Tired this place today at the beer and doughnut festival in Kalamazoo. They did great! Second place, voters choice??? You guys rocked it!! I got to talk to the 2 people who run this business and you can see their passion and I love their story. They stayed up alllll night to make sure they could participate and their hard work showed. Presentation: 10/10 and same for wow factor. The doughnuts themselves were good as well. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to Lansing soon. Great job guys! read more

I tend to occasionally think of myself as a donut connoisseur, that being said, I am incredibly pleased with the donuts from Groovy Donuts. I like to look for the three "T's" when looking at how to rate a donut. Taste, Texture and Timing. "Taste", these are some of the best tasting donuts you are going to find, and the sheer amount of variety will give everyone at least 1 or 2 favorites. "Texture", come on we have all had that donut from somewhere that looks like a great donut but when you sink your teeth into what is meant to be God's greatest creation, the texture ruins the whole experience. THIS IS NOT the case with Groovy Donuts, texture is perfect! Not to fluffy and flaky, not to hard and crunchy, just a good solid soft yet firm texture. "Timing", how long is a good donut good? I have had pretty good donuts that if you eat 2-3 hours after being made fresh are complete garbage by that point. Well I am on some donuts that are over 24 hours old and they are still fresh! All in all I cant recommend this place enough, if you are looking for a delicious, fresh tasting this is the only place you need to go! read more

Delicious! Friendly staff and nice space. I quite enjoy the donuts while catching up on some reading at Groovy Donuts. They also have wifi. I also usually order coffee to go with my donuts. Coffe is good there too. Delicious, friendly and groovy. Worth visiting!! read more

I was beyond disappointed with the options they had on a Sunday morning at 10am. You would think on the weekend they would have more options other than gluten free and vegan which they had an overflow of. The sparse donuts we could pick for our half dozen were average at best read more

Went to Groovy Donuts over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the donuts and fritter that we ordered. My son wanted the signature donut....the groovy donut and he would not put it down. Don't waste your time going after 9:00 am. Selection is terrible. They really don't have any concept of tracking what people buy and don't buy. Still some donuts on the shelf, but obviously the leftovers. Also, please MAKE MORE PLAIN BUTTERMILK and other NON-GLAZED donuts. Some people have sugar limitations but can tolerate a few things and would like to share in the donuts with the rest of the family. Others just don't like all the glaze and sugar toppings all the time. EVERY TIME we go, there are no plain buttermilks (which makes it awkward buying donuts for a group knowing some will be left out. Maybe better to just skip the donut thing...?) This is at 9:00 in the morning! Even tried both Williamston and East Lansing store on the same day. Clearly a production/planning problem. See my first comment above. And I know you're going to say "Small bakery, yada, yada,..." Well, it's going to be even smaller when people start deciding it's not worth the trip, or that they don't want to buy for some, if they can't buy for all. read more

Best vegan and non-vegan donuts I've ever had. Never disappointed when I come here! Their drinks are pretty good too however I believe they don't have non-dairy milk if you're lactose intolerant or vegan. read more

I love this place immensely! They have my all-time favorite Boston Cream doughnut (among tons of other yummy options) that I have regularly. They've mastered the yeast doughnut, and their cake doughnuts are soft, with a great fried exterior. Highly recommend their blueberry glazed cake option! Service is always fantastic, and cheery. I'm from out of town so wanted to bring my children home some donuts as a special treat. I stopped at Groovy Donuts out of convenance at 9:15 am. Nice looking place, very big inside for a donut shop. They had a limited selection and quantities of the donuts my family prefers. I usually get donuts at the grocery store bakery and was surprised by the cost of Groovy Donuts (12-donuts for $18) compared to grocery store which is usually $12. My order probably would have been around $25 because according to the receipt my family prefers the expensive donuts but due to limited supplies I only purchased two donuts, which I would normally purchase six. I don't mind paying extra for quality however Groovy Donuts did nit even equal the grocery store bakery in taste (whole family agreed). I have been going to Groovy Donuts since the opening of their first shop. Right away I knew the donuts were going to be amazing, and they are! I have a special love for the Williamston location but I just checked out their new East Lansing one today and it had the same charm! The honeymoon donut is my fave, as I am particularly fond of the regular glazed donuts, but all their options are so delicious and they always have the perfect texture! The owners of Groovy Donuts are the coolest people ever, so down to earth and very personable which makes the whole experience a 10/10. I will always come here when I need a donut and I'm in town. Stopped in for the first time today after hearing rave reviews. The place is small and very cute. Seems like a nice place to study on a rainy day. They had samples out of a new pineapple fritter which was delicious. I ended up choosing the nutty donut which I would highly recommend. I've been wanting to get to Groovy Donuts since I noticed it opening - I'm sorry we waited so long! The donuts were fantastic, we tried a variety so we could have some different flavors - carrot cake with perfect cream cheese frosting (not too sweet), chocolate donut with toasted coconut was yum and the cherry apple fritter was fantastic also and big enough to save some for later. The coffee was good and the atmosphere inviting. We will be stopping in again soon! read more

The staff is always so polite and cheerful and the atmosphere is great for working with a warm cafe con leche! I've been a couple times now and it's quickly becoming my favorite study spot. The cherry bismark donut was absolutely delicious. read more
