Two words: "Queso burger" This burger was such a gooey mess that I had to eat it with a (plastic) knife and fork. Only thing I regret is not seeing if I could have had it with jalapeños. Oh my gosh, this place has some of the best burgers I've ever eaten anywhere. The bacon cheeseburger on the sourdough jalapeño bun is to die for, add your corn nuggets and housemaid chips with queso and you have died and gone to heaven. And the prices are amazing. Thanks grumps read more

BEST BEER in the Land! ULTRA FROSTY MUGS! $3.25 for the big daddy schooner. Their burgers were good, I got the bacon burger which the **Bacon is Very Spicy.** But I was okay with it. Next time no bacon though. The bun was probably one of the best I've had and the meat was very good too. Fries were a thicker cut which I usually stray away from, but they had plenty of seasoning which made em better than I thought. Onion rings...eh I wasn't a fan really. The batter was thick and they just were lacking IMO. Man this place has love and care. Everyone is trying their best and you are going to feel really great when you eat here. This is what a burger joint is supposed to be like. The food, service and atmosphere are near perfect. Went back a second time and had the grilled chicken sandwich on jalapeño sourdough bread and I do believe it's the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. read more

Late lunch yesterday after a visit to Fossil Rim in Glen Rose. All of our burgers were AMAZING! Burger no bun with bacon for the big teen, queso burger for the smaller teen, grilled chicken sandwich burger for myself. Onion rings and fries for all. YUMMMM! We stopped while on a short road trip. It was an off season time and out of regular rush hour dining times. We were able to get in quickly, order right away. And served promptly. It is a fun experience with entertaining decorations. There was a good choice of burgers and they accommodated our special cooking levels. You order at the counter an server your own drink. Tasty onion rings and sweet potato fries. If you don't stuff yourself or drink too many beers, you can go out back for a game of Pickleball. It was COVID restriction time and they had dine-in based on restrictions. May as well eat a few peanuts while you wait for your order. read more

My husband and I ordered cheeseburgers and onion rings to go. We ate in our car because we're still social distancing. The burgers were perfection, the meat tasted fresh, and was well made. The lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles were fresh too. The onions rings were a generous portion of heaven. Golden crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside. It reminded us of the great burgers and rings you could get in the 1950's. We will be coming back again! read more

We really enjoy good BBQ. We were not disappointed! Massey's is located on the highway between Glen Rose and Granbury, adjacent to the golf course. The building is decorated with pages that kids colored. There's an arcade. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The live music takes place in the outdoor seating area. I ordered the Massey Mess with pulled pork. It's a frito pie with delicious BBQ. The serving is massive. My wife had the loaded baked potato with brisket. She couldn't finish hers either. Both dishes were delicious. The meat was tender and full of flavor. All the ingredients were fresh. The service just couldn't be beat, beginning with the owner. Todd Massey himself greeted us as we came in and gave us a warm welcome. He answered all our questions about the menu. How often does THAT happen? The serving staff is sweet, friendly, and attentive. We never had to wait. They brought our food to us and checked on us often. Free refills on drinks. The music venue is very family friendly and roomy. There are fans on the perimeter and ceiling fans to keep everyone comfortable. The lighting was great and the sound of the band was too. There are ample clean bathtrooms. We sat there on a Saturday evening eating delicous BBQ and listening to good music. There were kids playing in the grassy area behind the pavillion. Couples got up and danced to their favorite songs. There was a nice breeze blowing. In the distance you can see the golf course. Folks, it just doesn't get much better than this. Upon arrival, we got a great parking spot and headed into an uncrowded restaurant. We were met immediately and taken to a table against the far wall. Menus delivered quickly, and finding out we had never been to this location, our waitress gave us plenty of time to review the options. Asked about what she would recommend, she said it was all good. We ordered an appetizer called Wagon Wheel. It's a fried cheese wheel of cheddar, gouda, and parmesan. It's sprinkled with bacon, green onions, and has a dollop of jalapeno cream cheese in the middle. It sort of looks like a thin pizza. We all loved it! The restaurant is kind of a gourmet burger place and everyone besides me ordered that. I saw that they offered a country fried wagu steak, and I ordered that. It came with garlic cream potatoes, honey-bourbon baked beans, and a cornbread pancake. The food came out quickly and was just as everyone ordered. The others in the party enjoyed their food, and I really, really, really liked mine (I would order again). The only complaints were about the seasoning. It seemed like the chef forget it on all of our meals. The only other complaint had to do with the extreme heat in the guy's restroom. Will I return? I will if we are back in Stephenville visiting and anyone suggests going out to eat:)
