The inventory is always changing at grocery outlet. Sometimes they have great deals on certain brands of things and sometimes they don't. You never know what they have unless you wander through the aisles so that's the fun of it. I've been able to find great deals on La Colombe cold brew and sometimes can't find it. I always wander in when I'm in the area to discover new drinks. There's no public restroom, so be aware of that. There's always plenty of parking. read more

I gave them one star last time because one of their staffs was super rude, and apparently the attitude overall has improved, so I changed the rating. That being said, there was another issue today. The ham was on sale for $.67 if you spent $50 minimum and I overlooked the $50 minimum and I admitted that was my fault. I checked out one with 11 lb, and the price was $27. I asked if there was a sale on this item. The cashier asked another associate to check the price, and she said it was $0.97 per pound, and she also mentioned the price on the tag was an old price. Another employee behind the cashier tried to explain to me 97 cent was per.pound not the whole thing and she probably thought I was trying to create a trouble and I was not. I asked her, "Okay, you said $97 cents per pound, how many pounds for that ham?" She said 11 pounds. People were lined up behind me, so I didn't want to delay people from checking out as only one check out was opened while three employees behind the cashier, and one of the ladies very patiently showed me $0.67 for $50 minimum and I gave her that. However, I want to remind people that understanding simple math is necessary if you want to perform the job better. .97 cent is less than $1. Even with $1 per pound, 11 pounds which is 1 x 11 is not equal to $26, even if we charge tax on food, and we don't. Most people would have created a scene when the employee raised the voice, and I refused to do so and politely walked away. I hope the local markets to thrive because they're good for the locals. I also hope the local markets up their games in service when they no longer hold any price advantage against other online and local retailers. read more

When people were hoarding TP, rice and water at the height of COVID scare, I was able to purchase these products here. It really helped that they update you on the availability of the merchandise on their FB page so you won't have to waste your precious time scouring the aisles. I've found a lot of bargain prices here although some you have to really check the expiry dates. Service is usually fast and friendly. Parking is free and plenty. read more

I love grocery outlet and have visited at least 5. I can't I'm about 845pm.. the door has a giant sign saying 10 pm . Great. As I walk around I hear a girl announce closing in 5 mins? What??!!! Whatever I only grab a few things and head to cashier. For some reason I thought I should check the receipt, which I rarely do .. The garlic I always buy is always 4.99 here is 5.99... no thanks I'll shop my usual GO. I bought a carton of ice coffee and noticed they're charging a CRV.. I tell the girl at the door. She tries to say it's normal. Nope I explain CRV means redemption to recycle. There isn't any redemption value for paper carton. Then notice they charge my ebt for a bag which is supposed to be free . I know it's not a lot of money .. it's the penny pinching dishonesty that I don't like. We have been shopping at this store for more than five years. There is one female cashier who always gives us or Asians an attitude. We saw many times that she was greeting nicely to the customers in front of us and changed to a poker face right on us. Today, we spent $19 on groceries and politely asked her to break a five dollar bill. Leila: NO! I don't have enough dollar bill. But we saw plenty of dollar bills in her drawer. The Baldwin Park Grocery Outlet is a true gem in the community! Great buys on different cuts of meat, a huge variety of cheeses, and wine. They always have good deals as well on kitchen ware and household goods as well as the cutest garden decorations! The customer service is second to none! The cashiers are all kind and personable! And the owner, Sam, is a down to earth, hardworking man who I have had the pleasure of meeting. He cares about his store and its customers! Five months ago, during Christmas, I actually had my groceries paid for as I won the "free groceries" when I spun the wheel during their special Christmas event for customers complete with warm drinks and pan dulce (sweet bread). What an awesome store to do that! Even more recently, I had the unfortunate experience to witness a couple steal from the store by walking out with a basket filled with food without paying. It was awful to witness! Grocery Outlet may be a corporation but each store is independently owned by a small business owner and theft hurts them greatly. Grocery outlet is literally walking distance from my house, so I go about 3 to 4 time a week. Today I went to buy a few things and noticed $1.00 of a few 1/2 gallon milks so I grabbed one. Took it the register and the girl called a manager and asked her "Do we put stickers on milk" as if I went with my own sticker and labeled them $1 off.. The manager went to checked and called her on the walk- talkie and was like " I don't see any other milks with stickers. It pissed me off , as if I was lying.. I know it won't make a difference but me and my family will not shop there anymore.. They should do there jobs and check everything out. read more

