As we walked in there was a bar and kitchen area that snaked along on wall and there were a couple coffee lounge areas for sitting, eating/drinking, studying, working, etc. the decor was trendy and unique. It felt like an artsy spot, and I could have sat there all day They have pastries as well as other hot food. Their panini's were delicious. I also really enjoyed their blueberry muffin. Corner coffee shop in Old town. They have an outdoor area to bring along your pups and welcome dogs inside while ordering. The bagels were really fresh and fluffy, highly recommend. The staff was very friendly and quick with service. The reason for a 4 star is we felt the cold brew tasted more like iced coffee and was quite bitter. The espresso was bitter and robust in flavor. Cute little coffee shop in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. You wouldn't even know it was there. You blink and you could easily miss it. I joined a friend of mine here for a quick cup of coffee this afternoon. I'm just a regular mocha pot/french press coffee kind of gal. So I don't really know the terminology of Americano latte frou frou boujee etc. lol But I told the girl that I'm just used to regular coffee and asked if they had heavy cream, which she said they did have on hand. A+ for that! My small cup of coffee with heavy cream came to $3.51 after tax. Not too bad I guess for Old Town prices. The coffee had a decent flavor and did not taste burned so that was a plus. I've stopped by Grounds on 2nd several times while on vacation, and it has yet to disappoint. The coffee is consistently good, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the customer service is always friendly. The only thing I wish is that they had a few pre-made breakfast sandwiches available after they stop serving breakfast at 11:00 AM. I arrived a little too late, and that would have been a nice option. The blueberry muffin was delicious and definitely worth trying. Overall, this has become one of my favorite coffee shops to visit when I'm in town, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

I love that this shop is pretty unassuming on a corner in the middle of a neighborhood. A short walk from where live. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and can recognize you after a couple months away. This day I tried the seasonal drink, Irish cold brew. I wanted a cold drink and this fit the bill. I joked with Olivia that I could've used some Baileys in the drink. She laughed and mentioned they don't have the license for that. I did get my favorite breakfast sandwich, the Smoked Salmon bagel sandwich. I love the big stack of salmon with the capers, pickled red onion and dill mayo (I think). The Americano (4/5) was nice and strong, with just the right amount of milk. The iced white mocha (3.5/5) was refreshing, but did have some hints of bitterness that are often masked in superior versions of the drink. While prices were a bit on the high side, service was friendly. Quiet neighborhood, good tunes on entertainment system. Parking a bit dicey. Didn't see parking lot. Think it's street parking only. I was lucky to find 1 handicap spot off to side. Visiting Grounds on 2nd was a win on Wednesday morning this week. Friendly staff, great setting. We enjoyed our coffees on the patio. Also tried the frittata. Its ingredients may vary based on whats on hand. Ours had fresh vegetables and mozzarella cheese. We ordered one to share, not realizing the size, and quickly ordered a second. I was looking for a quick cappuccino this morning and was curious to try out somewhere I hadn't been to before. I was able to find a parking spot right away tucked in from the street. There were several other customers in the cafe. I ordered and then perused the shelves to see the other merchandise. The cappuccino was very good. They use a brand of coffee called Mythic Goat. The coffee was tasty, they have seasonal menus, and the barista was very nice. They even have a little coffee bar station to touch up your drink with cinnamon, sugar, creamer, etc . Inside is a little store front too which is cool, but when I went it was pretty crowded and full of people studying so we didn't shop much. Checked out Grounds on 2nd for the first time this week. I had a work meeting here and this was relatively central for both of us and had been on my list - win/win! First thoughts, it was super easy to snag a free parking spot and the shop itself had ample outdoor and indoor seating. They had an impressive line up of cases filled with specialty brews, wines and bevvies galore. They also have a food menu with sandwiches, bagels, pastries and frittatas. They have lots of plants and overall just a cool vibe. They have all the classic coffee items and a specials list, which included a cinnamon cold brew and honey lavender matcha that was speaking to me! We asked the barista about them and he couldn't provide any insight, on if it was good or how it was made and sort of just shrugged when we asked his opinion. I figured the cinnamon cold brew may be a cinnamon cold foam or something of that nature, but he just told me they have real cinnamon or pump syrup. I opted for plain cold brew - can't really go wrong and did the trick! I prefer homemade syrups if I am going to order a specialty type of drink, which I think should be the standard for most coffee shapes these days, at least on their staples or special'. Next time I may give their matcha a shot, as i love a good matcha. Definitely a cool spot and great place to meet up with someone for work, or just to catch up and easily ble to transition from afternoon caffeine to evening beer or wine. read more

