If you get pastries grab the tongs and load up your tray. If you have any questions just ask the staff.

This place is small but it manages to have seating inside and out along with food and fresh baked pastries and bread. I was excited to try the quesa birria and it did not disappoint. I did not get the dip but they were delicious. The meat was flavorful and melt in your mouth tender. I also got some Asada and chorizo tacos. Both were good but the chorizo one was amazing. I haven't tried them yet but I couldn't say no to the tamale's. They look like the traditional Mexican style. I will definitely be back.

First visit to this quirky place was a delight. Tried three entrees and a couple things from the bakery section. Not disappointed. Will return.

I'm from Chicago but hands down this place had the BEST TACOS AL PASTOR I have ever eaten. We were next door and decided to check out the baked goods and we wanted to try a taco so we got one. It was the best most flavorful taco I have ever eaten. I don't normally like pastor but it was so good we came back the next day as we were leaving town. Stocked up for baked goods and drinks and had a quick lunch. I highly recommend eating here. It has a very small eat in area but we'll worth the trip!

This one is good for grab and go, unless it's nice out and then you can enjoy seating located out front. Service is friendly here. The workers are always up to answering any of my questions. They told me the olive bread is only sold on Wednesdays. I've never had it, but it sounds good. The bread I love is the focaccia. They sell it in a square loaf for $5. I like to eat this bread plain, with cheese, or make a sandwich with it. I also purchased a chocolate croissant (I love me a good chocolate croissant) and it was so flaky, buttery, and filling, very delicious. I warmed it up a bit at home and enjoyed every bite of it. Ive had a coffee from here and it was good, coffee and bread is a great combination. To get here, you have to find street parking as they don't have a parking lot. I usually find a side street to park at that doesn't charge.

If you're planning a visit, pack your patience, especially on a Saturday because th wait time can be a couple of hours but it's absolutely worth the wait. I thought prices were reasonable. The dining area has a modern industrial vibe. There are tables or comfy seating if you want to kick back. There were several people sipping coffee and working in the small work space. Free WiFi is available. The outdoor patio looks inviting during warmer weather. My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!

Yes, these are quite a bit pricer that's for sure. People were buying one of everything in line. I was like wow! Some Items the combinations of flavors didn't appeal to me. I love tiramisu and pecan pie so I got them both. One suggestion I would have is to have utensils and napkins at the table for people to use. The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu. But, the whole thing just wasn't what I thought it would taste like. Now I know. :-( Creamy, sweet, smooth, with a kick of coffee all come together to make a great tiramisu. This is what most people love about it. I don't know if they are planning on opening a store or not. The pop ups are doing well it seems. I will try other items whenever I can get to one of the pop ups.

What went from ordering 1 pastry each turned into 8 total.. and we regret nothing. The Tiramisu Danish was exactly as I had hoped for! The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up

I've driven by the Bakery, so many times and wanted to stop, but I was always in a hurry. My sister and I went in and we each got a dessert and because it was four in the afternoon, we got decaffeinated coffee. The refills were free and we sat at the little counter like we were at a diner and enjoyed everything about this iconic little bakery. The decor is a eclectic. We just took our time and looked around and laughed at so many signs and odd little things that were placed over the years. On the way to the ladies room, you will find out that the gentleman that started the restaurant fought in one of the world wars, and you will see his worn out shoes, his uniforms, his letters of accommodation and Learn his story. Now let's get to the desserts. We shared some type of a wonderful lemon pastry and a black forest cake. Best black forest cake I've ever had. Savored every bite. We were able to buy the last of the springle's that they had made from Christmas. FYI, if you don't like black licorice don't buy Springerle's but you can only get them at Christmas because it's a German tradition and they won't work in the summertime because of the humidity. Things that I learned that day. We saw that they had a dinner menu with a huge variety of different bratwurst and assorted sausages that we would like to try sometime. We ended up spending an hour and a half in a beautiful little place that we thought we were just going to stop and grab desserts to go.
