    ows a menu for burritos

Wow... This place was not good. Bagged chips that were stale and basically crumbs. Frozen guac. My food was cold. My wife's salad was awful and included items that weren't listed that she happened to be allergic to... Apparently anyone can open a restaurant nowadays... Obvious just tourist trap garbage that they don't expect you to remember next year...

I got a Carnitas Bravas an Shorties Taco with some chips and guacamole. New England is far from known fo authentic Mexican food. This was a solid good meal.

My boyfriend and I concluded our Maine road trip by stopping at the nostalgic York beach on our way home. Everywhere had a wait so we decided to try this restaurant. Mistake. The bar tender practically ignored us the entire time, it was nearly 10 minutes before we were even greeted by her- the place was not even busy. We went long periods of time without her even looking over to our end of the bar. A waitress had come take our order for us. We are both servers and are very patient/understanding with fellow industry workers- but this was insane. Drinks were OK, just ok. It was impossible to get any workers attention, waitresses were blatantly sitting on their phones, they were standing around talking, just not doing their job. Staff was young, which is fine but there was nobody in charge it seemed. Sitting with your food in front of you and not having silverware is pretty frustrating, especially watching the workers ignore you. When I came in there were dirty plates at the end of the bar.. they stayed there my entire visit.. two new parties had came and left & the dishes were not cleaned up... I wanted to do it myself. The food was bland. Little to no flavor, extremely long wait time (place wasn't even busy). I don't mind waiting for my food, as long as it's food worth waiting for. (The refried beans were terrifying, we both left this restaurant hungry). The thing that REALLY ruined this experience though- was disturbing. A woman (I presume the dishwasher?) was repeatedly bringing dishes/plates out of the kitchen. I look over at one point and she's holding the part of the fork our MOUTH goes on. I look again the next time she comes out and she's scratching her arm.... WITH FORKS.... THEN PUTS THEM WITH THE CLEAN SILVERWARE. I am not exaggerating and I wish I could pull up camera footage. Disgusting, we asked for the check immediately. This experience put a damper on the end of a great vacation. If the service was good, we probably wouldn't be so upset. There is much opportunity for worthy restaurants in that location, there's also opportunity to make some great cash as a server/bar tender- too bad these workers are not taking advantage of that. If you see a review higher than one star... there had to be a different staff working.

We stopped by here post-dinner to grab some drinks to conclude the night, so this review won't be about the food! I had their strawberry lemonade cocktail which was okay! It tasted mostly of lemonade- its tartness was one of the more prevalent flavors. I couldn't really taste the strawberry at all! The boozy component of the drink makes itself known a few sips in, so it definitely sneaks up on ya. The Coke and Rum cocktail, however, was a miss. It tasted like extremely watered down coke... and it was also salty?! :- ( Echoing some of the other reviewers, the service here wasn't the best- the hostess didn't seem friendly. Our waitress was nice but seemed eager for us to leave!

We found this place during a rainstorm in York and thanks to their large overhang, we were still able to dine outside and look out at the beach. Easily made available vegetarian options into vegan ones - and their fresh salsa Is out of this world (though not very spicy, which may or may not be a bad thing for you). They do supplement with plenty of different hot sauces. Lots of options for kids and fast, friendly service. Highly recommend for vegans in York and families -- and dining during rainstorms! The hostess happily took a great photo of us when we asked !

Save your money and do not eat at Guac N Roll. The food is mediocre and overpriced. The chips were stale and the salsa lackluster.

This weekend I took my best friend and it was perfect, even in the middle of winter. The deck is still open with plenty of space heaters and even heated seat cushions. We actually got so warm we had to peel off layers, which feels like a small miracle in Maine. The two of us love a marg & taco outing, and make a point to scope out the best of the best. We started with chips and salsa and some queso, which were the perfect kickoff. Then we ordered the street corn succotash, my absolute favorite. It's packed with flavor and topped with the most delicious, salty cotija cheese that pulls everything together. I crave that dish. We split the smoked brisket tacos and the smoked pork carnitas tacos, and both were outstanding. The meat was smoky and tender, the flavors were bold without being overdone, and every bite delivered. And the margaritas? Excellent and refreshing. Exactly what you want alongside that food. On top of all that, the staff is consistently wonderful. Every single time we've gone, our waitstaff has been charming, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. They strike that perfect balance of checking in without hovering, and they make you feel welcome from start to finish. Terlingua never disappoints. Great atmosphere, incredible food, thoughtful touches that keep you cozy even in winter, and a team that clearly cares about the experience.

