I like Gucci because of its quality. Having said that, imagine my extreme disappointment in my Gucci rubber watch band tearing and falling apart at the clasp! I had the watch for less than 2 years. This was definitely not expected from an authentic Gucci product. I decided to go the store to see what could be done. Just my luck, the person that was helping me was new and not familiar with protocol. After I explained my dilemma, she went to the back (probably to ask for help). She returned with a form for me to complete. She explained that the store would send the watch off for an estimate for repair (in San Francisco). She skipped some important details, and probably deliberately. Because of that, I had to ask questions due to her lack of explaining the repair process. Me: "Isn't this covered by warranty?" Her coworker was standing nearby and said, "No, due to the warranty information not completed." Me: "It was a gift, so now what? I have the original tag in there to prove its authenticity. And there is information on the back of the watch, i.e. serial number." The new girl said she would be back as she needed to speak with the manager. I waited almost 10 minutes, wondering what was going on. When she returned, she said "My manager said we cannot honor the warranty because the information was not completed by the seller." After she said that, she seemed to expect me to be passive and just accept that resolution. Wrong person. I absolutely do not believe that Gucci will not honor a warranty because a seller did not complete their part of the warranty card. It is an authentic watch, not a fake, and I'm sure when she took it to the back they checked the serial numbers to verify. I was completely disappointed in their customer service and lack of ability to accommodate their customer. She even commented on my Gucci watch was wearing. Ok!? Then you realize that I am a client that buys, uses, believed in your products! And if you were really observant, you would have noticed my horse-bit Gucci ring. I'm not here to give an inventory list of all things Gucci that I own, but give me an eff-ing break! I could have escalated and asked for the manager but I walked out with my watch and brown box in hand, completely and utterly disgusted by how they handled the situation. Shame on Gucci Ala Moana. This is definitely one of the stores I do not bother going into when I'm in Ala Moana. No matter how much my friends & family like Gucci, I refuse to go into the store. There's never any form of acknowledgement when I go in (besides the guard - I am aware the guard is not employed by Gucci!) I am not a fan of shopping in high end stores (even though I am a fan of high end products...especially fine leather goods). I do not like high pressure and worse I do not like when the sales associate turn their noses up if you are not dressed to the nines. I came in this store not really expecting to buy anything. I just wanted to get my "fresh leather smell" fix. Alas...I fell in love with a beautiful bag which was ON SALE!!!! How could I refuse? Well I couldn't. I like to consult my husband when a purchase is in the thousands so I had to tell the sales associate that I would be back (I am sure they hear that a million times a day). Much to my surprise he remained friendly and genuine. I asked him if he had any more of the same purse at the Waikiki store and he took the time to check. I was planning on going there to get it (so I didn't have to tote the bag around) but then remembered that they work on commission. Since it was a sale item it could not be held so if I ventured to the Waikiki store his commission would be lost. He sincerely told me that was not a concern of his and that I should purchase it wherever was convenient for me. For that reason I gave him the sale. I am in love with my new bag and the service that I got here. When I am in the market for my next Gucci this will be the only store I will purchase it at. read more

