After scheduling appointments with 3 different companies, we decided to go with EagleLIFT. One side of our home dropped nearly 3 inches, and cracks started to form on our walls. After getting quotes from two other companies, we were not too convinced that either of the companies were knowledgeable enough to do the job that we needed. Maybe it was that both sales guys tried to convince us that more was better. On top of that each quote we received was significantly different from the other. Once Jim Rivera the rep from EagleLIFT showed up, and spent a good amount of time explaining what was not only causing part of our house to sink, but also what we could do to prevent the other parts from sinking as well. Jim didn't try to convince us to spend more, instead he explained what we could do to minimize the risk of the other parts of our house from reaching the point of needing repairs in the future. Jim also took the time to explain why some cracks inside of our house were not a sign of our foundation crumbling, and most likely the cause of a broken post in our crawlspace. The difference in the quotes between EagleLIFT and the other 2 foundation companies was significant, but in addition to that, the way Jim explained what caused our walls to crack, in addition to his overall explanation and knowledge is why we decided to go with EagleLIFT to repair our foundation. I worked with Matthew to outline the work needed, and Eaglelift came in cheapest among a number of quotes I requested, for the same number of piers and same services. David was great and kept me in the loop while we waited for San Jose to take (way too many) months to issue the permit - not within Eaglelift's control - and, when the permit was finally issued, Christopher got my job on the schedule and started within a week. Ben was my job foreman, and he and his team of Alessandro, Victor, and Ivan were great to work with; friendly, diligent, always cheerful when I took a lot of interest in what they were doing, and Ben handled the complications of my job in an extremely thoughtful and safety-conscious manner, actually reducing the cost of my project without any reduction in the quality of the outcome. My home had two corners that had dipped, one over 3" and the other a little less, so 16 piers were installed up to a depth of 61 feet, lifting the two corners as well as stabilizing my home for many years, then urethane injection under the lifted slab to fill the void. Despite the complications of unusual caissons under the foundation, gas lines and other sub-surface obstacles, and a section of foundation under a large sliding glass window that needed a large section of steel to brace it properly, the job was completed in 12 days, including replacing concrete that was cut out and total site cleanup. Foreman Chris Hardy, and crew Nic, Martin, Geff, and Van did a great job raising and making our home level. Chris Hardy was extremely patient and explained everything beforehand, as well as during the process he checked in with us & followed up with us at the end of each day. Although the engineer said we would need 18 piers, we had difficulty getting a lift in one area. Chris worked with us on our possible options. We all agreed we'd need another pier to get the lift we needed and it worked out great. They also did polymer injections around our home & in the garage. The entire time being very conscientious about the placement & amount used. While here, they addressed the work we had done previously which was still under warranty. Chris is very knowledgeable & went the extra steps necessary to be sure that we were pleased with our results. Chris and his entire crew are extremely hard workers! A few nights even staying until 6:30 or later. (Tomorrow is the cleanup day & we anticipate no issues there.) We highly recommend EagleLift. We have a house with a slab foundation that was built on fill in 1950. The front of the house was lower than the back of the house by several inches making it impossible to lock our door from the house to the garage as well as causing some cracks in the drywall, the molding around our laundry room window and cracks in the tile. Darren Breen from EagleLIFT did a thorough assessment of our home, answered all our questions and kept us up to date on the process of getting the necessary permits, engineers and work completed. Eagle Lift did the original encapsulation under our house several years ago. When we found out it needed regarding, they sent a team, Chris Hardy and Martin Guerra, to assess and fix it. They were an outstanding team and in addition to regarding the spots necessary (for free!) they also noted the house needed a second sump pump which they also installed in the course of one afternoon. They were both very professional, answered all my questions and did the work and left the house in better shape than when they arrived. I highly recommend this team and the entire EagleLift company. Marina in the office was super patient with scheduling the re-work, which because of conflicting schedules (mostly on my end), it took 15 months to get scheduled -- she followed up every time she had an opening with a crew nearby usually only to find out that I could not make that timeframe. Can't say good enough good words especially on Jim Rivera, who came to inspect on our home. We've been noticing the cracks between the wall and the floor that got more noticeable. Jim was courteous, efficient, and timely in his appointment coming to inspect our house. He was very detail in his explanation when he measured the level of each corner of our house, and took pictures on our crawling space. With his vast knowledge, and as he suspected it wasn't a foundation problem, but it was a few posts that got tilted and old, and needed a different general contractor to help us fix the issue. Highly recommend Groundworks. The service was professional, courteous and efficient. We had water leaking through the subterranean walls of the garage that required 3 days of work. They were always punctual and patient when explaining the process of repairs which is really appreciated as they were careful to provide extra detail for us laymen. Roger went above and beyond. Since they were working in the garage, they noticed our garage door made excessive noise upon opening and closing. They applied lubrication to the dry metal rollers to help mitigate the friction. This was not in their purview so we are especially grateful for their extra work. I had Eagle Lift perform a "poly-foam" injection underneath a block house structure, and they did a great job!! The crew (Jason, Joe, James and Alex) were hardworking and entirely professional the whole time. Given the difficulty in identifying the locations of existing underground utilities, they were very diligent and careful about protecting them in place. We ran into several snags so the job took longer than expected, but I was never charged for the additional time and labor. They were very informative and open about the process, and I learned a lot. I was on site with them the entire time and they were very supportive and easy to work with. I believe that they effectively stopped the setting under the building. He introduced self with his business car . He took a detailed history from me and then spent about 2 hours examining all areas of the house and the foundatio.
