I have been a long time supporter of Griots Garage and bought many items from them directly in past like their awesome wheel cleaner. When Autogeek/Autopia became an authorized vendor it was natural to buy items locally and stick with brand. The challenge is their lifetime warranty is no longer same definition. They often update items like their buffers, and require payment for difference if your unit fails and under their warranty. Prices go up over time, so expect to pay difference. Recently I had the G21 backing plate fail due to poor inner material. They answered email quickly and pointed towards replacement at my cost versus warranty. Shipping of a 25 dollar item (that fits in envelope) was 15 bucks regular delivery ! The backing plate is consumable which leads to buyer needing to replace even when failure could be evident of build material and not just consumer use. Luckily it failed when I was able to pull away from any finish damage, and just swept up the foam inter core. The employees are nice and polite just not the original Griots warranty from 20 years ago. They did ultimately help with this item and appreciative that they found a resolution that worked. Because item is proprietary to them, need to consider having an additional one as backup for future. I ultimately like the G21 Long Throw Buffer and hope for future use. read more

The results were amazing on a 14 year old survivor. Recently we purchased a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek in Pure Red. The dealer offered a costly paint treatment that I declined. Instead I used the 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax and was very pleased with the results. The color appears deeper and just pops more. While not ideal picture conditions, I have posted pictures of the Crosstrek in my garage to show what a great job the product did. I have used Griot's wash and detail products for many years. They are expensive and worth it. But STAY AWAY from their clothing and similar accessories. I recently ordered a "Caffeine and Gasoline" coffee cup. I was disappointed but not surprised to find it's made in China and warns that "handle may be too hot" after microwaving. It's going in the Goodwill pile. Considering the prices Griot's charges their stuff should be made in the USA. read more

Don't trust the customer service representative's advice on detailing products. The quality of the customer service representatives has deteriorated - these people DO NOT have extensive detailing experience. I've been provided bad advice by Griot's reps who are clearly not knowledgeable on automotive detailing. And their bad advice has cost me time and money. Don't rely on their generalists who basically just hawk their products whether the products are appropriate/optimal or not. Griots needs to hire some detailing pros with actual detailing experience. Have been using Griot's products for a few years now and have never been disappointed. Love their passion for cars, and its clearly seen through the products they make across their entire portfolio. After being introduced to them via fans on a car forum I tried out a couple of their products and was hooked. Never looked back after that. It was only a year after I started using them did I realize they are actually located in my back yard here in the PNW. I've visited them a few times since. They have a little mini-auto Disneyland going with their setup, and I'd definitely recommend anyone in the area to stop by and pay them a visit. From their insane drying cloths, to their various cleaning and polishing solutions, garage tools, random orbitals, I've used quite a bit of what they have to offer and have had no reason to look elsewhere. For $9.99 one would think this stuff should be pretty good and not some national brand garbage. I detail my vehicles constantly as I advertise on my trucks. This stuff is an absolute nightmare. The slinging ( I did not drive for approx 11 hours after I applied this stuff ) is the worst I have EVER had. Have been a faithful user of Griot products for years and years; I always loved going into the store and looking at what is new and restocking my supplies. However, over the last couple years each trip is progressively worse for customer service. This week was the bottom of service, the store was empty and two people were working, my wife and I were looking around because I am going to the ceramic line of products for new bike I just bought, no on asked if they could help, no one offered any advice or direction in 20 minutes, then we went up to pay and not a single "find everything" or "have you tried" or even at the end a simple freaking thank you. I made a request cancel my order with Griots (email and voicemail) within 30 mins of placing my order. Got an email response Monday saying that I'm unable to cancel due to "the stage that it's in". We've been using Griot's approximately 10 yrs now. In the beginning they where having issues with there backing plates. If it failed you got a NEW machine!! So far I'm pretty disappointed with my first experience ordering through their web site. I used Paypal and wanted my order to be delivered to my office and NOT my home/billing address. (I did NOT want my DA polisher to walk off my front porch while I was at work.) My work address is also listed on my Paypal account and I've never had any issues delivering to my office until now. I received an email the morning after I placed my order telling me that my order was on hold because of the billing address/shipping address issue. I called immediately and talked to someone and explained my situation with porch pirates, he assured me it was a normal thing to be concerned about theft and he will be taking care of it and it's been straightened out. He had arranged to approve shipping my item. I checked my order status a couple days later and there was NO record of my order. I called and was told it had been withheld for "further review by a supervisor". At this point my package had been delayed three days. I asked to speak with a supervisor, none was available. They could NOT tell me when I was going to be receiving my order. but he would try to get my shipping "expedited". That's the last conversation I had with them. So far. I'm disappointed with their poor and lack of communication and the way they handled my order. I STILL have not gotten a shipping confirmation after four days. read more

I am a customer of Griots and have throughly enjoyed ALL of Griots products. In July of 2023, I ordered several liquid products including a one gallon container of Best of Show Detailer. After receiving these the one gallon container was put on a shelve in one of my cabinets. On Sunday morning Oct. 8, I went out into my garage and saw a lot of blue on the floor. Long story short the container had a defect in it and leaked out into the cabinet and eventually leaked onto the floor (see attached photos). I called Griots and talked with Rachel. She was very nice and considerate. She told me that she would send me a new container and a $40 gift card. After receiving the new gallon container it had the same two dents in the exact same location as the one that leaked. I explained to her that this should not have happened but she told me that she couldn't do anymore. I then ask to speak to someone else. John called me and told me that he could send me another $40 gift card but could not do anymore. I now have a $550 custom cabinet that for the most part is ruined. For a company and for owner Richard Griot who prides himself and his company in excellence, this is not how you treat customers when a problem as this occurs. read more

