Hubby and I went to a wedding and the ceremony took place at Guadalupe Wedding Chapel in downtown Los Angeles. Parking wasn't fun, especially wearing heels. The parking lot is a public lot so it's open for everyone. It's about a block or two away from the chapel itself. Walking on the uneven pavement in the lot and the sidewalk with red bottoms was not enjoyable. When we arrived to the chapel itself was small and cute I guess. Seating was open and you can sit anywhere. The decorations seemed on the cheap side with fake flowers everywhere. I mean I get it, the bride and groom might not have been able to afford real flowers. Just not my cup of tea. The lighting was good and the priest was great! However, there wasn't enough seating for everyone. Not sure if people didn't rsvp and still showed up or the venue messed up. Regardless, the bride and groom looked happy and at the end if the day, that is what mattered. read more

They'll guarantee you a ceremony rehearsal and forget then they'll tell you it's not necessary anymore, which would leave the day of the wedding very unorganized (if it's your first marriage look for someone who cares about your moment not just the money). I am genuinely impressed. GENUINELY. After my dear friend missed her courthouse wedding for being 15 minutes late... she was devastated.. But one of her family members frantically called around and boom, Guadalupe was able to fit over 20 people in the Chapel immediately. I did not talk to the staff as I was a guest, so I can't review on the customer service- but rather my experience as a guest. I'm kind of a diva west side gal. I like nice things. When I first walked up to this Chapel, it looked like a love motel from the outside. I thought it was going to be sketchy... BUT NO! The Chapel was stunning. Drop dead gorgeous. I went to the Emmy's and was invited to the most grand after party... This reminded me of that. It didn't feel cheap or cheesy. It's a bit over the top, but in a magical way. The photo opportunities are endless and my friend got true wedding photos. The lighting was beautiful, it was so clean... and I actually was a little inspired by it. To rent a venue and put this decor together would cost 70-100k for 20 min. This cost I believe under $700... I don't know how much my friend paid, so just basing it off of the website. We were not rushed and the family took photos for a good 30/40 min after. I have three critiques. One the music when they walked her down the aisle was muffled, and sounded like a blown out speaker... it just abruptly cut instead of faded out. Two the officiator was very informal. She talked a lot, but in Spanish, so not sure what she was saying... but maybe my friend asked for it to not be so serious. I don't know. Three you could hear the street traffic during the ceremony when someone opened their front door. I do wish they asked for everyone's cellphones to be turned off first too. It's not the chapels fault tho cell phones are going off, but it would be nice to remind everyone. Lastly, I think the primary demographic is Mexican that comes here.. I'm getting this from the reviews. The name of the business is Spanish and the staff was all Spanish speakers... BUT this place is for EVERYONE. I am not Mexican and I'd actually consider this place if I wanted to have a quick wedding. It's a nice way to not spend a lot, not have to plan much, and still have family witness your wedding. Again, I did not talk to the staff so I don't know how the bride or groom feel about this place or how they were treated, but they seemed pretty happy and danced alll night after with not a single complaint. I was just married there February 2023 and it was amazing! I'm still hearing back from guests saying they loved the venue, it was beautifully decorated, and that the food was delicious! I HIGHLY recommend using this venue, and I recommend going with Juan for your wedding coordinator. Keep reading for full details. I am a very picky eater, and i have issues with eating certain foods. We got to taste their different options and make our choice for what we wanted served to our guests. Everything that was served that night was prepared perfectly and i had no issues with the food at all. They even let our families take home left over food if they wanted to take it. All the left over drinks we bought came home with us. They help you load everything up. I worked with Juan who was a LIFE SAVER. My husband and I are unorganized and have never planned any sort of event. Juan helped keep us on track, told us what days we had to do things by, and always had a smile on his face when we were going over things. He also helped us the day of by making sure we did the cake cutting and bouquet throwing on time. He handles all of that so you just have to enjoy the night with your guests. The decorations are set, so what you see is what you get when you tour the space. But even with me wearing a black dress, it worked. I just bought some cheap black tables clothes for them to put on top of the tables and it pulled everything together. You can also choose to bring your own photographer or use theirs. We went with the person the venue provides. He grabbed some really great pictures and made sure to take pictures of the dessert table which I didn't even think to do! Also had great pictures of people dancing and went around to all the tables snapping pictures of everyone. Now we just have to pick which photos we want in our album and they'll get that done for us, it's something included in the price! read more

Nice location but horrible customer service. At first it was all going well. We were able to find the date and time we wanted. The always called to check we submitted the payments and license on time, which was a convenient reminder. I always called before going in. But the last time I called was to set my last appointment before the ceremony date and the lady told me was going to be available. When I got there she was on the phone so I let her finish. I was trying to set up the music, make my last payment, and go over the logistics for the day of. The whole time I was trying to talk to her she kept answering the phone (I would expect she would put the other person on hold or ask if she could call them later). I asked her if it was okay if my partner and I came in together 30min before, instead of him coming before me. And she said yes. The day of she charged us 100$ fee because my partner was not there an hour before even though she had said it was okay. I had given her the name of my 2 witnesses, but the day of the ceremony she had not done the paperwork for our witnesses to sign. She even raised her voice at me and told me that it was my fault. That I should had been there an hour before she could of started earlier. She spent 20 minutes processing 1 of our witnesses info, so she didn't have the time register our second witness. I asked her if she could do it after the ceremony and she said no. I only requested an entrance song. Only ONE song and I told her she could play any song for the exit. She didn't play the song I asked for. And for the exit, we didn't have an exit song because there was no one to play it. The person performing our ceremony asked us to walk out the doors as a symbolic gesture, so we did. When I opened the doors the lady was at her desk speaking with other customers. My husband and I went back to take pictures. A few minutes later the lady came in telling us we had to do the exit again so she could play the song. I told her no since we were taking pictures and she still started played a song. My guest went back to their seat so we just did the exit again. I can't remember the lady's name. But it was the same person through the process. Probably in her 30s, short and wears glasses. The location is nice, and I think I could have had a better experience if someone else from the chapel had been assigned the day of my ceremony. IN RESPONSE: I gave Zayda the name of the song the same day I made my last payment. Which was 3 DAYS before the ceremony (I doubt it takes 3 days to download a song). I arrived with my husband and our guest took pictures as we walked in which are time-stamped with 12:27pm -1:32pm (if you AirDrop pictures, you get a time stamp of when they were taken). I do appreciate the time we got to take pictures. But I would recommend anyone who is planning to book their ceremony here, to have someone else service their wedding or at least confirm a few hours before that all agreed logistics are still standing. My mistake was trusting that the TWO things (song and arrival agreement) I had requested for were going to be in place, considering the amount I paid. read more

I would not recommend this chapel. There was lack of readiness the day of my wedding. They didn't have my songs ready, the priest didn't know our language preference, my name, religious affiliation, etc. I'd assume that they'd review the application prior to wedding dates to know who they're marrying...all of the information they were asking for the day of my wedding, was on my application. They spent entirely too much time trying to gather my information which led to my ceremony getting rushed and the next couple arriving. Don't even get me started with my photos and video. I was lied to several times about when my items would be ready. When I asked for a refund due to the lack of professionalism, they were quick to provide me with me photos and video. Parking is awful. The photographer wasn't that great (wasn't observant to backgrounds / surroundings). I DO NOT recommend this place. Save yourself and please go elsewhere. read more
