For the past year I've been really impressed with the improvements in this store. The produce has gotten a lot better and in fact they're the only store I've found here with fresh papayas and they're really good also the berries, tomatoes, avocados, even the artichokes. Kudos to the produce guy. I'm hoping he'll be able to get the black watermelons. He said he would try. The cheeses and other deli stuff in three areas offer some great buys and be sure to check them all. Yes they do move stuff around a lot. Keep us on our toes I guess. If you want something on the left side of the store be sure to ask for Sheena, Queen of the Jumble, I mean Housewares. Yesterday I wanted some rubber runners for the kitchen and she had some stored in the bank that were perfect. Today I went back for the rest of them and they had trouble finding them as she wasn't there, but the manager finally did. The owner is extremely rude. The store was very dirty and a lot of food on the shelves had already exceted the expiration date. I used the bathroom on my visit and it was so disgusting and unsanitary. It looked like there has never been an attempt to clean it ever. If you need to get groceries go anywhere but here. Not only is it gross but the lady who is the property owner is even more unsettling she is one of the most unprofessional and off-putting people I have come across in a long time. Always a place I need to go when in town. This was the first Grocery Outlet I had ever been to. Prices are great, do look for size differences in some items. Love the variety of cheeses they have. And what a steal on them. Place is always clean and staff helpful read more

The one star is not for the store's cleanliness, or quality of products but the one cashier that I recently found out most locals (except her friends) avoid her line like the plaque.. she rude.. throws product with out a care... does help bag...spends more time chatting with others .... Diverse and inexpensive groceries with a short shelf life. Choose what you need to have and use it quickly

Last straw for me today. Two years ago I had suggested to the staff that the dog food sitting outside the front of store in over 100 degree heat and sun should be moved inside or in the shade because it was really bad for the dogs. Bacteria could grow or potentially spoil. I remember being talked rudely back and thought wow no customer service here. I hope no one ever bought that nasty heated dog food. When I came in during Covid totally understood why they wanted us to bag our own groceries. I get it. But then when things were easing up they still wouldn't bag groceries. When I asked the cashier he was put out and said it their policy. Same employee - same rude attitude. Even though other cashiers helped. Every other grocery started bagging. I stopped going through his checkout. Today I go in and check out and the cashier picked up and pushed all my items for me to bag. I had just given blood and was a little slow. She Didn't offer any help. I paid and still had at least 2 bags of items to bag still. And you know what the cashier did. Started checking out the guy behind me?!?! I literally had 30 items on the cashier table and this guy is paying and squeezing next to me to compete his transaction. I have never experienced this level of customer service. On the way out I asked both cashiers do they not help when I bring my bags and the other cashier was like no she can help. Do I have to beg to have someone bag my groceries? This was just crazy to me. Half the staff is friendly and helpful and I think they are great! Which still kept me coming to the outlet bc there are bound to be some bad apples. Which is why two stars and not one. This will be the last visit to Jackson. I love grocery outlet the store. So I will plan to go to placerville, Folsom, rancho Cordova. Customer service goes a long way and because I live locally I try and support local business's but at this point I'd rather go somewhere else. read more

I still shop here all the time because of the great deals on a decent selection of food, but I find it peculiar that regardless of how busy it is, I always have to park halfway across the parking lot. I suspect that the employees park front and center which requires all the customers to walk farther to the store. read more

I'm a fan what can say, to shop here is to understand the rotation of inventory. I appreciate the clean store and the hard working team members. I think each person is key and does a great job. I love the cheese selections I know it can be hard to order and be consistent . I support local business and understand every day cannot be a rainbow kind of day, we are human! For being up in the mountains I appreciate what we do have I understand we always want more. But let's appreciate what we have and praise the work. We all can do better but this store works hard. This Grocery Outlet is clean, well-stocked with a variety of staple grocery items at great prices, and also seems to offer some nice gourmets items in their deli and meats selections. Last week,I stopped by on my way up to the ski resort and picked up some French salami "Herbes de Provence" for $2.99. Fantastic price for enough sliced delicious salami to feed 3 hungry skier for lunch when enjoyed with some cheese and tortillas to make a roll-up sandwich for a tailgate meal in the parking lot. There's also a decent selection of microbrew beers and some wines from near and far. I've found items like Immaculate Baking Company's buttery ready-to-bake pie crusts and tasty soft, rich brie cheeses here for a very good price. It's definitely worth stopping in here when provisioning up for a few days in the mountains. read more

