    The Rocky cross section

We got lucky to have had no wait and have seats right away. The worker was nice and helped to explain a few dishes before we decided on The Rocky and Pristine Fish over Rice. The Rocky is a bit larger fish than what I'm used to (which is a good thing) and has a nice tangy slaw with it. Nice toasty bun and great flavor combination. One of the best I've had, and my husband agrees. I will say I don't like the big stick of cilantro but I easily pulled that out after. Pristine fish was a nice take on a breakfast chirashi of sorts. The portion was not too big but good for my husband to share since we were gonna get more food. The pickles added good flavor and the avocado and runny egg gave it that breakfast feel. I must say I'll have to have some runny eggs next time I have leftover sushi. I could've used a bit more fish in the bowl. Overall, it IS the ferry building so it's a bit busy and loud but worth the stop by for take out. Service - 5 / Ambiance - 2.9 / Food - 4.7 / Price - 3.9

Finding a spot that is worth the price is tricky one at the Ferry Building. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful place to be, but is a tourist destination, as well as a spot for many people who use the ferry. Nopa Fish is the spot for me. I visited around noon, it was very busy but that's is not an issue since there is plenty of seating in the Ferry Building. My fish was delicious! The plate combination of raw seafood, a boiled egg and rice, it's perfection. I only wish they had some spicy sauce that is not Sriracha. Seriously, give them a try! This one is totally worth it.

Delicious and fresh seafood cafe inside the Ferry marketplace. I love their menu . It has different types of fish . Steamed mussels, prawns , small bites , kids meals , sandwiches, wine by the glasses , chowder soup , add on . I ordered a bowl of smoked fish chowder. It has corn , potatoes, cream and basil and lots of big chunks of fish . It was delicious $18 with sour dough bread . My family ordered market catch ( fish was toasted fregola , zucchini, fried shishitos & tomatillo salsa $26 ) Seating are very casual and comfortable. Great service . 5/5 ranking . Would like to try other items next time.

Met up with some friends from Southern California in town for the marathon. All of us are pescatarian so this popping up as my first option to eat was perfect alignment. Located inside of the Ferry Building a short walk from the Embarcadero BART station and Hyatt Regency.. this establishment is a treat. From customer service to flavor and a really simple menu of delicious comforting foods from chowders, fresh salads, fresh fish, homemade chips.... You name it. Today was a Saturday around noon... this place is popular however the line moves quickly. You order at the counter, receive a holder with your order number and wait to be served. We ordered ours to go because we knew we wouldn't be able to finish it all. Seating indoors is VERY limited- but there is seating right outside of the building or outside but be prepared to stand by for a seat. We waited no more than twenty minutes for our order. We both got the smoked albacore tuna melt on crunchy sourdough. Bread toasted to perfection- comes with your choice of Gruyere or cheddar cheese or BOTH (duh) and sauerkraut which I've never had on tuna. Nice smoky flavor- great proportions without being messy and the sauerkraut added a nice bite without being overpowering. I added the seaweed chips to my order. Homemade chips cooked to order seasoned with seaweed- crunchy texture and umami flavor. My friend's hubby got the Bay shrimp/egg salad on milk bread with fries. Forgot to ask how it was but guess it was 10/10 since he devoured it a day ahead of his race. This is a no frills - what you see is what you get- seafood market and restaurant. Cooked fresh- can't wait to return to try the fish chowder. Check them out!

Wandered in here for a lunch with a friend while at the ferry building. Casaul but nice, you order at the counter then find a table. It was a little busy and hard to find seating but luckily 2 seats opened up just as we got our food. The seafood tasted fresh, with good flavor to the mussels. Definitely would want to come back to try some of their sandwiches, they looked delightful!

Such a cute but busy spot. We were able to find seats together, people move in and out pretty quickly. We tried the fish and chips and while fish and chips in the city are fairly pricey these were ok for the price. The fish was hot and fresh, but a bit oily. The tartar was good, but nothing stood out. I would come back to try more of the menu, but the fish and chips were not my favorite in the city.

Came here with my sister and her friend for lunch during a trip to San Francisco and decided to get their Fried Rockfish sandwich. The seating inside was a bit limited and taken up by other people, but there was an ample amount of seating around the SF Ferry Building (including outside) that we were able to seat ourselves at instead. I have to admit that my standards weren't high for this sandwich, but it genuinely tasted amazing. I have to say that it was probably one of the best sandwiches that I've ever had the opportunity to eat in all of California, and I'm unsure if I'll ever be able to encounter a sandwich that tops it. Overall, amazing. I'd happily come back here again during another SF trip, if I happen to be in the area.

