While I do wish there was less emphasis on single-use plastics, this is a corporate thing, and not the fault of this particular store. THE BIG: Super, super crowded Starbucks. There is always a line here. Located inside Crabtree Valley Mall, right next to Sears on the second floor. Decent space inside with a weird long hallway. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I think they need to revamp the line efficiency of this Starbucks, or maybe go into a bigger space because the line is ridiculous. I remember the first time coming in the line and had to wait for 10 minutes to grab my simple order. After shopping for an hour, I came back and waited for 20 minutes to get another simple order... Granted the line was a bit longer...but wow, I feel if you're trying to maximize revenue, you want to get people in and out as fast as possible. I think this is the ideal Starbucks to bring your laptop and do work. Thats exactly what I did. It is big enough where you wont feel like everyone is on top of each other. You obviously can get food and drinks. On your lunch break you can walk around the mall and even head to the food court. Every indoor table has an outlet. I'm no Starbucks junkie or anything but I know all Starbucks are NOT created equally! That's said this location, albeit convenient since it is conveniently located with direct access to a mall the it is set back away from everything. Even the mall entrance is set back kinda away from everything. The staff, while friendly enough I suppose, when given some feedback on a drink that was made with beans there was no sense of remorse or care. I wasn't looking for a free drink, just someone to say "hey I'm sorry for making it like that" or "I understand your concern". Given that I go to Starbucks on regular basis I was hoping to be treated a bit more like a regular at this location. Customer service is seriously lacking. To set the scene, there were 2 people in line so no rush. The young man taking orders (can't tell you his name because he didn't have a name badge on but he was wearing a straw hat) didn't know anything about the drinks and didn't have the sense to ask a co-worker. He just kept repeating "so what can I get for you?" A new employee that isn't quite knowledgeable yet is understandable. One who doesn't have sense enough to ask any of the 5 co-workers milling about when a customer is inquiring about a new item on the menu, not so much. Customer service 101: if you don't know, be polite and ask the customer to give you a moment while you find someone who does. read more

The worst Starbucks in Raleigh. It's always dirty and packed out the door with people because they're so slow. We went in two weeks ago and it was the most nasty store I've ever been in. They had at least five employees working and yet it took upwards of ten minutes to make our drink and the store was falling apart. Contacted their customer service and got a canned "we're sorry, we'll let them know" response with no offer to make it right. Won't be back to this location again. read more

When I walked in Starbucks, I told awhile to look at the menu. So I stood and look at the menu and the barista was like next because I was the only one in line. Also I let everyone else go first when people came in because I didn't want to hold up the line. Finally I got back in line went to place my order and the guy seem impatient with me. He kept tapping the cashier monitor and like anything anything else and looking around. It's not like I don't know what I want. I'm telling him and he's just not paying attention. So I raised my voice a little louder so he can hear because he was like what did you say. So I ordered the pink drink and I noticed that they gave me more ice compare to the drink. I came here craving an iced caramel latte because I had these in Boston, and I got them all the time from my dining hall in college. It's my turn to place my order after waiting for the one person in front of me to finish hers. There was basically no line, and this place was not busy at all around the time that I went. It was on a Tuesday around 4pm. I order an "iced caramel latte," and they already put in the size of the drink without me telling them what size that I want. They must down grande (medium). I thought that was sort of weird but though nothing of it. They also did not take down my name, which I assumed was from there being no line of people wanting to order their drinks. The total came to be about $5. This was ridiculous.. I am able to buy a MEDIUM iced caramel latte at Dunkin' Donuts for only $3. AND the medium at dunkin' donuts is soooooo much larger than the one from Starbucks. The one from Dunkin' Donuts tastes soooo much better anyways. tl;dr: Starbucks is a waste of money ($5 for medium). Go to Dunkin' Donuts ($3 for medium AND much bigger AND tastes better) read more

Came here to meet someone on a Sunday morning. Busier than I expected since the mall was closed. It took quite a few minutes to get my order. I always come after work to order a mocha frappuccino, however lately the quality its getting worse and worse. Sometimes its liquidity, not enough syrup, it doesnt taste like it used to, and the service is horrible. There was a girl that work there she would make it and i love it. Never had an issue. The staff here have always been nice through the years that I have been coming here and working at Crabtree I have seen them come and go but I always have a pleasurable experience when I do come. Yes, they are busy all of the time but I would assume that is because it is at the mall! They do have both registers open most of the time and a couple of people making the drinks so for being as busy as they are they do keep things moving along pretty quickly. I asked for a grande organic coffee. They are supposed to ring it up then make it via French press. Instead she first pretended like she didn't know they have organic coffee. Then I got a lecture about how after they put it through the grinder, it gets mixed with the other coffee and its no longer organic. I told her I understood and I still want what I ordered.
