It was terrible. Low quality food. The service was the only thing good about it. Here is a picture of the chicken tacos that we ordered. Waste of $$

Taste of Maine Fantasia (Pasta with lobster and scallops)

Had a great time here twice with a large group sitting outside. Had a nice view of the nubble light and the staff was all very friendly. The food came out very quick and was good. I got the taste of Maine fantasia which was posts with lobster and scallops and it was very very good. My wife got the baked Haddock which she also said was very good. Everyone seemed to like their food which is why we came back a second time.

This is an amazing place for lunch. The Lobster Roll was scrumptious (get it hot w/butter). Great views from upstairs. Our waiter was tremendous. Highly recommend!

After doing the research and asking locals the recommended dinner house was Fox's. The lot was full, but we were able to get a window seat in less than 15 minutes. This place looks like it's a seaside restaurant. Just enough decor to make it feel real. We ordered our drinks to give everyone time to scouted menu. Great assortment of seafood dishes and combinations of items. Our table had the fried lobster tails which was the first time I've seen them on a menu and they were tender and tasty. Another person ordered the lobster Mac & cheese. Huge portion of creamy and lobster loaded goodness. We also had a lobster roll which was packed with tender and moist lobster. The restaurant is across from the Nubble Lighthouse (pretty famous spot). All in all great meal and drinks!

The views here are really amazing and I wish it had been a nicer day! We both got clam chowder and it was decent, but not the best. The crackers were a little stale but we didn't know until we poured them in! So test one just in case. I got the lobster scampi and was a large pint of lobster and tasted pretty good! Garlic bread was good too. My husband got the lobster roll and it was a little lacking and he did find a small piece of shell. The waitress never came by after she dropped the food so we didn't say anything. Service was very lacking and turned us off.

Was visiting Nubble Lighthouse and needed a little snack- so we went to the walk up and order window from Fox. Got the Lobster roll and it was really good- butter and warmed. Overall it was good !

Fox's Lobster House is a seasonal lobster shack, seafood restaurant and ice cream parlor that opened in York, Maine in 1966. It was founded by the Fox Family, which included Bob Sr., Tilly, and their son Bob Jr. The land located next to Nubble Lighthouse has been home to a restaurant since 1936. At that time, a small, rustic lobster pound with an inside dining room that seated 40 people was built by Frank and Annie Coupe. It was originally known as "Coupe's Lobster Pound." By 1950, the restaurant had been purchased by Edward and Dorothy Brown who renamed it "Brown's Lobster Pound". More owners would come and go before the Fox family purchased the restaurant. The Foxes made a number of additions and renovations to the property over the years. Bob Jr. later married a waitress at the restaurant named Phyllis. The couple eventually bought the restaurant from Bill Sr. and Tilly. After Bob Jr. and Phyllis divorced in 1986, Phyllis took ownership of the business by herself. Today, Fox's Lobster House is well-known for their delicious lobster rolls, seafood dishes, homemade Maine blueberry pie, and ice cream. The restaurant operates from late April through mid October. My family and I recently visited Fox's Lobster House this summer while we were spending the week in York. After taking some pictures of the beautiful Nubble Lighthouse, we headed over to the restaurant to grab some dinner. We sat at a table outside on the patio. My wife and I both had our own "Fox's Favorite Lobster Roll" (fresh lobster tail and claw meat gently tossed with mayonnaise, served in a toasted New England style sandwich roll) while our sons shared a "Basket of Baby Shrimp, Chicken Tenders & Chips". Everyone was very happy with their meal choices. We were also planning to order some ice cream for dessert, but a bird that landed on a nearby power line caused a blackout to the whole Nubble Lighthouse area. Fox's had no choice but to close down without electricity. Either way, we really enjoyed the excellent seafood at Fox's and we highly recommend them to visitors to York!

