I called all the machine shops in Austin…read moreand San Antonio as well as brought my cylinder head to two different machine shops to see if they could fix my 2012 L322 5.0 Supercharged Range Rover AJ133 engine valve seat that had come loose. Precision Engine Service was my last hope. Dennis reviewed the cylinder head in person and after looking at and pausing for what seemed like 5 minutes, he said he would do it. He was the only one that said he could fix it and he did it at a reasonable price. If it weren't for Dennis, I would have had to purchase a new cylinder head which is both costly and time consuming to make sure that it is machined to match the cylinder block mating surfaces. Even a used cylinder head would have been much more costly and time consuming. I'm a lifelong customer and have great respect for Dennis and his team who are true artisans of their craft.

I frantically googled for a place in Central Texas that works on hybrids, and Yost came up. They managed to get me in for a diagnostic first thing in the morning Monday 23 December. I was worried that it might be the EGR valve -- a common occurrence in second gen Volts -- but by lunchtime they'd found out that the problem was a much more prosaic oil leak. They patched the leak, changed the oil, and degreased the engine to make sure there was no further damage. There wasn't, and so my car was fixed by 3:30 pm that day, and I picked it up the next morning. Got a same-day diagnostic and repair on a holiday week and the total bill came to $297.80. If you need a diagnostic and repair for your hybrid car, I can't recommend Yost highly enough.

Called 'em up and was assured that'd be easily doable. Had the bike towed there so they could assess it, determine what all would need to be done, and provide a cost estimate. The assessment took a little while (a couple of weeks), but once they'd determined that, they got the repairs/replacements done in under a week! Wow! The price was also incredibly fair. When I stopped in to pick her back up, I finally got to meet the folks and see the shop, and I gotta say, it's clear these folks like bikes and like working on bikes. This is their jam. The employees are friendly and helpful and their hands are stained with grease-- exactly who you want working on your vehicular baby! She's been purring perfectly ever since for all my zooming about town. The shop decor is fun too-- they've got a pinball machine on free play if you need to kill some time while you wait. On my way to the bathroom I saw they even have some arcade-style motorcycle SEGA games! They have merch for sale like t-shirts. Bathroom is immaculately clean for a shop toilet. Impressive. I walked in 10 mins before closing (unknowingly) after wrestling with my tires all day. They didn't hesitate and had them done in 10 mins. After a failed brake flush in my own I rode my bike up there. They had rear brakes replaced, front tire turned the right way (I'm not much of a mechanic lol), bled brakes, replaced axel nut that had stripped and let me know I needed a new brake fluid reservoir that had stripped. Took an hour to find all the problems and fix them. Seriously won't go anywhere else. Was expecting crazy prices but not the case. Wheels out on the rims under what I expected and one hour service a few days later was reasonably priced.