I came with my sister to buy boysenberry plant on a Saturday morning in June. I seen their advertisement on their Facebook page. They sell various plants, such as grapes, blueberry, raspberry, and boysenberry are in front of the door. Also the aisles are well stocked and easy to look for various items. The avocado oil is good deal $8.99. The cashier will ask how many bags. Plenty of spaces to park. read more

I've visited a few grocery outlets and this is one of my favorites. I think they have fair pricing and occasionally they have really killer deals. Of course the stuff it's going to expire soon but that's part of the game. You can't expect to get stuff extremely cheap that is gonna last forever. These foods should be consumed quickly. I see two of the staff members regularly and they always say hi, it makes it feel more like a true neighborhood store. Don't come Sunday morning because that's right before they restock everything, so the shelfs are pretty empty. A good sign the they rotate their products regularly. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews about people and especially businesses that we need in BP, but the customer service here is the worst I have ever experienced at a grocery store. I went in to buy a mop that was located in a bin that read, "7.99." I thought it was a reasonable price for a tornado mop so I bought it. Upon inspecting my receipt, I noticed that I was charged 8.99 instead of the advertised price of 7.99. I went back to the store to let the cashier know that I would like my dollar back if the mop was indeed 7.99. It's not about the dollar. It's about the principle of the situation and the customer service. Anway, the cashier went to get a mop to double check the price and said "this mop is 7.99" and I said, "yes, so why was I charged 8.99 for the one I took home?" She compared my receipt to the advertised price. The cashier called the manager, Cathy, to the front. Cathy came out, grabbed the same mop, checked prices and said the same thing as the cashier. I responded, "I only want the dollar adjustment." Cathy said, "wait a moment, I'm going to go check." Check what? Turns out she was checking the cameras to see where I got the mop from. I let her know that I needed to go to work so I couldn't wait too long. I ended up waiting 15 mins, which was going to make me late for work. So, I ended up leaving but left my phone number with the cashier so that they can call me back and fix the situation. Cathy never called me back, so I called the market. Cathy picked up and didn't explain anything new, she kept going on with the same argument of that being the right price for the mop and that I had somehow gotten a different kind of mop, claiming that I never got it from the bin after she checked her cameras. I did indeed get it from the 7.99 bin, not from "the back" as she claimed she saw on her cameras. I told her, "it doesn't matter if it was a different mop or not, it was in the 7.99 bin, obviously being advertised as 7.99." Cathy said, "No, you're returning a different mop." Nowhere was I returning anything. It wasn't a return. I needed the mop. What I wanted was a price adjustment (my dollar). She kept on saying that the cashier said it was a return. It wasn't. I had to tell her about 4-5 times it wasn't a return. She was screaming at me on the phone. Same argument. She wouldn't even let me talk. Then finally, at the end of the conversation, she somehow got the point that I just wanted my dollar back. It's my right to have my own money back, however little or much that is. She exclaims, "Just for one dollar you're making a big deal?" I could've asked her the same thing! I said, "I just want to know if you're going to give me my dollar back or not." She said, angrily and absolutely annoyed that she would give it back to me in store credit. Bottom line: Cathy is a terrible ambassador for this company. She treats customers like shit. I would know as I work for a large corporation and do customer service myself. We don't ever yell or talk to customers in the absolutely abhorrent manner that Cathy did. In fact, I would be fired if I did something anywhere near what Cathy did. Further, it's not the customer's fault that you have false advertising. That needs to be fixed ASAP...on top of the fact that Cathy needs to change her lack of customer service. I'm a customer that goes to this Grocery Outlet about 3 times a week. You lost me and you lost my family from coming here. I've never felt so mistreated and insulted in any establishment like the way I did at this grocery store. read more

