Stopped in for a quick dinner one evening. It's located right off of Park Rd so it was pretty easy to get to for me. They have a parking lot so parking was easy. Upon entering, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They weren't busy so seating wasn't an issue and they have a patio which will be great for warm weather. I ordered the STP dipper sandwich with chips and a brownie. The quality of meats on the sandwich were really good and had good flavor. The star for me was the 45 sauce. I thought it was a great enhancement for the sandwich. The chips were just ok to me and could have used a slight hit of salt. The brownie was great. Sandwiches are mostly around $10 which is a bit pricey, but they do seem to use quality products. read more

I am not sure how this place stays in business. I was the only customer at about 430 in the afternoon, and as it was 96° out I asked for my water upon finishing my order. The manager told me that the water would be brought to me with my order. I insisted that I was fairly parch and got my water. Food came out quick and sandwich was decent. I ordered an 8 oz portion of pasta salad which was delivered as 4oz. I have learned my lesson and will patiently wait for this place to go out of business. Side note, the manager was sitting down with another individual having a beer whilst all this was going on. In his defense he did ask if I'd like a water to go when I was throwing out my trash. First time trying Groucho's Deli and it was okay, but I was hoping for better especially considering how long they've been around. I'm not saying I won't go back, but it certainly will not be high on my list. I had the Big Dipper which comes with roast beef & ham and cheese on a sub roll with "Formula 45" sauce. The sauce is some variation of what seems to be Thousand Island dressing. Chips and a pickle spear round out the plate. Groucho's deli is the place to go if you like fresh sandwiches and a good deal. Their menu is so extensive and at this point I've had something from almost every section and have never been disappointed. Their specialties are their "dipper" sandwiches which are essentially cheese melts, so good! And they are $1 off on Monday with $2 beers, a great deal. This location has a lot of local CLT craft beers for $5 everyday as well, which is more than reasonable for a local beer. They always have anywhere from 5-10 local draft selections whenever I've been in. Overall I love this deli in this location, it's a great spot to have in the Montford area and will continue to be one of my weekly go-to's for lunch and dinner. read more

I really like this place. If you know anything about their business model you might agree. A portion of their profits go to charity. That being said, I wish I could dine here more often. I like their sandwiches. They're actually pretty simple and well executed. Not the best sandwiches I've ever had, just good, quality food. The staff was extremely nice. I ordered the rueben. This was horrible. The meat had no flavor. There was more sauerkraut than there was meat. Muenster cheese instead of Swiss. Their version of thousand island dressing was soupy and not good. The rye bread was decent. The potato salad was horrendous! Not house made at all. I've been looking for a good deli so I decided to give Groucho's a try. It is very clean inside and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the STP dipper. And the sandwich was placed in front of me in less than 5 mins!! Wow! That's fast but too fast. The sandwich had to be pre-made and then it was microwaved! It was very hot but lacked any real flavor. And the bread clearly felt and tasted microwaved. And the Groucho chips must be the worst tasting chips I have ever tried. It's a little too pricey for the size and quality. read more

This location doesn't even come close to the Indian Land location - or any other Groucho's I've been to. The sandwiches are so much smaller and have less meat/cheese yet are $2 more expensive? The all Turkey STP is $7.99 in Indian Land but $9.99 at this location - and is less of a portion? I just double checked the online menu to make sure I wasn't remembering incorrectly... I take no pleasure in submitting negative reviews, but the subs and sandwiches here are simply not good. I had the STP, which people seem to really enjoy. It was in fact, really marginal. My friend ordered a different sandwich with the same opinion. I'd rather spend $12 on a sub from any of the chain sub shops, and that includes Subway. My husband and I went to Groucho's yesterday and we were excited to try it. When we walked in, it was dead quiet and the employees were all on their phones and eating pizza at the bar. When we were greeted by an employee he had headphones on(the entire time I was there). I went to wash my hands before we ate and there was no soap in the women's bathroom. Our food was mediocre at best - a basic ham and cheese on sub bread that had been microwaved. The dill potato salad was so gross I had to spit it out. No one brought us our check or checked on our table. Later yesterday evening both my husband and I had upset stomachs and we think it is the thousand island that came with our sandwiches and that it may have been bad. As a Columbia native, I was so glad when Groucho's came to Charlotte!! Such a good, feel-good kind of hoagie sandwich. The melted cheese on top makes it, but you must also dip it in the 45 sauce to get the full Groucho's experience! My husband and I pick it up at least once/week for lunch. Please try! September 30 2020, The experience I had with this place is awful. The food smelled so good but the bread was so tough like it was microwaved just to melt the cheese. Although it smelled very good but the taste is stale. The chips are flavorless. The men's bathroom are messy. The tall girl server was very nice and she took very good care of us I could tell she was new but she was very relaxed. I give all my props to her. I used to be a regular in college in sc. Sandwiches are ok but You can make it yourself for much cheaper and just get a pint of the 45 sauce and toast it instead of microwave it. Also I don't understand why this location charges $2 more than any other location of Grouchos. Maybe they believe since they are near SouthPark they can up charge people. If you add $2 then please make sure the portions reflect the extra charge. read more

I grew up eating Groucho's Deli so was very excited to see that Charlotte had one when I came to town for a wedding. It did not disappoint! The mid-east was delicious! So so good. Excellent service. The place was packed which is a good sign. The only thing I thought was weird was that we were charged for water. Only 25 cents, but still! Biggest issue with this place are the prices. Two small sandwiches, one drink and two bags of chips (basically lays potato chips) was almost $27. Seriously can go to just about any other place for dinner or lunch and get more than this for that price. I went in to order a sandwich to go. The girl working took the wrong order and gave me the wrong sandwich. Thankfully I checked before I drove away. Went back in and had to get reimbursed the difference because I sandwich I ordered was less money than the wrong sandwich I was given and paid for. The girl was super confused- I still don't think she gave me the correct change back. When I got home I realized that there was chunks of the wrong meat (from the sandwich they made first) on my corrected sandwich. All they did was scrape off the wrong meat and put the correct meat on the sandwich keeping the bun and all. I don't like that. If you made the wrong sandwich then make me a new sandwich. Don't just scrape off and plop different meat down. I really did not like finding random chunks of meat in my sandwich. This first visit left a bad taste in my mouth. read more