I'm loyal to performance, but customer service is king. Thus, Griot's products occupy most of the space in my car-care products collection. That said, I got turned on to CMX Ceramic spray, and I loved it (at the time, GG had no ceramic option). One day, that CMX bottle was almost empty. I was intrigued to try out GG's new 3-1 Ceramic spray, as well as check out the odor elimination kit for a car I'd recently purchased from a buddy. After talking with Mason at Griot's, I was sold on the spray, but the kit was kind of pricey, so I told him I'd need to think about it. Rather than trying to make a sale, young Mason showed why I continue to reward Griot's with my business. He asked me if I'd be willing to try the ceramic, free of charge? If I'd write an honest review of my results? And, if I'd continue to bring my business in the future? If so, Mason said that he'd GIVE me the ceramic spray, at no cost, as it was a newer product, and I assumed they were looking for positive feedback. I was so impressed, I ended up purchasing the odor eliminating kit on the spot (so at least Mason would be rewarded with SOME of my money for his advice and expertise). The odor kit worked like a charm, and that 3-1 Ceramic spray performance is awesome...but Mason's customer service is what keeps me loyal to Griot's Garage. Keep up the good work! read more

Griot's Garage has an amazing showroom of their automotive products, but the building is way more than that. On South 38th Street in the middle of Tacoma sits this palace to automotive beauty and convenience. It's a showroom, a meeting space, a full service detailing shop and just a great place to hang out for the automotive set. For ladies this is the place to come for your guy if he pays almost (or more) attention to his car than you. I was here for a party thrown by Scion to celebrate their rally team and all good things Scion. The whole place was open for business and you could see that the people at Griot's (pronounced Gree-Ohs, it's like French) know there stuff when it comes to detailing a car, truck, boat, RV or just about anything painted. What really inspired me was the space they created here at their headquarters. I've purchased their products through their catalog for some time now and I can vouch for their waxes and polishing tools. Go to any car show or Concours de Elegance or racetrack and more often than not you will see Griot's Garage products. These are the people that know. This review is more about their retail space than their products though and I could go on about how clean everything was, including the restrooms (the Men's at least) and the grounds. I just purchased a new car with leather interior, and want it to remain beautiful both inside and out. A friend recommended Griot's Garage products. I ordered the liquid Leather Care, the Leather Care Wipes, Spray on Car Wash Kit and Spray on Wax Kit. The order arrived in 5 days, well-packaged. I've used the liquid Leather Care on both my and my husband's leather coats - wonderful! I've had my leather coat for almost 10 years and haven't really done much to care for the leather. I now have the perfect product - the coat is close to being like new. I've used the Leather Wipes on the car upholstery, as the seats have those little tiny holes, so I didn't want to use the liquid for the first time through. I will probably give the liquid Leather Care a try (carefully), but so far the Leather Wipes have done a great job. I just used the Spray On Car Wash today, and it delivers. I like the fact that I can spot clean the car if need be. The car looks great. I'll see how it does in nastier weather with more grime and road tar as we transition into winter. I have a feeling my purchases will last for quite a while. Griot's has a paint sealer kit, so if I want or need to, I can do it myself for about 1/10th the cost of what the car dealer wanted to charge. Just came back from driving an hour each way from Seattle. This is my third visit. The first two were weekend car shows. Today's visit was for a garage sale. I came in 30 minutes after they opened and their sale items were cleared out, which was totally fine. Kudos for those who got up early to be in line. Since I spent an hour driving, I picked up a couple items for 60 bucks, both of which could be purchased at 1/2 of the price from another brand of same quality. Regardless, I was okay with that again. I'm all for supporting a local physical store. BUT the sales guy at the counter needs to do better if this is considered a 'FLAGSHIP' store. It was the skinny guy with too much gel in his hair who had an attitude... or a sense of 'don't give a f'. This is how physical stores lose their customers. Why deal with a guy with no interest in customer service, when I can buy the same stuff within 2 minutes online without having to drive anywhere? I've been using Griot's for about 5 yrs now. We've went thru several G 20 and 15's . Originally because of all the problems we had..mostly with backing plates, I gave Griot's a 1 star. Well they finally figured out how 2 make a backing plate that wouldn't fail. We run these machines ALL day. Every day!! They now run flawlessly!! We also added the G8 to our arsenal of tools. We love it, so much we bought 2 of them! Griot's customer service is the best. Shipments are always prompt. They follow up on everything to insure the best possible customer service! I purchased over $100 of their microfibers and were happy with most except one pack which they were defective. Attempted to contact them several times via email over a 3 week period. Did not receive a single response. Finally got someone on the phone and was told the only way I could exchange is if I paid $12 in shipping to send back. There is not much sense in me spending $12 to return a pack that only cost $20... I went back and added up how much Ive spent on their stuff in the last 2 years and it added up to $2890. And a portion of that was bought directly from them so they were aware of that. Ive also promoted their products at car shows I go to... Just shows they dont care about their customers.
