Great first impression, Shawn the greater made me feel like I was extremely welcome. He showed me how to scan the menu into my phone and pleasantly explained how to follow the restaurant rules regarding the covid 19 pandemic precautions... Amazing and astounding was this young man!!!! Service was great. Manager checked on my table " Andre". This manager actually stayed on the restaurant floor!! He worked continuously as we could see him during our entire meal. Ashley was our server and she was extremely attentive! All in all it was the best visit to Gringos in Valley Ranch. This was a surprisingly wonderful place. I am shocked due to the fact that my previous visits were less than desirable!!!!! I actually like this place so having to write a bad review is a bit hard. Service has always been great here but this is the second visit we've had where a plate at our table had severely undercooked chicken (entire half of the piece was pink). Hopefully this doesn't become a reoccurring event because my family and I actually enjoy coming here. read more

We went with reservations for nine on a Friday evening... we were seated outside but plenty warm with the overhead heaters. I had the tortilla soup, and do not recommend it... the veggies were huge and had to have a knife to cut them up... broth was okay, my chicken enchiladas were okay , good taste but not enough sauce over them .. guacamole was very good and the chips also. Black beans were good and the rice. The trea lache cake fabulous...our server was very good also...may have a wait when you go. The wait was long. The food is overpriced Tex-Mex. The enchiladas were the worst. Nothing I tried was good, only the charro beans were ok.

Was craving Taco Tuesday during quarantine/stay at home so we orders for pick up from the limited menus they had available...food was ready quickly and they followed social distancing guidelines! Great food, great service. The hatch chili festival food is amazing. My server Lane was great at his job. Unfortunately when two bussers ended up dropping a dish by accident Brandon, one of the floor supervisors berated them publicly which was totally unnecessary. They need to send him to management training. I watched the reactions of the other customers and we all had a look of disbelief mixed with disgust at his behavior. He wasn't blatant about it but two tables away I could her him say he excepts more and was disappointed with them. 8 of us came to this Gringos last night. We had fajitas, chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, tacos, tortilla soup frozen margaritas..all the food was really good! We sampled each of the dishes, and I liked them all. Beef Fajitas, and chicken enchiladas were my most favorite, the beef enchiladas has a tasty red sauce with yummy seasoned beef. Our waitress was very sweet and thorough, as it was a busy night, but still didn't have to wait long for our food, it was a very nice and relaxing supper. Thank you Gringos! read more

Floors and tables are dirty, Service sucks, rude customer service. Waited for over an hour to be seated after making a reservation, after seated still not enough seating, when told about the situation they wanted to add 4 chairs to a 4 person table. Food was not great the server couldn't even tell me if there was jalapeños in there salsa I'm allergic so there for I had just a plain chimichanga and it was not good at all my drink was the only drink that the waitress never refilled if we go back it will be for the chips and the margaritas that's about it I was very disappointed. Worst & slowest customer service out of all locations. There should be better communication between the hostesses. One hostess told us we would have the first available table within 20 minutes. After 35 minutes we asked about our table and was told it would be another 30 minutes after seeing about 6-8 groups/parties leave. This is unacceptable especially when a manager is unavailable to assist. I will not visit this establishment ever again nor recommend it. Have been here a few times and the food is good. Our last visit the wife and I sat at the bar as the restaurant was pretty full. I had a beer while waiting on the food and ordered another as the food got there. Was told as the second beer arrived that there was a 2 drink limit. Needless to say I wont be back. The chips and salsa are the best. This Gringo's is very clean, the food is delicious, and the service is friendly. Tyler is an excellent waiter. He treated our whole family with respect and was very pleasant. I highly recommend trying Gringo's. The food, service, and overall experience are far better than your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. Been to a location in the Fairfield area off the 290 so knew when this location opened it would be busy. We waited several weeks before going for dinner. We arrived at about 5:30 to find a wait of 1 1/2 hours! Left and went to a different place. Second attempt was a week or so later and again a long wait. The third visit was Christmas Eve and they were closed when we got there at 5:30. Fourth attempt was this past Saturday. We added our name to the "join our wait list" feature on their site. We arrived within 10 minutes (5:15) to be told it was going to be at least a 45 min. Wait! So, what is the point of the "wait list"? They advertise it will get you seated faster. We have given up going to this restaurant. With all the other choices in the New Caney/Porter awe will continue to support the family owned and operated restaurants. Found a really good one on 1314 2/18/2019 - Happy to report that we went back to Gringo's tonight. Used their "join the waitlist" feature on their web site and at 4:30 we were seated within a few minutes of arrival. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Our server, Haylie, was spot on . You would think she was a seasoned server but after talking to her we learned she had only been on the job for about a month and a half. I love coming to Gringo's but for some reason there's always something that I'm disappointed with when I come to this location. I walk up to the hostess station to let them know I was checking in (Do yourself a favor & always check for wait times on Open Table, make a reservation or put your name down if it's busy!). I stood there for a good 20 seconds while the hostess' finished up their whispering conversation. When they were done they just looked up at me, didn't greet me or ask any questions. Once we were being seated, the male host didn't say ONE word to us. He just started walking away and we figured we should follow him? He rudely showed us to our table and walked away. He left a basket of chips on the table. No salsa. The waiter eventually came to take our drink order and was very surprised that they didn't give us salsas. Fast forward to our food...the food runner brought out our meal and quickly ran off. We waited around for silverware until the waiter came back. Other than that the food was great as always. I mean the chips to go come prepacked as to last you two weeks so you have time to wait and throw them away if you like because they arent worth eating. Just like i'd imagine cardboard would taste like. The salsa tasted like old ketchup that was reblended with some pepper and maybe part of a jalepeno. So disgusting. Seems she should go get a new job if that's the case. Our online reservation ended up getting us seated faster than the one we made in person one hour prior. And I've been going to this location since it first opened and I probably go there about once a month My main to suggest are either the quesadillas or the fajitas. The customer service was good, but most likely will not return to this particular location due to me feeling ill (Not COVID symptoms). 1st Time here: Decent food, not great service. Sat at a dirty bar for 10 minutes before we were even greeted and had to ask for it to be wiped down. They asked what our drink orders were and hadn't even received menus or water. Food was good. Had to ask for refills of chips and salsa, as well as silverware after our dinner order came out. Waited for 15 minutes w empty plates for our checks. Bartender checking his phone, chatting, etc.... mind you this is coming from a server/bartender so I have certain expectations on the service I give people when working and how i am served at a restaurant.
