My son and his dad love clam chowder. They ear it anywhere they can but this spot has been their number one forever. Our fam has been stopping here since before he was born and now, bc of his clam chowder addiction lol- we find ourselves stopping here often. It's right outside the old ( previously cliff house) penny arcade- so my son loves having a little clam Chowder here prior to the arcade. Clean, nice tables and chairs for a quick bite. Friendly service, very good prices, we walk here but if you drive- Tom's if parking garages and a lot.

    Dungeness Crab Sandwich

The staff and food at Guardino's were absolutely incredible!! We hadn't been to the San Francisco area in over 20 years, and let me tell you--the wait was more than worth it. We were given a spot-on recommendation at the window to try the Dungeness crab sandwich, and naturally we went all in and ordered four. Zero regrets. It was hands-down the BEST crab sandwich I've ever had--loaded with fresh crab and topped with the most perfect Louie sauce. We grabbed a table outside, cracked open a couple beers, and soaked up that perfect spring weather like true tourists who forgot what the sun feels like back in Spokane (we're usually negotiating with wind, snow, or both). Thank you for making our long-awaited trip back to San Francisco so memorable--we'll be dreaming about those sandwiches all the way back to Washington!

Green goddess lobster roll, Dungeness crab roll, Rock crab roll on Boudin buns

Loved everything I tasted: crab louie salad, the Dungeness crab sandwich, green goddess lobster sandwich, and the crab and shrimp seafood cocktail. Everything was super fresh, nicely presented, and had clearly been prepared very thoughtfully by someone who cares about making great food. This is exactly the kind of fresh seafood I always wished I could find at Fisherman's Wharf. So impressed by their newly refreshed menu. Don't miss the house-made Italian sodas, especially the lemon-almond. Can't wait to come back.

Guardino's is a can't-miss stop every time we're in San Francisco. After picking up a fresh loaf from Boudin, we always swing by Guardino's for a pint of their incredible clam chowder--and it never disappoints. The chowder is rich, flavorful, and packed with just the right amount of hearty goodness. It even comes with small pieces of sourdough, making it the perfect pairing. The service is fast and efficient, making it ideal for a quick snack while you're exploring Fisherman's Wharf. Whether it's your first visit or part of your regular routine in the city like it is for us, Guardino's chowder is absolutely worth the stop. Trust us--if you're in San Francisco, you won't want to miss it.

The service was better than the food, but the food was not good. Definitely not fresh with empty boxes laying around on the floor that say frozen crab on them. Everything came out cold -- clam chowder, crab sandwiches, etc. If you like your $17+ food/seafood dishes that way, then you'll like this place. The cherry on top is the service fee added to your receipt for your enjoyment.

Dungeness Crab Cocktail. A Layer of Rock Crab mixed with Mayo then topped with Dungeness Crab mixed with Green Onion.

There was a line out the door around 7 PM. We waited about a half an hour and were seated outside. The heat lamps were definitely needed! Servers were very friendly and prompt. I had the Caesar salad which was delicious and the mushroom ravioli which was outstanding. The raviolis were homemade and the sauce was perfect. My son ate a pizza that he said was also very good. The check came to under $100 including drinks which was well worth it; a great value for fantastic food at this cozy little restaurant.

The spaghetti was not my favorite the noodles were a little hard I like the that fact they didn't skimp on meat and sauce but it had a lil weird after taste can really describe it. Service wasn't anything out the park, they just wanted to get their job done which I understand. Place wasn't really big, no parking , but I like the San Francisco/ Italy look they tried to put into the building it was pretty cool. They have tables and chairs outside for that Italy look. Overall I give this place like a 4.0 not bad place I would go again if I'm in the area.

The seating inside was a bit limited and taken up by other people, but there was an ample amount of seating around the SF Ferry Building (including outside) that we were able to seat ourselves at instead. I have to admit that my standards weren't high for this sandwich, but it genuinely tasted amazing. I have to say that it was probably one of the best sandwiches that I've ever had the opportunity to eat in all of California, and I'm unsure if I'll ever be able to encounter a sandwich that tops it. Overall, amazing. I'd happily come back here again during another SF trip, if I happen to be in the area.

I had The Rocky, a very large piece of fried, crunchy-battered rockfish on a bed of a delicious cucumber/ carrot/ ginger cabbage slaw served on Acme Milk Bread. Enough for two meals - if we weren't staying at a hotel. My wife had the open-faced Bay Shrimp & Egg Salad Sandwich, so beautiful that people walking by kept asking what she had. A great fish market, too, for those who live in the area. My only knock is that the nearly all-community seating area is small and less than comfortable. Stop by and grab lunch to go!
