The cinnamon roll came out very hot and it was hard. The worker was kind enough to get me a new unheated cinnamon roll. Sadly, it was hard as a rock. I don't think their pastries are fresh. Another discovery today! I was using the "Maps" app for the location of a business I was searching, and this coffee shop's name caught my attention as it was in the vicinity. What intrigued me was the name of it: "Grounds for Dismissal". When it comes to a name for a coffee shop, this is as funny and unique as it could get. This truly motivated me to go check 'em out today. 53 people have reviewed this coffee shop as of today, so I get the impression that not many people know about this place (just yet) was the impression I got. That's good because when I write a review about a place, I'd prefer people to read it so if you write a review for a business that already have (let's say) 150-200+ reviews, then your voice may end up becoming a shout into a void. Well, I may be wrong on this but anyway, I am giving this coffee shop a little shout of mine today. This place is spacious. If the weather permits, they open all the windows so this will give you nice/open feeling. I was pretty impressed with the huge food menu. If you are hungry for a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch, their extensive menu will offer you a wide variety of things to eat; you will definitely find something there. There was a picture of brownie that was posted by someone so when I ordered my double espresso, I inquired about it to the lady who assisted me (I believe her name is Carissa per another photo posted by a different Yelper). She said, "I don't bake anymore as the cost of eggs has skyrocketed." Too bad.... This shop also carries jewelry and other collectible items that appeared to be made by some local artists so it's a boutique coffee shop that serves two purposes. I like the concept! Originally found this place on a TikTok when me and my best friend were deciding where to go for our morning coffee. As soon as we walked in I was instantly attracted to everything about this place. The atmosphere, the smell, the decor, it was all very welcoming. We decided to share a slice of chocolate chip pumpkin break and pair it with iced lattes, hers with sugar free vanilla and mine with white chocolate mocha. I loved how soft the bread was and the pumpkin flavor was not overpowering at all. The first sip of my latte and I was instantly in love with the smoothness and combination of flavors. I got the matcha flight, hashbrown scramble, and the lox bagel. To start the matcha was WAY too sweet! All I could taste was the syrup. The matcha color was so light and separated. If the matcha is ceremonial grade it would not separate and be a vibrant green and not a dull brown with a hue of green. The lox bagel was ok it just wasn't a lox bagel. It had tomato, avocado with barely any capers and smoked salmon and no red onion. The hashbrown scramble had an a couple pieces of eggshell in it and had more cheese and eggs than hashbrown itself. This place has a lot of potential but service was slow. Just make sure you aren't rushing anywhere after you come here since the food situation is more of a sit down one. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and hash brown scramble, and a s'mores latte and matcha blossom latte. It took 15min for the drinks and about 25 min for the first food item. The second food item came another 10 minutes later. There were only about 6 people here when we ordered so it wasn't all that busy. The matcha was too sweet. My partner didn't really like his s'mores latte - he said it didn't taste like it had much chocolate at all. The breakfast sandwich was ok as well - I think the sausage could have been saltier. As for the hash brown scramble with bacon, it was dry and needed some sauce or something on the side. Love the hidden location, great hidden gem vibe. Big open dog friendly patio. Super friendly service! And the coffee was to die for. What a monumental disappointment. Drove 35 min from Evergreen because wife saw this on IG and wanted to try the coffee flights. We ordered one coffee flight and one order of tacos. There were 16 people in the whole coffee shop. 45 minutes and no food later, we asked for a refund, which they promptly agreed to because *our order hadn't even been started yet* After fumbling around for about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to give a refund, they gave up and gave us cash instead, so we got to add a trip to the bank on the way home. A trip to get coffee turned into a 2 hour waste of time. As a fellow business owner myself, I can tell you this place is very poorly managed and will close quickly if they don't figure out how to improve. The owner must be hemorrhaging money having employees give away free food to upset customers, and having to issue cash refunds for credit payments. Grounds for Dismissal is one the cafes in our rotation if we want a good caffeine pick me up. The baristas here are energetic and very welcoming. It's also a good spot to just hangout because they have board games and outdoor activities like corn hole. Their coffee is good hot or cold. My gf goes for their white chocolate mocha and it never disappoints. I usually go for their specials but their strawberry shortcake is really good ice! It's sweet and the coffee itself is excellent. Amazing coffee flight! Came in at 11am on a Thursday. Quiet, well lit interior. This would be a good place to work and several customers had their laptops out. There are 3 different coffee flights--chocolate lover's, seasonal (Easter), and original. We tried the original. The Nutella, white chocolate lavender, and honey vanilla chai with cinnamon cold foam were out of this world! Strawberry short cake was good though more creamy than strawberry-y (it did have a really delicious dehydrated strawberry on top). The barista was super helpful, explained the flights to us, and brought our drinks out in 5 minutes. Overall a great experience. You will not regret coming here to split a flight. So my bf and I planned a trip to Denver and found this place through tik tok after seeing their flights and decided to add out to our itinerary. We were not sure what to expect but we were met with one of our favorite parts of the trip. First of all, we ordered the French Toast Griller (apparently the best thing on the menu!) and the Valentine's Day Flights. We didn't wait long for the grillers to come out but let me tell you we are foodies and I'll never forget the first bite I took out of that amazing art of a breakfast sandwich. It was really so good. We waited about 15-20 min for the flights (they make all of the syrups in-house so we didn't mind the wait since that took a lot of effort. Korah brought the flight out to us and she was so upset that they didn't come out as aesthetically pleasing as she wanted to serve due to the almond milk (which I felt bad for ordering at this point ). I personally thought they still looked good but she would know better than me. She insisted on making us an ENTIRELY new flight. Like all 4 drinks even though only some of them were messed up. I told her she reallyyyy didn't have to but she did