I was assisted by Kumiko Young at Gucci, Ala Moana. She was very attentive, and so sweet. When I walked into the store, I was greeted by several employees with a warm greeting. Even the security guard at the entrance said hello. After my purchase, I was promptly contacted by Kumiko, thanking me for my visit, and making sure everything was ok. I ended up changing the size of the items I purchased, and Kumiko made this process very easy. She offered to have the items shipped Store Roy to my home so I didn't need to make another trip to the store. (Although with the excellent service I received, I certainly wouldn't have mind.) Gucci in ala moana shopping center there employee Armando Gonzales said that the bag we bought is only could last one year. The story is that we went there for the fact the bag i bought to my wife showing threads breakage and discoloration after one year of buying. Mr. Armando said to us in the center of the store while other customer looking at us that this bag would last only one year. and if we bought the other bag I would last longer, so disappointed from such behavior of this Armando guy, in the middle of the store customer looking and he is saying that there bag do not last a year?? What is wrong with him. I sighted that I had a great experience with coach bag same fabric like Gucci and still in excellent condition and again Mr. Armando Gonzales said that coach use enforced Nylon to their canvas bags and would last longer Anyway I will never buy any Gucci bags again for the fact they will not stand behind their products. After being loyal to the brand for over a decade I'll give the brand another shot, but managers and corporate in charge of the Ala Moana location REALLY need to take a look at their staff. No matter which salesperson or supervisor I spoke to (they were all pretty much women), each and every one of them either ignored me and continued to chit chat in their circle of workers OR rolled her eyes at me no matter what I asked her. Excuse me? If you don't like working here or want to make your customers feel appreciated then please get out of the retail industry and allow for more courteous workers to service this location. End of the day? I'll go to any other Gucci location, but this one again--I don't need rude workers ruining my day and taking my money. Gucci has quality products but horrendous customer service. My son got a Gucci belt for Christmas and went to ala Moana to have it resized. It clearly is a Gucci belt with the G belt buckle. The sales clerk asked him for a gift receipt which he did not have. He was told because did not have a gift receipt Gucci will not help him. Bally and ferragamo said if it was their belt they would fix without a receipt. They suggested we ask Gucci. We told them Gucci would not resize the belt. They were shocked. So were we. Cole Han suggested the same. Again the manager was shocked by the Gucci response. Guess what, We're not going to buy a Gucci belt ever again. Likely will not buy another Gucci product as well. I went in three days ago to buy some shoes and had a bad time trying to get anyone's attention for my purchase as I was leaving after my purchase I found a bag that got my attention so I went back to buy the bag last night. We came in during the after dinner rush/closing time; 8:30pm on a Saturday. I came in knowing what I wanted to buy since this is my first high end purchase. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to get it but because I was with my boyfriend he wanted to see what my other options were. Long story short all the sales associates were all busy and none of them offered to help when they were done. We asked a guy who hinted he was busy but didn't offer to help after he was done. Shelly was busy putting some other accessories away but stopped and offered to help us which was also awesome because we needed to be somewhere else by that time. Would definitely go see her if I do purchase again in the future. Compared to the LV in Ala Moana I would say they gave better services even when majority of the workers were busy; but like I said it was rush hour and closing time so the sales associates must have been mentally and physically clocked out yet it should not have been an excuse for bad service. read more

I never buy anything from the luxury stores at Ala Moana because the service is terrible everywhere, not every associate--mind you, but majority of them are and it's truly sad. I went in and the girl (whom I had to seek out myself, not her coming up to me) was nice and all, but little did she know I already knew what they had in stock for items I was looking for and one of them she said they didn't have, when they did. I work at a high end store too, and she had no clue at all I know all the secrets and tricks. She gave no product knowledge, no introduction, no brand debut when I specifically hinted at her too. I'm an undercover secret shopper and blog about my experience afterwards. I worked my butt off to get where I am and when I come across other sales associates at high end stores that do the bare minimum and don't give incredible service, I'm irritated by that. But that's just me. To someone who has no idea about this business would think she was the best woman on earth and could care less if she told her the story behind one of the messenger bags. But to me, someone who actually is dedicated to giving impeccable customer service; puts that place to shame. However, if you're on your A game, then kudos to you, this shouldn't apply to you. I don't want to rate this store because I'd never bought anything from that store and don't plan to. I'm giving it three stars because it's 50/50 I don't like the service but I still respect the brand-I may not like their bad service, but I always still smile and thank them for the time. read more

Came into the store a few days ago a bit worried because I'm a young adult who wasn't looking her best (just got off of work) was shopping for a birthday present for my boyfriend. Came in store and was greeted first thing but the women associates seemed a bit rude as in they were ignoring me like I wasn't worth helping.. I expected better service or customer appreciation. I received a beautiful all leather embossed horsebit black bag for Christmas 2010 and on my recent trip to LA the screws came off one of the strap bezels, luckily the bezels (2 pieces) and 1 screw fell into the bag so I could put it back together temporarily but I completely lost the other screw. Called Gucci on Monday to ask them if they do repairs, they informed me that I can bring it in and they will take care of it. By saying you'll take care of it that means NO COST TO ME. I went in on Tuesday afternoon around 5:30P a salesperson takes my bag thats missing a quarter inch screw to the back to talk to a manager and comes back and says, "yes we can fix this but we have to send it to the mainland and it will cost $50." So I in turn told her, "It's ok I will never purchase a Gucci bag again." She replies with, "there's a shop in town called Holiday Shoe Repair who could probably fix it in a day and for much less." So if you like a bag that has fancy hardware DON'T DO IT. Gucci is not like LV or Chanel, they fix your bag for free regardless of how "old" it is and depending on the price of the bag they give you a loaner in the meantime! read more
