a cauliflower crust, which came with , red sauce, kalamada olives, green peppers which usually she doesn't get, sun dried tomatoes, she exchanged that for mushrooms banana peppers and feta cheese and basil, she asked for extra basil on the side. She enjoyed her pizza very much. Before that we got to meet one of the owners Matt, who was gracious, asked how we heard bout the place, he offered us a sampling of their spring rolls with corn beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese served with Thousand Island and Pepper corn ranched dressings. We will definitely return for another visit to try the prime rib sandwich. The ambience is very sport bar,staff are very friendly and helpful. read more

Stropped in after going to the ix center. Does have a patio but it is winter. It is a bar with a very large menu of great choices. They had some food/drink specials. I had a atomic burger which was wonderful. My husband had a philly which he said was great and would come back for it again. The portion were large and the fries were excellent. The server was friendly and professional. They had a DJ with some kind of trivia going on which we did not stick around to do. Overall, this place was a tasty place to stop. Booked a reservation for a company reunion during the pandemic. The manager assured we could use the patio space, and the establishment held high standards for social distancing, as well as bartenders wearing masks and providing sanitizer. I hate the pandemic. It was so nice to be able to get together with friends in an environment that felt safe and clean. The bartender, Katie, was incredible! She was knowledgable, clean, and overall a warm and helpful bartender. The drinks and food were quick to arrive and delicious. Some of the best buff chicken dip I've ever had! I am ready for life to return to normal, and Grindstone is definitely a place I will consider and recommend for future get togethers! read more

It's s nice looking place and some of the bartenders are nice but it is impossible to get a drink when you are a female. (My opinion) I see it happen a lot, the bartenders are all ladies and the serve the men before the girls even though the girls were there first. I was tempted to ask a random guy to get one of the bartenders attention because of this. Also every time I go here the liquor is ALWAYS watered down. And I'm a light weight so normally a few drinks and I'm drunk but not here. After a few drinks of drinking what is basically water I just want to leave because I wasted my money. Food...excellent. I am so happy to have discovered a place in the area that has such a delicious modern brunch menu. Before today, my husband and I had always had a difficult time deciding on where to spend our Sunday Fundays. We always had to drive to Lakewood or Rocky River or Cleveland for a quality brunch....but no longer. We can now drive 5 minutes to Grindstone! I ordered the chicken and waffles. I was served 5 generously sized pieces of fried chicken tenderloins on a stick. The breading was crunchy and did not overwhelm the chicken. They lay atop 3 golden waffles. The meal came with a sriracha sauce that had nice heat, but a hint of sweet. I asked for a side a syrup- to satisfy my sweet tooth. I mostly enjoyed combing the waffle, chicken, sriracha, and syrup to make one flavorably complete bite. My husband ordered the porkbelly Benedict. My favorite part of that meal was the honey mustard bbq hollandaise sauce. We started with a bloody Mary and it was one of the better ones I have had in a while. But I really recommend the mango mimosas. Fresh mango pieces and a little mango vodka added. The best part about this brunch is that it's not just on Sundays! They have brunch on Saturdays too!