Nopa fish is a small stall and is located in the ferry building. There are a variety of fish options including sandwiches and salads. You can also purchase fish from this location. I ordered the shrimp cocktail for a quick bite and it was fresh and satisfying. Staff was friendly and service was fast. There is seating but it is limited.

Fish and chips--fries were great, fish a bit oily, aioli meh.

I've been wanting to check out Nopa Fish for a while and finally got a chance to over the weekend. We came around 1 pm on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded but we were able to grab some seats. The kitchen is pretty efficient, we got all our food in about 10 minutes and the staff is attentive in clearing plates from prior customers/wiping down tables which was appreciated. At the counter it was definitely hard to hear the cashier over the surrounding noise which made placing the order a little tricky, but nothing too crazy. We got the Asparagus Louie salad, fish and chips and the rocky sandwich. Asparagus Louie salad--definitely not worth it. Just a bunch of iceberg lettuce drenched in dressing and a few sticks of asparagus. The dressing was tasty, but definitely way too much to the point where it felt like we were eating globs of it rather than an actual salad. For that price, not worth it at all in my opinion. Fish and chips--decent. Fish was very delicate but also very oily and slightly on the darker side of fry. Fries were awesome, and the pickled veggies were a nice touch but the aioli tasted like nothing. Rocky Fish sandwich-- the highlight for me. I personally LOVE fresh herbs and this felt like a cool twist on a fish banh mi. Tons of fresh mint and slaw to brighten up the fish. Overall, I'd get the fish sandwich again but it is pretty expensive for what you get. I understand the real estate is prime and can appreciate costs needed to survive in the Ferry Building, but do think some items were more worth it than others.

My new favorite spot in the ferry building! Easy to order/great selection on the menu. It can be tricky to find a place to sit, but folks get in and out pretty quickly. The food is fantastic! The fish and chips had the right amount of batter and were fried to perfection. The chowder is one of the best I've had and the mussels were so fresh and delish! I love a good tuna melt and this was great. Not too much mayo and plenty of cheesy goodness. Everything was fantastic. Would definitely come back!

first time visiting Nopa fish over a gorgeous weekend in the city. My girlfriend and I walked up and down the ferry building food hall to see what would be a good choice to enjoy lunch. The ambience is a food hall inside of the San Francisco ferry building Definitely a lot of good choices when it comes to the selection of food, will definitely have to try a plate the next time. The service was good for a first timer

We had a bowl of smoked fish chowder with bread. Service was friendly and courteous. The chowder had an interesting flavor that separated it from other chowders. There is limited seating in the restaurant. However, there are other tables in the Ferry Building where you can sit and eat.

I wanted this to be a 5/5 - not even close. Fish: GREASY batter that completely forgot what "crispy" means. I was fighting the oil the whole time. I did not get any aioli with my order. Fries: thick cut and limpy. I'm including a photo of a starchy, pale looking interior. I finished the fries but would not agree to order them ever again. They were mushy like they either didn't get high heat they needed or set in lower temperature long enough to absorb a lot of oil. Arnold Palmer: ice tea heavy and way too sweet- no balance whatsoever. Not a fan.

We were lucky to get a table, around 6:30pm on a Saturday, and it filled up fast. A line went outside from 7-9pm. Our party had a few glasses of wine, some primo pastas (I had the lasagna, our party also partook of the fettuccine, eggplant parmigiana, and fish of the day), plus the grilled calamari appetizer. I was busy relaxing and forgot to photo everything even! Now that's a good time. Appreciated the servers and authentic atmosphere. Cozy and warm, with a small peek view of the bridge and bay. Only one single person bathroom, so be prepared. But that's not what you come for. Gotta love the lucky roulette wheel of chance in finding a random place to dine. But this one was a winner!

Having read some of the reviews beforehand, I took an Uber just to be on the safe side. The food was OK, the service was friendly but slow (the staff were chatting outside rather than helping us), and the ambience was OK. 'OK' is the word that comes to mind when I think about this restaurant. Nothing stood out, and nothing was horrible. Would I eat here again? Meh, probably not. There are so many other good and fun restaurants around.
