I got jerk chicken in my bowl with lettuce pico de gallo cheese and fajita peppers with the avocado ranch sauce and chimichurri sauce on the side. Delicious the jerk chicken isn't spicy but has a nice kick nothing crazy ! The birria chicken tacos were ridiculously delicious lol the chicken was spicy but in a good way that it carries the flavor . It comes with birria sauce on the side also good ! The food is 2nd rate. If you think you found an easy equal or alternative to chipotle think again. You didn't. The service is bad just a bunch of Arab guys who don't seem happy about helping you. Firstly, you really need to know what to expect when you are on your way to this place. It's not exactly ideal to drive to for a sit down meal, although that is an option. This is a takeout or order delivery kind of a spot. It's usually Smokey like a bar from the 1990's, people in and out, not super comfy seating or waiter service. However, their food is absolutely delicious. The meat quality is superb. Doesn't touch chipotle, I don't know *how* people can say they'd rather go there in the reviews. That's truly absurd and ridiculous. All the guys that work there are super cool and know a ton of their customers by face if not name. As I write this, uber eats has almost everything from this place on a buy one get one free deal. *HOWEVER* they are *NOT* cheap. Whether it's a bowl or a burrito or whatever, there's a base price of about $12 or so.. but then you pay extra for whatever meat you choose. I think this is a silly kind of weird bait and switch, but it's likely because they use quality meat. Plus of course the guac is extra. Honestly this one thing is the only reason they don't get 5 stars from me. Their spicy cheese sauce without a doubt absolutely must have some sort of addictive drugs in it because I think about it every time I feel hungry. It is very delicious for the type of food it is, no questions. They're always busy, they're open late, they're friendly, they're have that local community almost like a barber shop vibe.. and lastly, when you're on Staten Island and you've finally become tired of Italian food(pizza included) there aren't really that many options for fast and relatively well priced food that's quick and can be for on the go. If you remember the OG Venga, then you'll get what I'm saying. Once Venga became the Burrito Spot or whatever it was called, it was completely trash. Then the food truck by Alfonso's popped up and was great. Now? They fell off BIG time. The food was borderline disgusting. The Dominican spot close by is awesome as well but I said what the heck lemme give this place a shot. Chain or no chain, this place is the best in this area right now. Unless I'm GOING to the Catina by Joe & Pats, this is hands down the best right now. I got the Loaded Nachos with Ground Beef and Steak. When I get the EXACT SAME ORDER from the truck close by? All I get is grizzle and unseasoned ground beef. Guac Time is where it's at right now. The pieces of steak were just right (I can't expect wagyu tender if you know what I mean) and SEASONED. The ground beef was moist and SEASONED. No disrespect to the Tortuga Truck, but I feel maybe they don't have the capacity to crank out what a full kitchen can because this food has been excellent. This restaurant is great and has halal food; however, it is frustrating to place an order. You can use DoorDash, Uber Eats or their website but keep in mind, different items are offered in each site. If you call, you cant place an order over the phone. Uber Eats offers crunch wraps but only if you buy 2, their website doesn't have crunch wraps on the menu, and on Door Dash they go by the name Taco's Mexican Grill which is "temporarily closed)" on the website. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I ordered a Birria quesadilla and when I was eating it I bit into a piece of tape. I called the restaurant and they told me they would remake my food, but I also asked for a refund which they agreed to. Once I got there they refused to give a refund. This was extremely frustrating since I don't live close by and drove back there. They told me "the shift has closed so they cannot do that " when they were in fact, still open. I've worked in the restaurant industry before and I am disgusted with how they treat their customers. Overpriced food, almost choked on a piece of tape and wasted my time and money. This review is for the catering that I ordered through toast 2 days in advance for a party. I've ordered catering from here at least 4 times since they opened. The order was never ready for pick up at the time requested from past experience. Knowing how they operate, I tried calling since 11am on the day of pick up but nobody answers. I tried calling 30 mins before pickup and still nobody answers. Finally, when someone answered (after the tenth time), the person blames me for ordering too far in advance. A tip was included but there were no accountability or any way of compensating for the bad service. Instead, they blame the customer. I hope they improve. Sadly, we will not order from here again. They had a BOGO on a few items. Code the burrito. You can choose what you want in it from proteins to extras, but they do cost on some of the items, especially the proteins. These burritos are huge definitely shareable if you're not a big eater or at least two meals. However, I don't usually get rice and things because I'm not a big rice eater however, the other person that was eating it asked that we get some Mexican rice in it and I did and being the BOGO one you need to get the same burrito, but I found it to be mostly rice and not a ton of meat. There was a cilantro in the lettuce, but the rice is over abundance. Then I ordered a queso cup and some chips and a guac and chips over with the chips and both guacamole was delicious And the queso was delicious. However, it was a little bit runny. The only downfall with this place is is very pricey, even with the BOGO a cup of guac a cup of queso and a bag of chips, which wasn't even whole bag. It was like maybe a quarter of a bag Was like $42 so if I had to pay for the other burrito, would've been somewhere in the 60s, 5060s, but other than that, I would suggest eating there I've been into the guac time.
