The two guys that run that shop know everything about Harley Davidsons. I've never been turned away for repairs and when the jobs done, it's done with pride! My bike runs and looks great thanks to California Choppers.

Ron knows what he's doing! Took it in for a tune up and oil leak and some custom work.

The business is about as old school SF as you could hope for; an honest breath of fresh air. They are fair with their prices, deliver high quality work, and have always been kind and gone out of their way to finish repairs quickly and explain the process involved. Christina (hope I remembered her name correctly) is incredibly organized and communicative. On my last visit, Danny (one of the technicians) really went the extra mile on my behalf. Highly recommend!

Upon picking up my bike the mechanic was trying to push more services which was odd because what he was pushing had just been done. Then on my trip home my storage box fell off my bike on the freeway, so I went directly back to the shop, they immediately got defensive and tried to blame me or my installer. When I asked for the owner it was deflected claiming he lives out of state. They took no responsibility. I would have at least taken an apology or sorry for putting you and or the public in danger. Lastly, I originally had my two tires replaced, very costly compared to other spots, but testing out the bike, it is shotty work. It doesn't feel balanced and feels shaky and slick. Im gonna have to take it somewhere else to get it looked at cause I definitely dont trust these mechanics. The shop seems okay, this is strictly about the mechanics and the work they've done. Another odd thing that really stuck out to me was how exact the timing was on the finished work, 1 1/2 hours... and I mean exactly. I do not recommend coming to this place, you will end up feeling unsafe, feel like you got ripped off and if something going wrong, it's your fault. I had to go to a different place and spend another 100 to get a new storage box and will be spending more to have someone look over the sloppy work this place has done. They dont care if you get killed out there, there take is, it wasn't them.

I first reached out to them about my leaking fork seals, and I had the pleasure of speaking with Shawn. He told me I could bring my bike in for a quick inspection, so I stopped by and they took a look at it and gave me an estimate. From the beginning, Shawn was transparent about the pricing, what work needed to be done, and what I would be paying for. Before coming here, I had gotten quotes from other shops, and TokyoMoto's price for replacing my fork seals was significantly better. I was so happy with the price and how they treated me that I decided to have them replace my chain as well. Obviously, adding another service increased the original estimate, but everything was explained clearly and there were no surprise charges. I had seen a previous review mentioning unexpected or last-minute charges, but that was not my experience at all. Shawn was very straightforward about their pricing and what each charge was for. I always felt like I knew exactly what I was agreeing to. They were also fantastic with scheduling. Since my motorcycle is my daily commuter, they worked with me to find an appointment that wouldn't interfere with my schedule. Luckily, I ended up being able to bring it in on one of my days off, and everything worked out perfectly. The whole crew at TokyoMoto was friendly, responsive, professional, and transparent throughout the entire process. My bike came back riding great, and I genuinely appreciate the work they did. They've definitely earned my trust, and TokyoMoto will be one of the first places I call whenever my bike needs service in the future.

Shortly after, my bike was still stalling. I called them back and spoke with the owner, Shawn, who wanted to make it right and personally came out to my place and kept my bike for a few weeks to try and replicate the situation. The entire time he had it, he would give me updates. As it turns out, it was just me being a noob and not using the fuel reserve correctly. Shawn was very helpful and professional throughout the whole interaction; I was only charged for the cost of fuel. This kind of customer service is almost unheard of, and I will not be buying/ servicing a motorcycle anywhere else. I cannot recommend them enough!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about SFMOTO--especially Dave B!…read more I have a 2013 Lance Cali Classic 125cc scooter that had been sitting in a garage for about 10 years. She badly needed a tune-up, new tires, and a new battery. I called scooter shops all over San Francisco, but everyone turned me down because of the scooter's age or because they now service only electric scooters. I was at the end of my rope and honestly thought I would never find anyone willing to help me get her back on the road. Then I remembered SFMOTO on 8th Street. Years ago, I purchased my first motorcycle helmet, shoes, and gloves there while taking motorcycle classes, but I didn't realize they also repaired scooters. I was so happy to learn that they are a Lance distributor and service Lance scooters! Dave B was my service representative, and he was amazing from the beginning. He has such a great personality and genuinely understood how much getting this scooter running again meant to me. Although the shop normally doesn't accept vehicles over 10 years old, Dave looked at me and said, "I can't say no. I can see how much you want to ride your scooter, and I love your passion. I'm going to say YES!" And he did! SFMOTO fixed my scooter, and now she purrs like a kitten and is ready to ride into the sunset! I am so happy and excited to ride again. I truly believed no one in the city would help me, but Dave found a way to say yes when everyone else said no. Thank you, Dave B, for seeing how much this meant to me and for helping bring my scooter back to life. I love SFMOTO so much that I ended up buying another helmet, and I will definitely be back. Thank you, Dave B--you ROCK!!!!!

