They do a good job and my dog always comes back to me in a good mood when he's done here. I would say the pricing is fair for the area. I had been a loyal customer of this grooming place for a couple of years now since it's the closest one to my home. Scheduled an appointment here for my two furry dogs with a 3-4 hours block of time assigned to them. Prior to coming, I confirmed appointment via text, I informed them that I was on my way and running behind because one of my dog is acting up. I got to the salon in a hurry and the owner refused to take any of my dogs stating that since I'm late, ( even though they're aware I'm coming and didn't even informed me not to come) the groomer had already taken other clients that quick to get paid for that block of time that was initially intended for my pups. The owner even remarked that I should have taken my pups earlier for their grooming which I explained I had been trying, but their schedule is completely booked and the schedule I have was the earliest time they could give me. I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that my pups were treated unfairly and waiting more than a month to get groom and finally when it's their time to get pampered this salon made excuses to deny them services is really disappointing. Would be happy to take both of them to another grooming place that respects the time of the owner and would not discriminate my dogs just because their furry and need more time and work to cater to their needs. read more

I just moved to Florida and our dog needed a haircut badly. He is always very tense when meeting new people so we was worried and scared to to just go anywhere. I've been driving by this place for the past two months and I finally decided to make an appointment and I must say it was the best decision ever. Charlie saw ERICA for he's appointment and she was extremely friendly and patient with him as he wouldn't stop barking at her but she was so nice with him. They called me within 45 minutes that he was ready and I thought that was so fast and I was worried he did not get a good haircut. But boy was I WRONG this has been the best haircut Charlie has ever gotten I would recommend this place 1000 times. Everyone is friendly nice and professional. I love taking my doggies here to see Erika. She does a great job, very patient, nice and always welcoming to me and my fur babies. I was pleasantly surprise that a full groom here with my doggies only takes 1 hour. I use to go to one of the big box grooming place and it can take up to 3 hours! But this is mostly going to be the lone case, because of the excellent staff member that makes this place so great.Disclaimer: I have not brought my dog yet for grooming here, rather this is a review based on shopping experience and pet care experience. Ricky (sp?) was phenomenal in her help with me and my wife as soon as we walked in. She was informative, polite, and positive and actually gave us a lot of sound advice with great answers to our questions. This has to be one of my top 3 experiences in a place of all time. She went OUT of her way to inform us, didn't pressure us to buy anything, and reassured us that the product we had already been using for our dog was vetted and safe. If we could put 0 stars, we would! Overpriced groom shop, had an awful experience, for both me and my dog. We went in last week for a simple nail trimming, and asked a few questions that they had no clue what the answers were. One of which, I asked if they clipped or dremeled the nails. After she asked the groomer (a question you would think they would ALREADY know), she said they did both. Then they took my dog to the back room to do his nails. One disturbing feature of this groomer is that it is behind closed doors, where pictures, flyers, and paintings block your view. At first, I was trusting, up to the point when I heard my dog yelp, at a pinch I've only heard once before in the year we've had him. Alarmed, I stood on my tip toes to watch the rest of the procedure. I noticed her YANKING my dog's legs, in a forceful manner. At one point, she pulled his right hind leg from the opposite side of his body, creating an uncomfortable position for my dog just because she was too lazy to walk around the table. Worst part, the end result were massacred nails that were not dremeled. Just happy to get my dog outta there, I will NEVER go back! read more

Absolutely disgusting!!! I have a beautiful dog that is a border collie mix which has beautiful feathering on her tail, ears and legs. We booked for a full groom but explained that we wanted to keep her feathering but just wanted it trimmed and shaped. What we got back was a disgrace she was fully shaved from top to bottom. I can only describe it as you going to your favorite hair salon and instead getting a marine corp barber . I will never go back to this place and frankly will make sure I fully spread this terrible work in the community. read more

We love love love groom grub and belly rub. We've taken our cocker spaniel golden retriever and now mini Australian Shepherd to Amanda. They don't crate during the grooming which is a must for us. Not only that everyone is extremely helpful when it comes to our dogs nutritional needs and even lend a hand out to the car. Have a small 9lbs poodle was charged $55 for a mini groom that typically takes them about an hour in the past. Took 2 and a half hours with an appointment. Which was changed from 10am to noon without notice. When appointment was confirmed they said they have been screwing up a lot lately. When expressing dissatisfaction with the length of his facial hair and was told that was not part of a mini groom even though doing it was specifically mentioned when dropping my dog off. read more

I've been a customer of Groom Grub & Belly Rub for a few years now. My dog Duke needs a dog sitter if I travel for work or go back home to California. Sam, who unfortunately is no longer with GGBR, was fantastic with Duke. The people who work here are all TRUE animal lovers and take great pride in their work. Sam would always send me picture texts of Duke so I would know he was doing great. The price is reasonable, but does add up. Still cheaper than leaving your dog at an actual boarding kennel. i'm not sure who's going to miss this place more when i move back to gainesville, me or my dog? groom grub & belly rub is beyond words fabulous. when i first moved to the avalon park area i was worried i wouldn't be able to find a dependable dog walker - but then i found nim. i went into GGB on a sunday and didn't think i'd be able to set up dog walking/visits for the very next day, but i let the cashier know i needed someone asap, and as soon as i got home i received a call from nim. he came over 20 min. later for an initial evaluation, and then the next day for my dog's first visit. nim, and as far as i know the entire GGB dog sitting staff, is conveniently available via text message. i've been able to same-day adjust the time of my sitting visit as well as send someone over on a day i hadn't originally scheduled. read more

Grooming area looked nice. Quality food products and nicely and neatly merchandised. There are lots of boutique pet shops but this one run by someone who seriously cares about high quality food and treat offerings but also gets that customer service is equally necessary. I got a phone call during middle of my work day asking me to either 1) bring my dog in early because there's an earlier spot opened up and the groomer didn't want to hang around with nothing to do until my scheduled appointment time; or 2) reschedule for a different day. Just had a wonderful experience with the groomers and staff at Groom Grub & Belly Rub. We brought our Border-Collie mix there for the first time last night. He was way overdue for a groom, because we'd had a bad experience with a mobile grooming service. We decided to try Groom Grub & Belly Rub because they are small, and close to our home in Eastwood, and literally a few doors down from Yoga East where we practice yoga. In short, they were great. Our Norris came out looking fantastic! The groomer did an excellent job giving him a nice short summer 'do without shaving him down or making him look like a sheared sheep. He smells wonderful, and came prancing out of the back room relaxed and happy, not glassy-eyed and panting like he has at other places. The did a top-notch job removing his dense undercoat, and his coat is shiny and glossy. Another plus, the woman working the front of the store, probably the manager, was great, kind, caring and obviously a dog lover. When we arrived a tiny bit before he was ready, I could hear her talking to Norris telling him what a good boy he was and petting his head. The groomer was a delight too, I definitely will be back when he needs another groom, and recommend this place to anyone wanting a great place for dog grooming.