I've shopped at Grocery Outlet since they 1st opened a store in Jackson but I'm not going back any time soon. Despite COVID beginning to surge again, there was not a single employee wearing a mask. No signs on the doors saying masks required regardless of vaccination status (per CDPH requirements throughout the state), no wipes present to wipe down shopping karts, and no hand sanitizer available to customers. All that indicates to me that the owners of this store care little about protecting their customers and our community. read more

I loved this store, but now with Covid, only ONE cashier had her mask on, all others and the girls stocking had them under their noses & three in the back were laughing about the stupid people shopping with masks on. It would be great if I could buy food for myself,& not have to worry about getting Covid again & the outrageous hospital co-pays I have now. It almost killed me. Would be nice to shop safely. It's not complicated to wear a mask properly, to protect ME from your virus, even if it didn't make you sick. read more

I have read the other reviews, and I couldn't disagree more. Perhaps in the beginning they did have a few growing pains, and the produce section has taken some time to come up to snuff, but it is truly the gem of Jackson as far as exceptional prices. Gone are the days, if they ever truly were, of close to expired items, now that they are getting a good consistent crowd of loyal customers, those days are gone. Their cheese selection is better than anywhere in the county except for Adrae's, but at bargain basement prices, just exceptional!!! They always have organic meats, at a price that is affordable, they constantly have amazing deals on some exotic product I've always wanted to try, but was prohibited by price. I do not do any shopping at Safeway anymore, the cashiers are so much more friendly at Grocery Outlet, and if I need something they don't offer, like rum, we go right down the road to Cost Less. We are so very thankful that this wonderful gem of a Mom and Pop, locally owned and operated grocery is here to stay!!! For the other reviewers with a less than stellar experience, may I suggest that you give them another try? They are close, exceptionally friendly, the owners are always there and it's truly like a treasure hunt every week as new items rotate in. Great prices and a great selection. The only semi-downside is that the inventory changes all the time, so you never know what you're going to find. Some of the items are interesting or unique, so you get a lot of opportunities to try things you otherwise might not. Some are hits, some are misses, but the prices are such that it never hurts too much. read more

I actually love this store. I've started going here first before I go to my regular grocery store because I can get good deals. Then I fill in the gaps from the regular grocery store with a few veggies and meat. It's a specialty store, not meant to be like a huge grocery store with a bakery, lots of meat and veggies. Most of their prices are fair, but also they have fantastic deals on certain items. I bought powdered milk for $.79 a box that made 8 quarts!! Unheard of. In a Grocery Outlet in another town I bought 64 oz of Hellman's Mayonnaise for $.99!! It was not out of date. It has become my favorite grocery store. read more

I couldn't wait for this grocery store to open, now that I have been there several times it wasn't worth the wait. Most of the items they carry have expired or are about to expire. The produce & meat sections are really small. No bakery. I doubt they will be open in a year. read more

This is my first stop on grocery shopping day. I don't always find everything I need here, but the prices are fantastic and they have many new products before they hit other stores. Companies use Grocery Outlet to test market new products. They have amazing prices on cheese, I get goat cheese here regularly at half the price of other stores. Be sure to check expiration dates, as some items are close to expiration. If you find a product you like, you may want to get more right away, sometimes they don't get it in again. Much of their produce is bagged or boxed so you can't just get one or two, but the selection is far better than other Grocery Outlets I've been in. This store has a great wine department, great quality and a low price. The meat department is a disappointment, I usually get my meat elsewhere, but take a look, I've found some great deals here. On your first visit here, I recommend going down every aisle, you will be surprised at what you find here, from housewares, to toiletries, to canned goods. You may not find everything on your list, but you will save a lot of money! read more

You know I shop here often, and when I need to save money on certain items this is the place I come running to. HOWEVER....the attutudes from some of the cashiers in this store have made me want....CRINGE! And, literally drop my purchase right then, and there! Hint: Been treated far better in a Stockton Grocery Outlet then this one right here in Jackson mind you! I can't understand Why...for the love of Moses that you have an empty store, and nobody to check out and you are rushing me through your check out , and pretty much giving me the boot in the rear to get out of your store...