Great cafe, super reasonably priced, good options, the bagel and lox's is well dressed, the matcha has good flavor, they had vegan cream cheese! The staff is super nice and helpful. The patio area is great, perfect for a stop midway through my dog's daily walk. They provide pup cups which he is a huge fan of. Very dog friendly place. This place is so cute!! My husband and I love to try new coffee shops and decided to go here today. There was a line but it went quick. We got a cherry almond latte and a strawberry white mocha both were 10/10. We also got the cinnamon crumble muffin which was yummy and warmed up. I would love to come back to try more breakfast items/ lunch and some wine! We also had our dog and they have signs that say your dog can wait with you in line but then enjoy our patio with them and we loved that! I feel like I won the lotto, stumbling across this cafe, market and wine bar on my way home from work in Scottsdale. As I'm sure most of you know, South Scottsdale and Old Town have a lot of touristy and/or pricey spots and difficult-to-find parking areas, so it's been tough finding a cafe that's easy to get to and open after 3 pm with a chill, friendly atmosphere and good food and coffee. Well, this spot has it all! I almost didn't want to review it because I wanted to keep my own private cafe paradise. Alas, here I am blabbing away. Grounds on 2nd is located in a residential area surrounded by old or "vintage" '50's apartments as well as new builds, and cross streets with available parking spots. It's quiet and away from the downtown hubbub. There's a walled patio at the front entrance and picnic tables on grass along the side entrance and wall. Inside there are three distinct seating areas, and a couch with a chess board at the entrance. This spot is good for working and had a few wfh gents when I arrived. There's a long refrigerated wall of beer and drinks and a half wall of wines for purchase. Bagged locally-roasted coffee is for sale on a wall display. There's a full cafe, a grab-n-go case with food and drink, and a full deli for breakfast and lunch items, made with quality, locally ingredients like Mythic Goat Coffee and Noble Bread. There's a gender neutral restroom near the entrance for customers. Good, mellow music is playing inside the cafe. The baristas here are extremely welcoming and friendly. They made me feel instantly comfortable and welcome to stay while I had my lunch, though it was my first time here. I ordered: - Hot 12 oz. Latte (2 shots espresso) - Roast Beef Panini - Roast Beef, Horseradish, Havarti Cheese, Caramelized Onion Jam, Roasted Red Pepper, Arugula, Horseradish Cream, Pressed on Sourdough Bread, Comes with a bag of Chips - So delicious!! I must get this again I sat at the high long table along the window facing outside to the retro swimming pool scene of the apartment next door. The doors were propped open on this perfect day. Cute, hidden gem of a coffee bar in a residential area literally a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Old Town Scottsdale. I needed to get some work done and initially tried to go to Sips but they were closed today at 4pm! I fired up my Yelp app and checked Google also and this place seemed legit so I gave it a try. This is right off 69th St and tucked slightly into a residential area. I parked on the street and walked in. Once inside, it's a community oasis. Lots of people inside having coffee, beer, working. Barista was very nice and welcoming. I ordered a 12 oz iced latte with oat milk with some caramel. Total came to under $10 with tip. I sat outside and batista brought me my drink. Wifi available and lots of neighbors definitely come here. Dogs are also allowed and there were some really adorable ones here. I'd definitely come back to this spot as it is low key, friendly, chill and a great spot! read more

This is an adorable establishment nestled in the residential neighborhoods near old town Scottsdale. The inside is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. They have wine, coffee, tons of different kinds of locally made beer in their fridges, as well as an extensive breakfast/deli menu. There is a ton of seating for studying or hanging out. The inside is really cozy, and the outdoor patio is also clean and spacious. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because the coffee is good, nothing particularly unique or out of this world, but really expensive... My 12 oz almond milk latte was more than seven dollars including tax. I will of course be back here for the vibes and the spacious studying options. read more

I heard about this new coffee shop/neighborhood beer and wine bar so I decided to check it out today. Upon entering I was greeted by the friendly staff who asked if I had any questions about the menu. I took a look and decided to try the Americano. I have to say, the Mythic Goat espresso beans they use may be the smoothest coffee I have ever had. I believe it is local as well. I took a look around the rest of the shop and found a great selection of craft beers, great NA beverages, and a well curated selection of wines. The place had a great ambiance with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Overall this place is a great spot to start the morning.