So for the mains them Family Style comes with Smoked Prime Brisket, Pork Shoulder (Pulled Pork), and the Rotating Daily BBQ which for us I believe were Burnt Ends which are one of my favorites. For the side we had Mac & Cheese Cornbread w/ Honey Butter, House BBQ Sauce & Spicy Vinegar with Pickles and Salad. To start with the sides that Mac & Cheese was really good but the winner was for the the Cornbread with the Honey Buter. The 2 just paired together so well. For the mains my favorites were the Smoked Prime Brisket and the Burnt Ends. The Brisket was good., probably not in my top 3 all time but for sure a must try. The Burnt Ends were also very good. You can't always get Burnt Ends but when you can it's for sure a must. We really enjoyed Terlingua and can't thank the staff enough for working with us for this event. For sure a must stop in Portland when you have a big party. Just plan ahead because they are so helpful to work with.

When we're visiting the area for an extended period we usually get takeout from here. We haven't dined-in in a very a long time. Why four stars? We ordered from here twice during our recent visit. The first time was great. However, the second time we got takeout they forgot the verde sauce on my Husband's burrito, put my husband's queso order in a metal togo container like the one my burrito bowl came in. It was very soup and was a leaking mess by the time we got home. Not sure why it wasn't in a cup with a lid like the guac, and like it has been other times. Also, this second time I found myself chewing on a a large piece of chicken from my veggie burrito bowl - for someone who hasn't eaten animals in over two decades and had no intention of starting to do so, it was pretty awful. It was not yet crowded either time we ordered and was a weekday (around 5PM-ish). Given the first time we ordered was fine, we're thinking/hoping the missing verde sauce, soupy mis-packaged queso and chicken piece debacles were a reflection of an off evening in the kitchen. That said, next time we'll likely check our order before leaving with it.

We (parents and a toddler) arrived hungry after driving two hours and had a hard time getting his attention at times. We arrived before 6pm on a Friday but still there was a wait. Once we were seated, the server was pretty prompt and really friendly, though generally service was somewhat slow with a wait for food. We were waiting almost an hour for entrees and about to change our order to to-go because of stress with our exhausted toddler, but of course that's when the food arrived. We had to shovel it in and leave. The food was the most disappointing part. The chips are clearly not homemade. The salsa didn't have much flavor, and the guacamole was a huge letdown. It had a dull green color and very "slop" style texture (think sour cream texture, not chunky like real guac) that all pointed to store bought / not fresh. I had the chicken enchiladas, and the sides of rice (so salty) and beans (very soupy) brought down an already undesirable dish. The enchiladas were cooked nicely but far too cheesy. The green sauce was nearly tasteless, the red sauce is what made it all edible. Wouldn't ever really come back here. I wish I could say something more positive!

Menus, silverware & chips and salsa did come out quickly but we weren't there to eat. So the story begins on a snowy Sunday morning. Parking was plentiful and entering the restaurant it is nicely decorated with a Pub vibe. The menu had recently changed and the server mentioned the changes, A+ for doing this! I started off with the smoked wings. Nice smoky flavor but could use some seasoning. The maple ranch, came in the side, was deeeeelicous and saved the day. For an entree I selected the hash and eggs. Disappointing! The brisket used for the hash was stringy, unseasoned/under seasoned and had fat scattered throughout. The poached egg on top was done perfectly and infused some much needed flavor into the hash. The home fries were the only well seasoned component to the dish. Despite the uneven sizes, the potatoes were crispy outside with a tender inside and the right amount of seasoning. Toast was unbuttered with cold hard little packets to do it yourself. I appreciate the healthiness of this, but at least give room temperature butter so it can actually be spread. Overall a disappointing experience and certainly not the highest quality BBQ proteins which I expected to shine. Service was great but otherwise I don't think I'll be back.