Took my bike for its first service here (and generally my first experience at a moto service shop), and got to interact with this side of the shop now. Freddie is an awesome guy and helped me get my service scheduled and kept me informed throughout the process. Both break-in service and some additional accessory install that I requested were done, and I'm happy with the work. I'll definitely be back here for my future motorcycle needs! Edit 7/11: rental #3 done! Honda Rebel 500 this time around, really great machine to ride! I love that this one came equipped with a wind deflector which helped with comfort riding on the freeway. Definitely nicer having the parallel twin over the single, really enjoyed my ride! As always, it's a pleasure to interact with my favorite people at the store. Nini, Henry, Freddie, Anthony, the whole crew... yall are awesome! I'm happy to have a preferred local motorcycle shop in the books. Looking forward to giving them my business when it's time for servicing my own bike -- Edit 6/20: rental #2 done! Honda Rebel 300, perfect bike for a beginner with short legs. Again what a great experience interacting with an all-star team. Nini, Henry, Freddie, it always feels good to be at the shop and interact with them. Really great people to talk to, I've learned so much from them talking through my ride, what I've learned and could improve on, and generally just progression with my motorcycle journey. Being a returning customer, you do get discounts on the base rate, and I'm looking forward to my third one I'm planning for next month! -- 5/24: I'm editing and reposting my 5-star review with way more details now that I have firsthand experience of renting a motorcycle from there, and just how blown away I was by the overall experience. tl;dr -- local area intimidated total beginner squid had a very good overall first experience renting a moto and getting on the road for real As a brand new rider fresh off my M1 endorsement, I came in more nervous than I'd like to admit. Nini at the front desk was absolutely perfect for the job imo: compassionate, reassuring, and exactly what a first-timer needs before throwing a leg over a bike for the first time for real. Freddie and Henry were great too, really easy dudes to talk to and very helpful with sharing tips and other pointers for me. I'll be honest, I dropped the bike an equal number of times on both sides over the weekend, all at zero mph (embarassing af). Symmetrically bruised ego, perfectly balanced. Returning it felt intimidating, but the whole team handled it with zero judgment and genuine professionalism. I didn't try to hide anything and they made the whole process painless, albeit with some monetary penalties caused by my inexperience (I own up to this though). I'm leaving with my wallet lighter but with my heart genuinely fuller for the experience. The environment this shop creates for nervous beginners like me is genuinely rare, and it made me feel supported and motivated to come back and do better next time. Will absolutely be back for my next rental and keep getting ride time in, because real experience gained like I did is priceless. The human element of the shop is just cherry on top, and makes me feel good I'm supporting a local business. Shoutout to Nini, Freddie, and Henry. You made a squid feel welcome.

About a week later, Alfie reached out with some honest recommendations, including changing my tires which I happily agreed to. His honesty and kindness are truly refreshing in today's world. Scott responded giving me the quote. After he also sent me a link to a Brembo rear rotor. I checked it and noticed the part number was different from the one I had just ordered, the day before, from Italy. I Googled it and apparently the part I bought was incorrect and the one Scott had sent was the correct part number! I immediately panicked and luckily was still able to cancel my previous order of the incorrect rear rotor! Phew! That was a close call! Would've been stuck with it if it had already shipped out from Italy. Scott did not have to send me a link to the correct part number but by him doing more than he needed to, he saved me a big headache. That would have been the time to inspect the piston rings, the cylinder bores, etc., and advise me if something was wrong and what the parts and labor would have cost while everything was already apart. That never happened, unfortunately. Now the same inspection and replacement would cost thousands in new labor. 2) Worse, is at a later service, they bled the clutch fluid, and reassembled the clutch master cylinder reservoir badly causing it to leak when I went home. The fluid dribbled on the fairing paint and caused it to bubble. I emailed them about this and they never responded.
