When faced with poor quality food as an unsatisfied customer I expect a pretty reasonable response from management. Having the assistant manager erroneously tell the general manager that I "threatened to kick his ass" when I simply asked him to "vacate my general vicinity" after insincere unsolicited platitudes were thrown my way and then be threatened with having the cops come to remove me by force while I work to resolve the bill fairly and amicably is absolutely mind blowing to me. I have no issue paying for food and (1 each) drink that was consumed by the persons present, but the assault on my character telling me that I threatened bodily harm to an assistant manager is absolutely reprehensible. Repeatedly I attempted to appeal to the general manager making it crystal clear to him that those words I was claimed to have spoken were completely fabricated and that his assistant manager was lying to what end I do not know. In the end he made it clear that I was either to sign the bill that was placed in front of me or to be removed by the police. Not particularly wanting to be removed by the police I signed the bill under duress and peacefully left the establishment after seeking out and tipping my waiter with whom I had no grievance separately in cash. Suffice to say I will never return to this location. I'm quite sure they will not be broken up about it but I would make sure that should you have any issues with your food you record the conversation taking place because the manager claimed to have a video recording of me threatening the manager which is of course an absolute farce having chose my words carefully because I did not want an altercation only space while I worked the matter through in my own head. read more

We went in for a later lunch 1-2pm. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Establishment was very clean and staff was extremely friendly. We received our drinks and queso within 10 min of being sat. I will say our food did take a little bit but between that time our server kept our glasses full and made sure we had everything we needed. Our food was great! I ordered the Pacifico Shrimp that came with the lime butter, my husband ordered The Pollo Morisco, both equally great. I have been to several Gringo's in the past, including this one. I went on a Friday evening, so their busiest time, and it was alright. We only waited for about 45 minutes for a table and when we got a table it was a booth, which is what we had asked for. Then we ran into our first issue with the restaurant. This has always been an issue with Gringo's. We waited for over 20 minutes for our server to even come and acknowledge us. We sat there eating chips for 20 minutes before we could even order drinks or other appetizers. Once the waiter came over, he spoke so softly, it was hard to here him. Once we ordered it was only great things. The food came quick and was hot when it came out. The food also tasted wonderfully and the portions were perfect. After the food came, the waiter was very attentive to us and as soon as we looked like we needed anything he would come and help. With our order, we had the grilled bacon wrapped shrimp. This was fantastic and would definitely order it again. I ended up ordering the Three amigos plus Pepe, which is an enchilada dinner with all four types included. It was very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed the different flavors and how they all meshed perfectly. The only complaint I had about it is I would have put more cheese on the top. My wife ordered the fajitas and those came with extra cheese that I was able to put on my dish. Overall the food was excellent, the service needed some work but it was still good considering it was a busy Friday night, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Treated my mom to lunch for her birthday and it was a success! She ordered a seafood/chicken plate (forgot the name) and I ordered the Tampico chicken, it's my favorite. The food case out pretty quick even though they were packed. We ordered margaritas and they were okay, a bit on the sour side. Our food came out delicious and the perfect temperate. For dessert we had the churros which were a good end to a great lunch. The reason for 4 stars is that our waiter only checked on us twice. We had to look for him if we needed him and had to get another server to help us with things we needed like silverware and to remind our service of our drink orders because they didn't bring them almost until the food came out. read more

This was the first time I've been at this gringos since I moved to the area two weeks ago. Are used to live in the Clearlake/League City area and usually would go to the original one in Pearland. This one is very close to my new house I went there for my birthday lunch. The customer service was great I got the El Presidente play the food quality was good and so it was a presentation.