Purchased a tub of yogurt on 7/17 evening and went home to discover mold on it. 7/18 afternoon went back to return the yogurt. Cashier was apologetic and paged the manager for approval of return. I did not have the debit card that my boyfriend purchased with so I was told to use as store credit. They took the receipt and yogurt while I got replacement items as the same yogurt was not even available anymore... Everything fine, until the manager shows up. I believe her name is Cathy. She came to the register picking up a receipt and without looking at me asks "is this the receipt?". I don't need a greeting or apology for the inconvenience of driving back to return moldy food. But if someone wants me to confirm if THEY are reading my receipt, then they should hand it to me and not expect me to see through the back of the receipt that THEY are reading. Then the manager picks up a tub of yogurt from under the register and asks "is this the yogurt?". I don't know how many moldy yogurts she keeps under there, so again I can't help her with her question. She finishes the return as if I caused HER inconvenience and walks away without saying anything else. This is my first ever Yelp review and it saddens me for it to be a bad one. Don't get me wrong, the chain and franchise itself sells decently priced products. However, it's the customer service for each store that makes a difference in your shopping experience. The store employee, Michelle, was really rude to me in her response to my simple question and really soured my opinion of the store's operation. I merely asked Michelle why the orchids in their Baldwin Park location was $1 more expensive than the orchids in the store in Avocado Heights. The BP store was selling the orchids for $8.99 whereas the store in AH sold the same exact orchids for $7.99. A simple question and I literally was just curious. Michelle's response? "I have never been to Avocado Heights, so I wouldn't know how much they sell their stuff...if you don't like the price, then don't buy it." To me, there was no need for her to be rude--even a simple "I don't know" would have been nicer. I guess if you don't care about customer service then you won't mind this store but to me, a good business is not just run on cheap prices but also through how they treat their customers. read more

I know we're in a pandemic right now and getting essentials can be tough, I had a baby in January and we've been quarantined since...by the time we were able to go out the pandemic had started. I went to buy items yesterday since I was literally eating whatever I had left, I haven't had paper towels nor toilet paper in my household for over a month. When I finally found it here I wasn't able to buy both as if they were the same thing. Management said it's because they need to make sure every household has the item. I guess except my household since this idiot thought it's the same thing. The good thing was that I found it next door from them at Dollar Tree. This place needs to get in order, they never honor their mistakes as well, things are ALWAYS priced wrong and instead of honoring the mistake, they say you moved the items. As ex manager I understand how important customer service is, if my employees didn't change labels by the time it was on a customers hand, it would be honorable. They need better management because this kid does not know what he's doing. He's not even professional at all! read more

This market is really close to my home and my wife and I wanted to take a look. This market looks really nice on both the inside and out. However, upon entering immediately a young male worker asked us to leave our little backpack at the register. We have a new born and we use a fairly small backpack as a diaper bag. I insisted that the bag was for my baby and we have all the stuff she needs in there, but they were persistent and even pointed to a sign in front that read "large bags must be kept at the register." Okay, I should've read that before entering and I was okay with it, a little uneasy but okay. As I continued to shop, the store is really nice, well stocked and clean. Associates walk passed you without asking questions and avoid eye contact. After few minutes I noticed at least 4 other woman come into the store with bags/purses way larger than the backpack we were using. This upset me, only because now I feel they singled us out for reasons I don't know. As we left the store, I noticed another customer walk in with a ridiculously large bag, and I went to see if the same young employee that told us to remove our bag would tell her to do the same...NO HE DID NOT. UNFORTUNATELY, we will not shop here again. I would understand if they enforced their "rule" for everyone but, they did not. bought a mini watermelon and when I cut it in half. it was dry out. the outer layer has holes in it cuz all moistures and juice are long gone. you can tell this watermelon is old. the inside presented a pinkish white. This place is ok. Better than having no market nearby. They don't offer everything a regular market would. Their goal is to find deals and pass that savings on to customers so sometimes they don't have what you need. I have been doing my weekly grocery from your store for quite some time now but I am disappointed with your service today. One of your cashiers (her name is Karla on the receipt) failed to bag or even help me bag my groceries and just let me scramble all of them in my bags while she proceeded to check out the customer after me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since when did cashiers stop bagging groceries?? The bagging area is also obviously still very full of my groceries and she could've at least helped out in bagging them before moving on to the next customer, rather than checking out the groceries of the next customer and forcing them in with mine. This is the first time it has happened and I don't know if it has anything to do with me not purchasing any bags today and reusing my old ones. I have been to another grocery outlet store in Avocado Heights and their cashiers (or another cashier that is free) bag the groceries for their customers so I am considering doing my weekly shopping there from now on as they offer better customer service and their cashiers actually do their jobs. read more