anyway and something about her personality and how sweet she was just made me wanna cry! I'm a sap. She brought us the new flight in about the same time we waited for the first and I saw the difference! I appreciated the effort she put in to making sure we had the best customer experience in the cafe. But that's not all folks... After making us this beautiful flight, we took our pictures and taste tested everything (AH-MAY-ZING). Then unfortunately my bf spilled half of the remade flight and it made a huge mess. Even after we literally spilled coffee on the table and carpet Korah reassured us someone's done worse and came over to clean it up (we helped bc we felt so bad but she was so sweet about it yet again.) All in all, we had an amazing experience even with a few mishaps. We talked to Korah and Carissa after and thanked them for everything and they talked about how they ran this shop with help from family and how they didn't expect their customer base to grow so quickly after going viral on tik tok. They are intentional with their craft and I assume they treat others how they are treated, which is why I truly enjoyed them. I can't wait to go back and try whatever seasonal flight they have next! This was a coffee shop I had my eye on for awhile because I heard about their coffee flight. A friend and I finally met up there and I knew I was ready to order half the menu. I did expect the shop to be more of like a restaurant style and less of like a traditional coffee shop, but it actually didn't bother me, I preferred the intimacy. I enjoyed being able to seat myself and sit down and talk without the pressure of it getting crowded. It was pretty quiet with light chatter going on throughout and the sound of food and drinks being made. I was excited to try their food however the kitchen was limited so I could only order a few specific items, none of which sounded appealing so I decided to just stick with the coffee Flight. I am a chocolate girl all the way, 99% of things chocolate I'm there. So when I saw the Chocolate Lovers Coffee flight it's like my dreams had come true. There were Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Smores, Nutella, and Almond Bliss w/ Chocolate Cold Foam drinks. My issue with the flight is that, while the drinks were tasty and I would order them individually, they didn't match up to the flavors they promised to be. The Chocolate Covered Strawberry you could taste a little bit of chocolate and the faintest amount of strawberry to the point it made the drink a bit odd instead of refreshing. I had hoped for a stronger strawberry and chocolate flavor explosion in my mouth that never came. The Nutella was chocolatey which I liked but didn't have that Nutella taste. Nutella has a distinct nutty taste due to being made from hazelnuts, all I got from this drinks flavor profile was mocha. The Smores drink had pretty much the same issue it just tasted like a deeper more chocolatey version of the Nutella drink, but no marshmallow or graham cracker flavors to punch through. (There was a graham cracker on top and I think the whipped cream might've been a marshmallow topping but that did nothing to help the beverage taste like s'mores) Lastly the Almond Bliss drink was not my favorite but I'm sure that was just due to personal preference. My friend tried all of the other drinks too, and the almond bliss was her favorite. The fact that the drinks did not match up to their names and I wasn't able to grab 2 of the food menu items I had been eyeing I did have to knock a few points off for them. However, I loved the decor, customer service, and the fact that they feature items from small businesses in the area. This place had great places to take pictures, so when I'm in the area again I would grab some coffee if I'm the mood and hopefully there will be a full menu and I can give a better rating. read more

Coffee Flight lived up to the hype (genius idea, especially for huge coffee lovers like me who love variety) ! You can pick any 4 drinks you want for the flight which was a super pleasant surprise. Flights are $25 each and definitely enough for two people. My friend and I each picked two coffees To try. I used my yelp check-in offer of a free drink for a plain black iced coffee as a palate cleanser between all the flavored drinks. Very friendly staff if not a bit stressed but having worked on that side of the house I can empathize with the sudden busyness. Congrats to them for going viral. It was extremely busy today (Saturday morning) but the staff was very transparent about the wait upfront which we appreciated (was about 40 min to order). No problem, we expected a wait since they just went viral on Tik Tok and we sat outside in the warm sun and waited for our text that we could order and grab a table. Food and drinks were delicious and I think with a few more staff and a system for delivering food/drinks such as with table numbers or utilizing the texting system they used to let us know a table was ready they'll be better equipped to handle the crowds and rocking and rolling again in no time. I didn't want to ding them for being popular and for us having to wait so 5/5 for friendly staff, clean environment with lots of room, and delicious drinks. We seen this place on a tiktok and we were excited to try it but we left extremely disappointed. We ended up getting the seasonal coffee flight and Changa latte. The latte was delicious but the coffee flight was disgusting. I've had multiple coffee flights from various small coffee shops and this was definitely not it. The flights were huge and they were the sweetest flights we've ever had. Usually a flight indicates smaller portions. On top of that, the flight itself was $30!! We live in Chicago and we've never paid that much for a flight of coffee. Ours friends got the same flight as we did but with almond milk and theirs tasted sweeter. Not sure how that's even possible. When they went to the employee up front, they stated "they made them the exact same way" and even seemed bothered that my friend said something. They ended up giving an additional shot of espresso in one of the drinks my friend picked but it really didn't too much. They also said that we could have asked for it "half sweet" but we just wish they would have warned us prior to us ordering them instead of saying something after the fact. I wish we would have read more of the reviews prior to visiting this place. The owners responses to negative reviews are so passive aggressive. It seems like they can't take any criticism. In one of their responses, they stated that their flights were for and I quote: "Starbucks white girl sweet coffee drinkers, as that's a majority of the population nowadays,". I've never been so disgusted by a small business owner's response. If you only wanted "Starbucks white girls" to be customers to your establishment, you should say that. I am a Starbucks drinker who also happens to be white but that flight was disgusting and their "Starbucks white girl" comment is even more sickening. I really hate leaving negative reviews but this place deserves it. Hopefully the owners get a clue and learn how to take some criticism without responding aggressively.
