Ive been passing through most the coffee shops in salt lake and stumbled across Geraldine's. I…read morewould definitely recommend stopping by. Their coffee was solid but the waffles on a stick shine as a novelty that are also delicious. It's easy to love a waffle that's actually convenient to eat. If you're not specifically looking for coffee then I would definitely suggest The Szuri Slurrie that's a blended fruity lemonade. Everyone in the shop is super friendly and happy to help. The decor is clean and the view is actually fantastic. For a shop on the bottom floor you get to watch trains pass by and stare at the wasatch range. I'll definitely be passing back through, as the owner is always looking for new flavors and perfecting his craft.

I enjoyed our coffee, but what really stood out were the waffles in a stick and hospitality! We met the owner (Steve) and heard his story. Knowing the shop is in honor of his late mother, made the food even better. We were able to try 3 different waffles. As you can see in the pics, we loved them!! Can't wait to return to try the pecan waffles, soup, and grilled cheese. They also serve some kind of non-coffee frozen drink that looked really refreshing! I'd highly recommend giving Geraldine's a try!

This is by far one of my most favorite coffee shops in Salt Lake. Sadly, I live on the other side…read moreof the valley and never get over to the shop anymore. Been coming in this place for almost 12 years now and it's consistent favorite. The pastries were good. I liked them. They didn't have them in a refrigerator cage, like some absolute troglodyte. The coffee is good, but we're really get me as their staff. They're really chill. They'll talk to you a little bit. They're friendly you know they don't look like they're hating their lives by being at work. It's the kind of people you used to see coffee shops all the time. I don't know what's happened the current generation they just don't appreciate the coffee culture.

They looked pretty legit so we went and checked them out. Walking in, this joint is really neat. There's coffee bags lining the ceiling. There's a couple old chairs that you can chill at in the corner surrounded by plants. The light was shining brightly through the windows. It has a very chill, easy vibe here. We got a couple drinks ordered and a CaBreezy panini started. I got myself an iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. My sister got a hot peppermint mocha. We chilled at the 2 big old chairs while our goodies were being prepared. My drink was so good! I did add a packet of Splenda and some cinnamon to my coffee, so tasty!! I appreciate that my americano wasn't watered down. I didn't get to try my sister's drink but she said it was really good! We did share the CaBreezy panini. It was delicious! It was balanced pesto, balsamic glaze and mozzarella. The tomato was fresh and ripe. The ciabatta was warm and crispy. I probably could have had another half but we are trying to save room for dinner. It was nice chillin here for a bit. Everything was great. The barista that was working did a great job on our drinks and food. Happy I got to check out this local coffee joint on this beautiful Sunday.

I ordered the snickers in hopes it would be sweet but not overpowering. Maybe that was my mistake. I saw it and I was already nervous. The entire drink was dark brown. It looked like chocolate milk. Which idk, maybe that's what it's supposed to look like, but oh my goodness I couldn't even taste the extra shot of espresso I ordered. Literally straight hersheys syrup. So I poured half of it out, added some almond milk and it's still pretty concentrated. Idk I'm not the kind of person to veto a place for making one bad drink, but I like my coffee to taste like coffee lol. Hopefully next time I go it does! In other news, the raspberry muffin was yummy!

Immediately I liked the vibe-it's an edgy, totally local and co-created space with folks from the area. There is a bulletin board in the vestibule with fliers and posters about current events and services-totally haphazard and chaotic. Inside, there's art all over the place, unique decor and a calendar of events that look to be different support groups that meet here. How cool. This isn't a polished, bougie or uptight place. This is for real folks with real personalities and a bit of grit. And I like it. The coffee's pretty good too. ;-)
