i reached out to jeff regarding an attempted break in on my car. jeff came out to my car, took…read moreapart the steering wheel column to see the damage and what needed to be replaced. then he charged my dad $300 for an hour of work, again all he did was take my steering wheel completely apart. he said he charges $150 and hour, but the reason he charged my dad $300 was because the next day he was supposedly going to get the parts and he was charging the extra $150 for driving around to get the parts. i left out of town for a week and jeff had known this. when i get back into down for three days straight jeff tells me he is going to come out to my car and he would literally say "ill be out today" and would never show and not tell me he wasnt showing. he pretty much scammed my dad out of $300. i'm not sure if the job was too advanced for him because he is a mobile mechanic idk if they can't do as advanced stuff i literally don't know, but he left me hanging and i had to go somewhere else. i feel like he took advantage of my situation and my dad because i am alone in portland and im 22. my dad doesn't even live here and was being nice enough to help me. to charge someone $300 for work you didnt do is ridiculous. if your rate is $150 and you were there for only an hour then my dad should have only been charged $150 for the time you were there. i ended up taking my car to the shop, and the total repair cost at the shop was lower than the service i would've gotten from jeff. thought he tried to convince my father and i that he was cheaper. this really sucked because i am by myself and to be left hanging with no car, and lack of communication is very disheartening and scary.

He was helping another customer, but said he could get me an estimate in just a couple of minutes. As I waited I watched him take excellent care of the lady he was helping. Just a few minutes later he took a look at my car and determined it was likely salvageable, if I wanted to go that route instead of 'like new.' He tried to fix it on the spot, but it was going to take a bit more time. Then he fit me into his schedule that afternoon. I came back a few hours later and you couldn't even tell I'd tangoed with a yellow concrete pole! And the price he charged was super reasonable! Jim means well, but I think he gets busy, and can't meet the lead-times he originally states. My daughter wanted the silver OEM wheels on her Chevy Cruze Premier repainted to a gloss black, so we brought them to FWO. The end result is exactly what we wanted, and it was a lot cheaper than trying to find the factory "Redline" wheels. The paint job is high quality, and it looks really nice. The areas for improvement include communication and lead-times. Initially we were given a completion date of 2 business days, and I told them they could take 3 if needed. When I called on the third day, they told me three rims were bent, and they needed to be straightened (for additional cost). I gave the go ahead, but I think they had our wheels confused with another project, because they never added on any other charges. The wheels & car ended up being ready for pick up on the sixth business day. As stated, the paint job is great, but the tires seemed haphazardly filled to random pressure levels, differing by a few PSI from corner to corner (that was an easy fix). They all hold air just fine, though; so no worries there. I would definitely recommend the work that Jim & FWO do, but just allow a little extra time for project completion.

I'm an outdoors man - My long-bed and I have spent countless hours on washboard gravel roads. Everyone knows, these shake the hell outta your truck. I also sleep in the back of my truck and the insulated canopy they installed in 2016 has yet to leak, In fact, the insulation is still tight & fresh as it was on day 1. The overhead LED lights inside the canopy have yet to stop working. All of this speaks to their craftsmanship & quality parts. The power-steps finally gave out after a decade of use, so it was time to replace them. I was given the option between the cheaper overseas version, or the USA built version. It's nice to get price options and their expertise on the level of quality. As part of the install they noticed a cracked end cap for one of the steps. (I would have never noticed it on my own) Anyhow, they called it out, already have a replacement on the way from the factory, and when the part arrived - they were able to a do a 'while you wait' replacement. This has been my repeat experience with them, I hope you find it helpful in your decision making.

After a couple of days I was going to move the car He said if I gave him a chance to do the estimate after insurance that if I didn't like it I could move my car and there would be no storage charge. The insurance go was pressuring me to move to a network shop & after 14 days of no action I made arrangement to move it. He then held my car hostage for $3500 storage fee and $450 tow fee for a 2 mile tow that the co he recommended charged and he paid. He said insurance would pay it didn't I had to pay part so for my car to sit out in the blistering sun (caused my car magnets to meld into the car) and other things in the car to melt it was so hot, he did nothing and earned $3500, plus a hundred over what the tow company told me the bill was. That cost me over $1000 for nothing that I had to pay for the privalege of my car sitting in the sun there, insurance paid the rest. We took the car out and had Baha Autobody come look at it at the insurance lot and gave me an estimate for the insurance within 12 hrs. Baha drove all the way from Wilsonville to the airport with no charge to do an estimate. Better off going else where to someone more trustworthy like Baha Autobody!