Fox's Lobster House 9-6-25 We had to stop by this Lobster House for the Lobster. The lady that greeted us at the front was very friendly and answered any questions we had about this place as it was our first time there. She stated you want to sit upstairs as the views were much better. The views from upstairs were spectacular with the ocean and Lighthouse in the background just amazing. They do have an outside patio for dining which is rather large with shading for all to enjoy that kind of atmosphere. Now let's get to the food. I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder, and my wife ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque for appitizers. We both ordered the Fox's Favorite Lighthouse Our Dinner which had 1.5-pound Lobster, Corn on the Cob with Baked Potato. Our soup came out first, it was hot and very tasty, mine was packed with clams. This had to be the best New England Clam Chowder I ever had. In fact, it was so good I did not want to share it with my lovely wife. She stated her Lobster Bisque was fantastic also. The Corn on the Cob and Baked Potato was also good, but the star of the dinner was the Soup and Lobster. Everything was hot, tasty and with the great service provided by Stella we just loved this place, and my bet is you will also. You must stop by here not only for a great dinner but the spectacular views and a visit to the Lighthouse right next door. If I could give this place 6 stars I would but I will give it 5 stars and a +. + Follow Me For More Reviews & Fun. Gulf Coast Terry

Decided to try Fox's Lobster House before viewing the Nubble Lighthouse. Very cute restaurant with outdoor dining, but we opted for a window seat inside. Amazing view of the oceanfront. Our meals were delicious. I chose the crab cakes with their homemade onion rings and my husband had fish and chips. The onion rings were some of the best I've ever had. Our server Jenna was very attentive and took great care of us. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Lobster roll and lightly fried clam strips were outstanding. Highly recommend but this is on the expensive side. View is unbelievable! Check it out, but don't cheap out!

Spectacular lunch with free parking so I didn't drive around like an idiot waiting for light house parking. Good lobster and hot dogs

No big deal, I was a party of one, and they were quite busy on the Saturday night that I went. Service is impeccable, really no complaints there. The food came out fast, even though they were quite busy. The food was great as well, though I wasn't a particularly big fan of the wood-fired beets (if you like horseradish on beet, you would like them). Fried oysters were great, I mean really good. Spaghetti with guanciale is absolutely incredible; key lime pie similarly amazing. Overall, I'll be back here. Plan to spend at least $50 per person. What a great location.

We understood it would be a limited holiday brunch menu instead of the regular dinner menu, which was fine. However, by the time we sat down to order, almost all of the options were already sold out. Our entire table basically had to order the exact same thing because there was nothing else left. The space is lovely and it's a nice spot for a regular dinner, but they were definitely not equipped for the holiday rush. Don't go for Mother's Day.

We were sat in a dimly lit corner, which we switched but caused a big ruckus. The front of house staff approached us and actually asked if we had a reservation, and how we got sat there and if we just walked in...it was a tad odd to be questioned but I think it was a miscommunication amongst staff. After that, we settled in, grabbed a drink and ordered some mussels (with cream), two orders of scallops and a blueberry pie for dessert. The mussels were very good, honestly our only critic was more bread! They can always serve more bread with steamed mussels so people can sop up as much liquid as possible! The scallops were definitely the star and I highly recommend them. You get 5 large scallops with a gorgeous crust, soft potatoes all sitting on a delicious corn and bacon sauce. Really, this is a must have when visiting. Last, our blueberry pie was great! Those fresh Maine blueberries were so sweet on the side, it really perked up the dish! Overall we loved the food, but the ambiance suffered from some other guests. There was a large party sat behind us with multiple kids. They scream, they ran around, they threw stuff....and the staff did not seem to care. The family themselves didnt seem to care! They enjoyed their meal and let the kids do their own thing. Once they party got their bill and left, at least 3 tables (including us), all breathed a sigh of relief and we all bonded over the craziness of the last 25 minutes. I wish the staff would've controlled the room a bit more as we know they were fine approaching us about changing seating. But I digress! The food was worth the stop and we would definitely come again!
